Thank you for sharing your feedback, though we feel compelled to address several inaccurate statements regarding the condition of the apartment. Most notably, you explicitly admitted to breaking off the door handle yourself and leaving the door jammed in an open-locked position, after which you demanded a rental discount because you claimed the patio then was not accessible and thus the air conditioning was affected. Our properties are meticulously maintained - previous reviews from our guests do confirm - our records show that the balcony door hardware was only 5 years old. Furthermore, the repair technician never stated the damage was due to wear and tear; rather, the hardware failed due to excessive force. Because the steel handle was wrenched off, it severely compromised the entire internal mechanism, requiring a full replacement of the door unit at an estimated cost of approximately €2500. Despite multiple requests from us and VRBO, you have completely refused to provide your liability insurance details to cover this damage. The additional charges and reimbursement requests were applied strictly due to the unacceptable condition in which the apartment was left upon checkout. Contrary to your claims, our post-departure inspection revealed a filthy apartment, biological waste left in the WC, the aircon was on full blast and all lights were left on. Not to mention the hole in wall. We always strive to provide a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests, but we must protect our properties when severe damage and neglect occur. Based on this experience, and your refusal to take financial accountability for the structural damage caused, we would not recommend renting to this guest in the future.
