This is a small private campground made of three authentic Wilderness Cabins from Walt Disney World`s Fort Wilderness Resort — relocated straight from Disney to Callahan, Florida, with their original wood-paneled walls, vintage décor, and authentic furnishings preserved intact. Fort Wilderness opened in 1971 as part of Disney`s original vision, and these cabins hosted families from around the world for decades. Now all three sit side by side under the trees on Explorer Trail in quiet, rural Nassau County — and Big Oak anchors the row.

The location works hard for you: about 30 minutes to Jacksonville`s beaches, 35–40 minutes to Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach, an easy drive to Jacksonville, and quick access to I-95 and US-1.

Book Big Oak on its own, or take the whole campground: Tall Pine and Sycamore are right next door, and all three together sleep up to 18 guests — everyone gets their own kitchen, bathroom, and porch, and nobody fights over the shower. Family reunions, group trips, and multi-family getaways all fit here without anyone being far apart. Our fourth Callahan cabin, The Outpost, is just up the road if you need one more.

Inside you`ll find a full kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fast WiFi, and beds for 6. Outside: a charcoal grill and the kind of quiet you can`t fake. Pet-friendly with prior approval.
🏡 Fort Wilderness Cabin House Rules
• Check-in after 4:00 PM / Check-out by 10:00 AM
• No smoking or vaping indoors — outdoors only.
• No parties or events without prior approval.
• Registered guests only — no unapproved visitors. Maximum 6 guests (everyone age 2 and up counts).
• Guests must be 21 or older unless a parent or guardian books and stays.
• Pets welcome: up to 2 animals, 50 lbs maximum each. Pet fee: $25 per stay. For larger breeds, please message us for permission before booking.
• Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM (please respect neighbors and wildlife).
• No hunting on the property.
• Please lock doors and windows when leaving.
• Do not move furniture between rooms.
• No fireworks or candles. Fires only in the Pavilion fire pit; the grill is fine.
• Clean dishes, cookware, and utensils before check-out.
• Do not leave food outside — it attracts wildlife.
• Place garbage in sealed bags and use outdoor bins.
• Enjoy the Disney Fort Wilderness history — but please treat décor and furniture with respect.
• Report any damages or issues immediately.
