Dog-friendly 1795 adobe with hand-hewn vigas on Taos's High Road. Watch sunrise over Taos Mountain and sunset over Sangre de Cristo and Picuris from a walled garden of fruit trees, alive with birds. Hand-carved doors, mica-flecked walls, a working kiva fireplace — 10 minutes to town and 40 to Taos Ski Valley.

The house blends Puebloan, Spanish Colonial, and American architectural traditions: hand-plastered diamond-finish walls that shimmer with mica, 13-foot viga ceilings, hand-carved doors, and antique hardware throughout. A working kiva fireplace warms the coved-ceiling den. Upstairs, a 25x25 foot primary suite opens through French doors onto a long balcony overlooking the Ranchos Valley

Guests have the full 1.7 acres — the house, the walled garden, and the flagstone patio with its fire pit for stargazing. The garden is planted with roses, wildflowers, and culinary herbs. Binoculars and a bird guide are on hand for the remarkable variety of species that pass through daily. A ukulele lives in the den, board games are stocked for slow evenings, and disc golf baskets are set up around the property between the piñon and the garden. Two bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The primary suite is upstairs, accessible via a Handicare stair lift for anyone who prefers not to use the stairs.

Neurosis Ridge is proudly dog-friendly, with bowls, beds, fully enclosed yard and a dedicated waste station on the property. The name was coined by Andrew Dasburg, one of American modernism's defining figures — a wry tribute to the restless creative spirits this landscape has always attracted. A traditional adobe horno, built by a Pueblo artisan, stands on the property as a beautiful piece of living history (not available for guest use, but we're happy to share its story).
