Kathy, thank you so much for your review. You were great guests and my cleaning team said you left our cabin in great shape which I truly appreciate. I'd like to address the two areas where you left 4 out of 5 stars. Reference the 4 on cleanliness....when we decided to rent our beloved cabin, I hired the most reputable, local, cleaning company and the owner herself, at my request, cleans my cabin. I also texted you before, during and after your stay and you never mentioned any issues with cleanliness. If you would have told me, I would have had my cleaning team go to our cabin and reclean any worrisome areas. In other words, I cannot fix anything if I'm not told about it. You gave us 4 stars on the value of our cabin (aka rates). When I decided to list our family's beloved cabin in May of 2026, I hired a cabin rental management team. The actual property manager came to our cabin, stayed for a couple of days at my expense, as I wanted him to get a really good feel of the area and the cabin itself. He has run the cabin management business for 8 years with years of hotel experience prior to that as his college degree was in Hospitality. He completed extensive research on cabin rentals in our immediate area and priced our rates accordingly. In fact, we are comparable or less than our close neighboring towns of Cashiers, Highlands and Franklin and so on. In other words, you get the same great Smoky Mountain views, waterfalls, hiking trails, etcetera for a significantly better price than the bordering towns of Cashiers and Highlands as those two towns have multi-million dollar cabins and charge significantly higher rates. However, he researched comparable cabins (to ours) and considered proximity to local services, and established our rates. He felt, and I agree, that the quiet, quaint town of Cullowhee has much to offer, especially since it's the same exact portion of the mountains, but with much better rates. I hope this help explains to you why I'm sincerely baffled by the 4 out of 5 stars....therefore I'd like to offer to you, if you ever come back to the Western NC area, a free stay in our lovely cabin. Rachel and her guest were wonderful to host. They communicated well, they notified us when they checked out and they stripped the beds accordingly. They also placed dirty dishes in the dishwasher and started it so we wouldn't come to the cabin with dirty dishes waiting on us. We appreciate you allowing us to host you and hope that you'll stay with us again! Thanks for being amazing guests!!
