The home and location are absolutely lovely, offering a peaceful lakeside retreat. The updates to the home are spectacular, with a thoughtfully designed floor plan that provides plenty of space to spread out. The small details were a nice touch—singing along to albums on the record player created great memories and filled our stay with laughter.
However, if you’re planning to spend a lot of time in the water, we strongly recommend taking precautions against Swimmer’s Itch. We arrived late on Saturday and didn’t have time to swim before sunset. By Sunday morning, we were eager to enjoy the lake, but unfortunately, that was the only swim we had during our entire trip. We all ended up with Swimmer’s Itch.
Seven days later, we’re finally starting to feel some relief, with today being the first day we didn’t need to slather on Calihist lotion. While the house and setting were truly wonderful, the issue with Swimmer’s Itch really took away from what was supposed to be a relaxing lakeside getaway.
