Located near Tower Grove Park and just minutes from the city's most popular attractions, it's thoughtfully designed for families and groups looking for extra space, comfort, and an authentic St. Louis experience.

Whether you’re in town for a family vacation, wedding weekend, zoo visit, sporting event, convention, or a quick city getaway, The Penny provides a welcoming place to relax and recharge after full days out.

The Space:
The Penny comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests and features three private bedrooms, multiple gathering areas, a dedicated game room, and a large second-floor outdoor deck—a rare find in the city.

The sleeping layout works well for families and groups. The main floor features a private bedroom with a queen bed and a rocking chair. Upstairs, you'll find the spacious primary suite with a king bed, private sitting area, and couch, along with a third bedroom featuring two twin beds that are perfect for children or additional guests. All bedrooms include fresh linens, extra pillows, and blankets to ensure a restful stay.

Kitchen & Dining:
The fully equipped kitchen supports both quick breakfasts and home-cooked meals. A starter supply of essentials is provided so you can settle in comfortably without an immediate store run. Kitchen essentials include a coffee and tea station, basic seasonings, pots, pans, utensils, and cooking tools, and dishwasher pods, dish soap, and paper towels.

Outdoor Space
One of our guests' favorite spaces is the 400-square-foot private second-floor deck. Whether you're sipping coffee in the morning, sharing dinner outdoors, or relaxing under the evening sky after exploring St. Louis, it's a rare outdoor retreat you won't find at many city homes.

Historic Charm & Important Notes:
The Penny was built in the 1890s and proudly retains much of its original character. If you love historic architecture, you'll appreciate the details that make century homes so special.

Like many homes of this age, you'll notice a few charming quirks:
Original hardwood floors may creak.
Some original doors may occasionally stick or close differently than those in newer homes.
The home features beautiful clawfoot tubs, which require stepping over the tub wall and may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility.
While we've updated the home with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, streaming TV, comfortable beds, and central air, it won't feel exactly like a brand-new build—and that's part of its charm.

Tower Grove East is a historic, diverse urban neighborhood filled with beautiful architecture, local restaurants, coffee shops, and longtime residents. Like most city neighborhoods, you may occasionally hear normal street activity and neighborhood sounds.

Street parking is readily available, and a small parking pad is located behind the home. Please note that larger SUVs and trucks may not fit comfortably in the rear parking space. Detailed parking instructions are provided before check-in.
