Charming Cabin With Stunning Views!

The cabin: Open space with a fold-down couch bed, a futon bed, a breakfast nook, kitchenette, and small fireplace. The sleeping loft above the main area provides additional privacy. Linens and blankets for the beds are provided. If you like, you can pitch a tent.

In the kitchenette you'll find a mini-fridge, cookware, flatware, dinnerware, and a starter supply of common items (tea, coffee filters, paper products, etc).

There is an outdoor propane grill with grilling utensils; eat on the deck or at the picnic table while enjoying the view. Or build a fire in the outdoor firepit.

There is NO INDOOR PLUMBING; instead there is an outhouse, and an outdoor sink and enclosed shower, both with running potable hot and cold water.

The cabin is powered by the sun and is off-grid. If needed during cloudy weather there is a generator for backup, as well as family games and DVDs for rainy days. There is cell service for most carriers, and most people can get online through their data plans. There is no WiFi.

If you're bringing your dog, please make sure they're added to the reservation. We prefer dogs stay off the furniture, but please bring your own protective cover just in case. If they are to be left unattended please bring a crate for them while you're out. Sorry, we do not allow cats in our rental.

There is no trash pickup; the local transfer station is only open on Saturdays. There are bins in the cabin for trash, recycling, and compost. We appreciate when guests "carry in, carry out."

Although very private the cabin is conveniently located between two I91 exits, and is close to Groton State Forest and the Cross Vermont Trail.

We live and work onsite. We are also the home of The Growing Peace Project, and the garden behind the cabin is part of our food security programs. While we make every effort to respect guest privacy, during your stay you may see one or two of us quietly tending the garden or orchard. If you need us for any reason our home is onsite.

Wildlife abounds! You will hear song birds, mourning doves, owls, our resident raven family, and sometimes coyotes. You might see deer or a porcupine in the orchard, and possibly a moose or a bear if you're very lucky. This is a truly special place, and we're looking forward to sharing it with you.
