Cleanliness and guest comfort are very important to us, and we take comments like these seriously. We have shared your observations with our cleaning team and will be conducting a thorough inspection of the property to address any issues that may have been overlooked. We also maintain a regular pest-control schedule, though seasonal insect activity can occasionally increase during warmer months. We recommend guests to keep windows and backyard door closed when not in use. Regarding the odor you mentioned, we understand how concerning that would be, particularly with allergies in the family. We have hosted numerous guests and have not received similar feedback regarding odors, but we appreciate you bringing your experience to our attention so that we can investigate further. Plug in are just to elevate the overall experience of the stay and not to hide any odor. They could be removed easily, if not needed. We would also like to clarify that some of the areas shown in the photos, including the stairs and basement window trim, are natural wood knots and staining that have bled through the paint over time. While these may appear as marks in photographs, they are characteristics of the wood rather than dirt or lack of cleaning. Similarly, some of the discoloration visible on the basement floor consists of permanent adhesive residue dating back to the construction and installation process. We have attempted to remove these marks, but doing so would damage the tile surface. These are cosmetic in nature and are not the result of inadequate cleaning. As with any frequently enjoyed vacation home, there will inevitably be some normal wear and tear from previous guests. Minor cosmetic imperfections, including small marks and blemishes on furnishings resulting from accidental damage over time, do not affect the functionality or comfort of the home. We continually maintain and update the property, but replacing furniture for every minor cosmetic imperfection is not always practical. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the pool area and appreciate you documenting your concerns. We have also provided you with early check in, that I'm sure was helpful for your convenience.
