If you love old houses and furniture, then this is the place to stay. I loved that the home was decoriated like it would have been years ago.We seem to have what we needed in the kitchen and the large dinning table came in handy because I invited over a couple I went to school with and there was enough room for our dinner guest.I grew up in Rockport and it was fun to stay in a place I use to walk past when I walked to the movies. I am 81, so that was a long time ago but I try to get to Rockport once a month since my husband passed away almost three years ago.Enjoy!

We had a wonderful stay at this historic home. The house has a lot of charm and character, though it does show its age in some areas, such as the stairs. We didn’t experience any issues during our stay, and the fully equipped kitchen was great for preparing meals. The pool is a bit smaller than it appears in the photos, but it was still a nice place to relax. The large yard was perfect for our dog to run and play. Just be prepared for mosquitoes if you plan to spend time outside. The bedrooms were spacious, and the beds were large and very comfortable. One thing to note is that there is only one TV in the living room and none in the bedrooms. The location was excellent—close to everything and very convenient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the unique character of the home. We’d be happy to stay again.

Historic home with tons of character

This home was large enough for two families and only a few blocks from the water and quaint shopping. Beds are comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful old world charm

Beautiful historic home in a great location. Very well appointed with everything from dishes, appliances, linens, and info brochures of the area. Great for family getaways. Enjoyed our stay.

Historical Stay

It was awesome staying in a historical house. Everything was great, plenty of towels for all eight of us. Had a great time. We will definitely be back next year if it’s available.

Fun family getaway.

Very roomy for three families. Period furnishings were fun. Very clean and well stocked kitchen. A few areas were in need of replacement or repair, otherwise would be 5 stars.

Great place!

We had such a great time at this house. We really enjoyed being walking distance to downtown area. Great family time together and room to spread out. Highly recommend.

Mathis House is great.

Excellent stay for a family of 8-9. Plenty of comfy beds and lots of room. This is our third stay at this home. We love our visits to Rockport and the Mathis house.

Lovely, historical home!

Modern touches on a historical home, close to the Rockport strip! Plenty of comfy beds, lovely linens! The pool is a treat. The process to book and access was seamless. Take the basics if you plan to cook!
