Built in the 1930s and nestled along the shores of Copano Bay, our historic waterfront cottage has been thoughtfully updated while preserving its original character. We’re continuing to lovingly restore this special home one project at a time, blending modern conveniences with the timeless charm of a classic Texas coastal cottage.

It’s the kind of place where mornings begin with coffee on the porch as the sun rises over the bay, afternoons are spent fishing from the private pier, and evenings end beneath a sky full of stars with the gentle sounds of the water. Whether you’re planning a family vacation, fishing trip, or simply looking for a peaceful place to unwind, we hope you’ll feel right at home.

Our waterfront cottage comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and offers plenty of space to settle in and enjoy the bay.

The Quiet Side of the Texas Coast

Bayside is a tiny, peaceful fishing community on Copano Bay, away from the crowds of the busier beach towns but still close enough to enjoy everything the Coastal Bend has to offer.

• About 20–30 minutes to Rockport Beach and downtown Rockport
• About 20–25 minutes to Portland
• About 30 minutes to downtown Corpus Christi, the Texas State Aquarium, and USS Lexington
• About 40–50 minutes to Port Aransas, depending on ferry traffic

A Note from Your Hosts

For nearly a century, this little cottage has watched the sun rise over Copano Bay. We’re honored to be its caretakers and are continuing to lovingly restore it while preserving the character that makes it so special.

Our hope is that you’ll leave feeling rested, with wonderful memories, a renewed sense of peace, and maybe even a newfound appreciation for the simple beauty of the Texas coast.

• Bayside is a small, quiet fishing community and a wonderful place to slow down and relax.
• Rockport, Aransas Pass, and Portland are all a short drive away.
• The Bayside convenience store offers gas, bait, ice, and essentials, with another convenience store nearby in Sunray.
• Guests are responsible for following all Texas Parks & Wildlife fishing, crabbing, and boating regulations.
• Please respect our neighbors, wildlife, and the peaceful nature of the bay.

We’re a Texas family who fell in love with this little waterfront cottage the moment we saw the view. Built in the 1930’s, it’s been a labor of love ever since. We’ve spent countless weekends restoring it one project at a time—rebuilding the pier, updating the home with modern comforts, and preserving the character that makes it so special.

We love fishing, grilling on the Traeger, relaxing on the porch, and watching the sun and moon rise over Copano Bay. Our hope is that guests feel the same sense of peace we do every time we visit and create memories they’ll want to come back for year after year.

We chose Bayside because it’s one of the best-kept secrets on the Texas coast. It’s peaceful, quiet, and away from the crowds, yet close enough to enjoy everything the Coastal Bend has to offer.

Here you’ll hear birds instead of traffic, watch dolphins and pelicans from the pier, fish just steps from the house, and enjoy spectacular sunrises, moonrises, and star-filled skies. While it feels wonderfully secluded, you’re only a short drive from Rockport, Portland, Corpus Christi, and Port Aransas, making it easy to explore the area before returning to the tranquility of the bay.

Guests can fish, crab, birdwatch, kayak, or simply relax with coffee on the porch while watching the water. Inside, you’ll find a well-stocked kitchen, mini-split heating and air conditioning, a washer and dryer, high-speed Wi-Fi, and comfortable accommodations for up to six guests, including a king suite with a private ensuite bathroom, a queen bedroom, and a queen air mattress.

Most of all, what makes this home unique is the feeling it creates. It’s a place where time slows down, families reconnect, and every day ends with a beautiful sunset, a moonlit bay, and memories made on the water.
