Welcome to The Perky Turkey in Sherwood Forest! This rustic, eclectic, and delightfully quirky 3-bedroom, 2-bath A-frame style cabin is the perfect home base for your next mountain adventure. Tucked away in the Sherwood Forest community, this cozy 960-square-foot cabin offers a relaxed, one-of-a-kind atmosphere with plenty of character. Guests should be aware that there are approximately 30 stairs from the driveway to the entry door, and parking is limited to a MAXIMUM of 1-2 vehicles.
The main level features an open-concept living, kitchen, and dining area where everyone can gather together. The cozy living room provides a comfortable place to relax after a day of exploring, while the kitchen is equipped with the essentials needed to prepare meals during your stay. A washer and dryer are also available for your convenience. Please note that the kitchen does not have a dishwasher. The main level is also home to two bedrooms. The first bedroom features a queen-sized bed, while the second bedroom is furnished with a bunk bed, making it a fun and flexible sleeping space for kids or additional guests. A shared full bathroom with a tub and shower completes the main level.
Upstairs in the loft, the primary bedroom offers a queen-sized bed and a small ensuite bathroom with a stand-up shower. The loft-style layout adds to the unique charm of this classic A-frame cabin while providing a private retreat at the end of the day.
Step outside onto the deck to enjoy the peaceful mountain setting. The outdoor space features a dining table for enjoying meals al fresco, a Big Green Egg for grilling and cooking, and comfortable chairs where guests can settle in with a cup of coffee or a drink and enjoy the surrounding woods. With its rustic style, eclectic touches, and quirky personality, The Perky Turkey is a memorable place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the best of the mountains.
Sherwood Forest is a wonderful destination for guests who want to enjoy a peaceful mountain community while staying close to some of Western North Carolina's best outdoor adventures. Guests have access to the community pool, hiking trails, and community lakes, as well as a 18-hole, par 3 golf course within the community. The Perky Turkey is also located just around the corner from two of our other Sherwood Forest vacation homes, making it an ideal option for larger groups who would like to vacation together while enjoying the privacy and comfort of separate homes.
Just outside the community, Cedar Mountain offers the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and laid-back mountain charm. Explore the trails and waterfalls of nearby DuPont State Recreational Forest, grab food and drinks at Cedar Mountain Canteen, browse local finds at Cedar Mountain Outpost, experience a taste of the area's mountain heritage at Cedar Mountain Moonshine, or stop by Hiker and the Hound, a favorite among hikers, dog lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is approximately 20 minutes away, while Downtown Brevard is just 15 minutes from the cabin, offering even more options for dining, shopping, galleries, and entertainment. Our cleaning team is local, paid a living wage, and are trained so you can enjoy your vacation in a clean home.
Confirmed guests will receive a text message to the cell phone on the reservation. The text message will contain a link to the essential information you need to enjoy your stay, like directions and door code. The digital guide-book has information on the property and on the area, including restaurants, grocery stores, and popular destinations. Contactless check in allows guests to go straight to their vacation home at check-in time.
