Gatlinburg family trip

Had a great stay at Misty Mountain cabin. Not far from town, to save on parking you can park at City hall and ride the blue trolley in to town. If you plan on Cades cove loop get an early start like 8:30 am or so. All the trips into the National park are a must. Looked like there are other nice cabins in Elk Springs Resort if you have smaller groups to. If in the area again we will stay in the same area with Elk Springs.

Mostly because of the location but everything about the house was great. The view was pretty from the house but we didn’t have to drive roads that scared me to death getting there. Misty Mountain Lodge Couples Trip!!

The cabin did tend to be very dusty and a few pills were found in one of the beds of third floor room, but other than that the cabin was clean. Coffee isn't provided like at other resorts so be mindful of that, but they do supply a coffee pot and keurig. Maintenance do respond pretty quickly to any issues that arise during your stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, had tons of fun, played lots of games in the cabin as couples and would utilize the resort again.

Great space for a group of couples like ours or a few families. We liked that the cabin is only 10 minutes from downtown Gatlingburg so we could join all the fun things to do in town or relax in the peace and quiet of the cabin. This was our first time renting a cabin and we were happy with how easy the entire experience was from reservation, to checking in and checking out. We certainly hope to return again. Thank you for an amazing week.

Interior was gorgeous and had that mountain feel. My only complaint is that there was nothing to clean up with, no broom, no vacum cleaner, nothing. And, then the kitchen pots and pans were lacking. The large boiler pot had something burned in the bottom and was unusable, even after trying to scrape the burned substance out. Had to purchase a set of pots and pans to cook with.

Cabin is located in a great location so you can get to the tourist attractions easy. The cabin was up to date and had all needed amenities. I would definitely return. My only suggestion would be to update the room descriptions for bed downstairs. The description is for 2 king beds but only 1 is actually a king.

Beautiful cabin

Beautiful and well maintained cabin Nice hot tub Air hockey table was a hit Home theater is built nice but had poor internet reception so cud not use much Adequate number of beds/sofa beds . Couple Beds are however tall and may be difficult to get on to if you are petite. Access to top bed on the bunk bed is not good and was difficult to get on and off. The google and waze GPS cudn’t find the property even with the right address. Apple maps did better. Entry code did not work the first time around. However the host is easily reachable by text and phone with prompt responses. Can stay again if in area.

Great Accommodations with One Major Issue

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the cabin was clean, great accommodations and comfortable for our group of 9. We had one major issue and that was wasps. We repeatedly had to call due to wasps in the house, one of which stung someone in the middle of the night. Maintenance came out twice on two different days, neither time solved the problem. When we checked out on day 4 there were a dozen or so wasps, some alive, others dead, continuing to gain entry through the ground level bedroom. Customer service responded quickly to our calls, but clearly the issue is larger than could be corrected without a professional. This really left us feeling uneasy about our trip and not sure we would stay here again.

Reviewer Comments: The cabin is in close proximity to others, they have lots of rocking chairs and a great gathering table in the open floor plan kitchen/living/dining area. The view in the pics is misleading. The floor plan was great and the kids really enjoyed the game area and movie theater but I must warn you if you want to cook for a large group this rental is extremely poorly equipped to do so. Huge disappointment. Whoever is responsible for inventory is asleep on the job. Broken utensils, Teflon pots peeling. Not enough pots and pans to make meals. No plastic cups (kids, hello?, hot tub hello??). The floors need a serious cleaning. And not with the dirty swifter mop by the washer and dryer. I probably would give this property another try if they got their kitchen up to par. We rent a house so we don’t have to go out to eat and when I can’t even make and prepare a breakfast for our tribe that’s a huge disappointment.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay at this cabin. When we checked in the toilet on the main floor was broken, the deadbolt in the main floor bedroom was broken and one of the windows in the lower bedrooms was broken and wouldn't lock. The windows were dirty, the dishwasher didn't clean dishes. We were "upgraded" to this cabin, because the one we had reserved no longer participated with Elk Springs and we were moved 45 minutes away from the pigeon forge area where we were going to stay originally. We were not told that when we upgraded. We were moved to the resort area, and it was incredibly bad. The neighbors ruined the peace and serenity you can experience when sitting on your balcony. We had to leave early because the neighbors were partying so loud that we couldn't sleep. There were zero views of the mountains. We could only see the neighboring cabins. We enjoyed our previous stay with Elk Springs, and were so disappointed in this trip.

Family Get Away

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was clean and spacious. However, the hot tub never worked. We called and reported this the first morning we were there and they sent someone out to look at it and he said that it needed a part and that the vendor would come out and replace it. The vendor came out said it was fixed and this was confirmed by Elk Springs by them calling me to let me know that it was fixed. We were in town when I got the call and checked it as soon as we returned to the cabin and it still would not heat up. It was late so we waited and called the next morning to report that it still was not working and they sent someone else out to look at it and it was determined that it could not be fixed. I reached out to Elk Springs to let them know that we were disappointed that we were never able to use the hot tub as this was something everyone was looking forward to and the only thing they said was we would get a 10% discount on our next stay because we would be a returning guest. Our party all felt as if they should have given us some money back due to the inconvenience of the service men coming in and out our entire stay and not having a functioning hot tub.
