The house is located in the “'t Zijper Eilant” vacation home park in Oudesluis, North Holland. Here you’ll find a peaceful atmosphere where you can relax wonderfully. You’ll find our Huis 18 at the back of the vacation park on a dead-end street. The garden is not visible from the street. Parking is available directly in front of the house. Within the park, about 100 meters away, there is an outdoor swimming pool available for free use (unsupervised). Behind it is a large lawn with a ping-pong table and small soccer goals. Outside the park, there’s a skate park, a basketball court, and a fitness trail.
For tennis enthusiasts, there’s the option to reserve a court at TV Oudesluis.
(for a fee). Please contact us if you need assistance.
During the summer months, an ice cream truck regularly stops by. You’ll know it’s coming when you hear the cheerful music. There’s a newly redesigned playground and a small harbor if you’d like to arrive by boat. Most of the park is surrounded by water.
On the first floor of the house, you’ll find the entryway with a small hallway, the utility room with a washing machine, and the new bathroom with a walk-in shower and insect screens (please bring your own towels). The bedroom features two single beds placed side by side, with pillows and comforters provided, a 32-inch smart TV, a closet, and a dresser.
The hallway leads to the cozy living-dining area with a new kitchen. The living area, with a large picture window overlooking the garden, features a large leather sofa with a chaise longue, two leather armchairs, and a 32-inch smart TV.
Our house has a fiber-optic internet connection.
In the kitchen, you’ll find a ceramic cooktop, an oven with a microwave function, a dishwasher, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a toaster, an egg cooker, a kettle, a filter coffee maker, a DAB+ radio with Bluetooth, dishes, silverware, glasses, and various kitchen utensils. Everything you need for baking cakes is also provided.
From the kitchen, you have direct access to the garden with a covered patio. Thanks to the roof, it’s a cozy spot even when it rains.
The stairs lead to the upper floor, which features a beautifully furnished loft area and a separate bedroom with a double bed (including pillows and two comforters)
(please bring your own bed linens), a built-in closet, and a mirror.
The new windows are equipped with pleated blinds and insect screens. Two fans are available.
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in our house.
For your information, there is no crib or high chair in our house. The electrical outlets are not childproofed, and we do not have a stair gate.
The nearest shopping options are in Anna Paulowna (a 5-minute drive), where you’ll find numerous supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, Hema, and much more. There’s also “Landgoed Hoenderdaell”—a beautiful animal park.
To get to the beach, head to Callantsoog (9 km) or in the other direction to Petten. Of course, there are numerous beaches nearby...
Everything in Petten has been redesigned. There’s the lovely beach café Zee&Zo.
For a shopping trip and “appeltaart met slagroom en koffie,” head to Schagen or Medemblik. Larger cities like Hoorn or Enkhuizen—which offer particularly beautiful scenery with great marinas—or Alkmaar (approx. 25 km), famous for its cheese market.
Den Helder is also worth a visit. There’s plenty to see… From here, you can take the ferry to Texel for a lovely day trip. Along the long beaches and in the “De Donkere Duinen” nature reserve, you can enjoy nature on foot or by bike and watch the Highland cattle. Things get exciting at the “De Klimvallei” climbing park.
