Little Refuge in Town



The Space:

Perfect for a romantic getaway for two or a quiet and very private writer's retreat, this adorable and unique cabin was constructed using materials from the island itself to ensure it fits in naturally with its surroundings. With a wide-open, studio-like floor plan, this home features a well-equipped kitchenette, a table for two, a cozy living area, and a desk and chair—perfect for your laptop. The lower level (accessible from the outside) holds a private washer/dryer so that you never have to drive to the local laundromat. Outdoors, this cabin includes a small deck and backyard area perfect for a hammock, grilling, or stargazing.



Local beaches, a kayak launch, a public dock, and downtown are all just steps away. Eastsound is home to many local shops and restaurants, like the New Leaf Cafe with its seasonal French breakfasts as well as the Lower Tavern for excellent burgers and seafood. Eastsound is also home to the fun and fascinating Orcas Island Historical Museum and the Orcas W.I.L.D. Science and Discovery Center. The historic observation tower at Mt. Constitution is just 11 miles east and boasts 360-degree views of Canada and the San Juan islands. Mt. Constitution is also within Moran State Park, which offers many opportunities for hiking, biking, and water sports.

Great location

Perfect place to stay. Just a tiny walk to everything you need in town and a short drive to terrific hiking and views in Moran state park.

Wonderful place!

We loved our time at the cabin and it was the perfect spot to celebrate my 50th birthday! It’s small but the use of space was super impressive, it was really ideal for a couple. Fantastic location, too! We plan to return as soon as we can!

Close to everything and perfect for a couples getaway!

We absolutely LOVED our time staying here for our 20th wedding anniversary. All of the restaurants we wanted to try were walkable and the space was clean and comfortable. We are already planning our next trip back!

Great for one person

This is a nice place for one person or two people very comfortable together given the toilet is in the bedroom with no separation. It was clean and comfortable and in a great location. I would stay here again.

Beautiful, cozy, and convenient

This open floor plan was great for me, one person. It felt spacious but also cozy during a rainy couple of days on the island. Nice view of the bay and forest. SUPER convenient for walking into town, down to Crescent Beach, and also a close drive to all other spots on the island. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Little Refuge in Town

Great little place. Within walking distance to downtown. A little bit of a hill back up to the house. The bathtub is a claw foot tub, might be difficult for some to get in and out. But we had a great stay!

Beautiful little home

The best house we could have asked for. So close to downtown shops and restaurants yet very private and ultimately the most relaxing vacation home. Open the back doors to enjoy the afternoon sun and live jazz music playing at a nearby restaurant. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Orcas!

Beautiful getaway

Absolutely loved the cabin! It was so easy to get to the property and access the cabin. The layout and amenities were impeccable- the place had everything we needed, including everything for cooking full meals. The place is conveniently located within walking distance of the town (cafes, shops, restaurants and market) but feels secluded and private at the same time. We visited in the winter and the place was so cozy. Can’t recommend this place and the host more!!

Beautiful bungalow in the heart of Eastsound

This was a beautiful property sitting high on a bluff over Eastsound and the harbor. This home was very private and fully stocked with everything a couple needs to kick back, relax, and explore Orcas. Close to amazing restaurants, bars, cafes, and grocery stores. Walking distance to everything in town. Very clean throughout! Would highly recommend this cabin and look forward to returning.

Great Location, Bright and Clean

I appreciated the proximity to town. I didn’t mind the doorless bathroom/jockeying around doors for privacy. The place felt open, bright and clean. We had everything we needed. The only thing that would have made it better is a better coffee set up for the early ferry ride mornings.
