An absolutely amazing stay! It was my father’s first time in Michigan and he had so many good things to say about his time there. The house being located right on Crystal Lake made it perfect for sunrises and sunsets. The neighborhood was quiet and extremely respectful. The house had plenty of great views from the bedrooms and living room. The check in and check out process was absolutely seamless. Overall, I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to get the proper Michigan experience.

This stay was fantastic!! It was better than we expected and the perfect quiet weekend getaway. The house is spotless, tons of room, and just a few feet from the water. I can't thank Bikes and Birds enough for hosting this wonderful property and we hoe to come back real!!!

Peaceful retreat

A great family getaway not too far from exploring. The lake views are amazing and soothing to fall asleep to.

Beautiful, relaxing and great location

Crystal Lake is beautiful and the proximity to the water is very relaxing whether on the deck or playing corn hole on the lawn. Easy and quick access to a variety of attractions in the area. Great place.

Great Family vacation

We had a great stay at Crystal Lake. Our place was a perfect fit for our family. Mike and Nicole responded immediately to all of our questions and concerns. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Thanks and hope to be back

Great place for a family with young kids! We were pleasantly surprised to find a pack n play and high chair available for our use. Nicole is the property manager and very responsive, she even brought over a baby gate! As to be expected with most rentals on Crystal Lake, some things were a bit outdated but the views more than make up for it.

The perfect getaway and host

We had a wonderful time at this location and cannot say enough about how courteous, responsive, and friendly the owner and property manager are. The house was clean, kitchen well stocked, and property as a whole was beautiful. These folks thought of everything to make sure we had a great time.and could enjoy ourselves right away. We would totally rent from them again.

Great Getaway

This home was perfectly located half way between Frankfort/Lake Michigan and the Beulah/Benzonia area. The water was crystal clear and area in front virtually rock free so it was easy to walk 20 feet out on the sandy bottom. Home has everything you could possibly need and more - we wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Great week at the lake

This property was just what we needed for our annual trip to the lake. The house was very clean and well kept - everything we needed, plus the comfort of a lake house. The house manager was so also helpful! We really liked staying ON the lake, waking up to the waves, having coffee on the deck or just watching the stars at night. Thanks for a great week!

Michigan Summer Vacation

We had a great time on Crystal Lake. The home was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Literally steps from the water with a beautiful deck overlooking the lake. Great views of the stars at night! Close to several lakeside communities, restaurants, and stores. Within miles of great hiking trails and the dunes of Lake Michigan and comfortable drive to Traverse City and vineyards. Would definitely come back again!

Second year at this wonderful home on Crystal Lake!

This was our second year at this property and our family enjoyed it just as much as we did the first time. The house is clean and inviting. Our family enjoyed spending time on the deck watching the sun sets and relaxing by the lake. The paddle boards are another family favorite for getting out on the lake and seeing its true beauty. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and this home is a great place to stay while you are exploring.

Comfortable and Spacious Lakefront Home

Birds and Bikes was a very comfortable and spacious home. There was plenty of room for our family of Six and 2 month old granddaughter. The home was very clean upon our arrival and the homeowner Mike, and property manager Nicole were easy to work with. My family enjoyed the beautiful lake views out the many windows and spent many hours relaxing on the wonderful deck. The SUP Boards were great for getting out on the water and enjoying its true beauty.

Perfect stay!

Absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed every aspect of this home. Perfect for a family of six. Beautiful and very clean, we felt right at home. We loved the large yard, swing set and of course the crystal clear water. The paddle boards were a blast. Nicole (the property manager) was very responsive and easy to work with. We loved the welcome treats that were left for us… great way to start our stay. Oh and the sunsets were just dreamy! Don’t think twice…. Book your stay. ❤️

Wonderful

Great location, gorgeous views, and a clean/comfortable house. Everything worked well and is well-stocked in the kitchen—bonus points for sharp knives to cook with! The beds were comfy and I can’t overstate how clean the place is. Nicole was a pleasure to work with and super responsive. It wasn’t mentioned in the listing, but there is a no fire policy, so keep that in mind if you are hoping to bring along a fire pit. The shallow water area was perfect for kids to play and splash around.

Lake house

Clean and comfy house right on the beach front. Owner and host were quick to response to questions and provided thoughtful information with the rental. The online description was very up to date and looked exactly as we found the property on the day of arrival. Overall, a pleasant experience and stay. The lake water was warm enough to be comfortable and the beach has a shallow entry. The lake floor is a bit rough in places and I recommend water shoes, in particular for the kids. Bring some toys for the backyard.

The perfect getaway

The house and property were exactly as listed and in great condition. Our multi-generational group loved swimming in Crystal Lake, reading on the deck and in the Adirondack chairs, and grilling for dinner. The kitchen, bedrooms and living spaces were well-equipped with everything we could need. As much as we enjoyed "staying home," this property was conveniently located for trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes, floating down the Platte River, and exploring Frankfort and Beulah. The hosts left helpful materials and suggestions for local eats and favorite spots. The hosts and property manager were responsive to a few issues we encountered during our stay. Even before we departed, the kids talked about next year's visit!

Perfection

It was our second year coming to this property and this visit was just as exceptional as the last. The house is perched really close to the lake, so all of the windows give a spectacular view and the sound of the lake and birds envelope the house—so easy to slip into vaca mode here! The side yard is huge and our kids had a blast running and playing in the large green space and swinging on the swings. The beach area is perfect for littles—nice and shallow, full of interesting rocks, and usually enough room to bring down some trucks and mermaids if the lake is calm. The kitchen is great to cook in, knives sharp, and plenty of room for food storage. The reverse osmosis tap produces tasty water and allows you to forego purchasing bottled water. The king bed is really comfy and everything is very clean. One of my fav features of the house is the tucked away nature of the tv area. The kids could watch a show without it having to be the center of attention for the whole family. Lastly, Nicole is the most attentive, responsive, and detail-oriented house manager we have worked with for any of our house rental experiences. We felt so cared for and having someone like that made for a lovely experience. We’ll be back!

Everything about our stay on beautiful Crystal Lake was amazing. The lake truly is crystal clear and the views of the lake from the house were spectacular. The incredibly clean home is spacious with a large rear deck that is literally just steps from Crystal Lake’s shoreline. It’s also just a short drive to Frankfort and all the shops, restaurants, and the best ice cream anywhere at Scoops!
