This was our 3rd trip to the area and first trip that we took our mini Schnauzer Woodrow. The pictures of the property don’t do it justice, it is in one of the most beautiful areas in North Carolina. The property was clean and everything you need is provided. We cooked most of our evening meals at the cabin. Appliances are in great shape and there’s even a gas grill and smoker…Host was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond.

The property was a slice of heaven in nature. We booked this home to be close to Hendersonville for our daughter’s first baby. It worked out perfect. We enjoyed our mornings on the porch with our coffee. I had read on previous reviews that the king bed was extremely comfortable and that is very true. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Brian was very easy to communicate with. I’ll be back!

Great stay! Host was very friendly and helpful. The home was very clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The lot was very private with plenty of outdoor space for our pets. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place in the woods.

It's a great place in the woods. Plenty of peace and quiet, and the kitchen has everything you'd need. I just wish we had more time to enjoy the house, maybe next time.

Awesome Escape

My wife and I loved staying here with our two dogs! The host was very friendly and had great recommendations and his dogs were super friendly with us and our dogs. It was also nice being ~50 min from Asheville - close enough but still made us feel like we were escaping into the woods. Absolutely recommend staying here!

We had quite a bit of problems with this property. Initially, we were not given the gate code and had to wait and call multiple times for access. We then arrived at the property with the host on site, to learn the property was 85 degrees and the fridge was turned off, the host did not let us know this. We then tried to run the air conditioner as we had a one year old present, to find out it was broken. The air conditioner was not fixed until 11pm, when check in was at 4pm. There were also dirty dishes in the dishwasher, dirty towels in the bathroom. In addition, it would have been nice to know the steps leading up to the loft were fold down attic steps and not a stereotypical staircase, as we were unable to carry a one year old up those steps. On our last morning we also discovered through our testing the house has mold inside, in which we all have very high mold allergies. Communication with the host was good, however these issues should have been disclosed for the safety of our family and our child.

In my initial contact with Emily I asked that she contact me when they arrive at Hendersonville so I can meet the at the cottage to let them in. She thought that they would arrive at around 4:00. Her parents arrived at about 4:30 without calling me and needed access to the electric gate. I was waiting at the cottage to let them in and gave her the code at that time. I don’t post the code online for safety reasons. When I met her parents at the cottage I offered to lower the stairs to the loft but they thought it was not necessary since the child was only 1 year old and wouldn’t use the loft as she wouldn’t be climbing the ladder / stairs. Our Housekeeper cleaned the cottage in the morning of their arrival and did dishes and towels and sheets in prep for their arrival. Everything was clean. Mold is never a problem since the ac runs 24/7. Apparently the AC failed later in the day and I was notified at about 8:00 pm. I had my AC repair service on site at 9:00 on a Holliday weekend and the repair was complete at 9:30. Emily tried to get a refund from VRBO for the AC issue but they were denied. This probably is the reason for the bad review. Check all our other reviews for an accurate assessment of our rental properties. I initially gave Emily an excellent review but in light of these developments I retract that r re view and will not rent to them again. Be careful if approving a rental to Emily.

Lovely vacation

The property was lovely and we had a wonderful time. The property owner Brian was very attentive and he made sure we were comfortable! We would recomend this home to others... it was a great place to finish the old year and start a new one!

Summer Escape to NC

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is furnished beautifully and well stocked for all your needs. It is located about 15 minutes from Hendersonville and about half hour from Brevard. It is very peaceful and private, and located on a long private gravel road/driveway. Close to hiking, golf, wineries, breweries, waterfalls!

Nice quiet place!

Really nice place off the beaten path but not hard to get to and not far from town. It’s very dog-friendly and a great place for your pups to roam and explore. Neighbor dogs Ozzy and Wren might come visit too. They are super sweet and friendly. We will definitely be back next time we need a place in the Hendersonville area!

Peaceful Long Weekend at the Cottage

Husband and I spent a long weekend here for a short mtb trip. Proximity to riding/hiking trails is amazing and the property and cottage were great. So peaceful, clean, one of the most completely stocked places we’ve ever stayed. We couldn’t have been happier. Our border collie had a great time on the property too. Would absolutely recommend.

Wedding Weekend

Our daughter was getting married at Jeter Mountain Farm. This house was very close to the venue which was wonderful! The house was very clean and had everything you would need. The owner, Brian, was great…as well as his dogs!

A wonderful property with a very responsive host.

It is a beautiful fully equipped, safe, spacious and clean cabin. Very close to downtown Asheville but in the quiet country. Host went above and beyond. We had two small kids and a small dog with us and enjoyed the property very much. The land around the house is also very well kept and lovely. Would definitely consider staying again.

Peaceful retreat

We enjoyed staying here while I attended an event at the Kanuga Conference Center. The cabin is about two miles from Kanuga. It’s close to all the eateries and other amenities in Hendersonville and Flat Rock. The house is comfortable and well stocked. If we return to the area we would stay here again. The fall colors are magnificent, with beautiful views in every direction.

Perfectly convenient

Spring break getaway with husband, teen daughter, pup. Excellent location and convenient to Hendersonville, Asheville, Flat Rock and 26. We enjoyed the open living space with lots of windows, which at night made for a wonderful breeze. Kitchen was fully equipped and beds are very comfy! Brian was available as needed and a perfect host. Wren and Ozzy are the sweetest welcoming committee! Will definitely stay again.

Nothing but Superlatives

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brian and Michael’s lovely home. Everything was as advertised and more. Our hosts were fantastic as well and Ozzy was a gracious ambassador to our two dogs. We would have stayed an extra month but it was already taken for that time. We can’t wait until we return.

Peaceful and beautiful stay!

This property was one of the most comfortable I’ve stayed in. The house had everything you could possibly need, including high quality bedding and linens and a fully stocked kitchen! The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, and the outdoor decks and fire pit were amazing! No one ever passed on the private road other than the host, who was super helpful and accommodating. If you want updated, tasteful accommodations combined with the sounds, vibes, and natural beauty of a rural setting, all 15 minutes from most everything, this place is for you!

Love Love Love

We so enjoyed this house! Not only did we have everything we needed, our dogs were welcome too! It’s hard to find a reasonably priced place that doesn’t have a thousand rules about what the dogs can and can’t do and where they can go and can’t go, so this rental was a gift to us. We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and to have early Mother’s Day. We hope to come back soon!

Wonderful month in NC

Our stay in this home was a wonderful experience. The owner was more than accommodating. His wife even made dog treats for our dog. Everything was so clean and welcoming. We were just 15 minutes from Hendersonville and 15 minutes from beautiful DuPont State Forest. Sitting out on the front patio was delightful every afternoon. We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a friendly getaway, comfortable, and pet friendly place.
