The apartment is located in a quiet area of the Cannaregio district and overlooks a picturesque Venetian square, very close to the historic Jewish Ghetto.

The two bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, and each room has roll-up mosquito screens on the windows.

A pleasant walk (or a short vaporetto ride) will take you to the center of Venice, where you can admire the Rialto Bridge, St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, and visit countless other sites of historical and artistic interest.

In the immediate vicinity of the apartment is the Church of Sant’Alvise (15th century), which houses works by Giambattista Tiepolo; just a short walk away is the Church of the Madonna dell’Orto (15th century) with works by Jacopo Tintoretto.
From the nearby “S. Alvise” pier (ACTV lines 4.1; 4.2; 5.1, and 5.2), you can travel to the island of Lido (with its beaches and the Palazzo del Cinema), Murano (famous for its glass), Burano (known for its lace), or the beautiful island of Torcello. The apartment is the ideal choice for two couples or a family.

Impeccably clean, bug-free, great location!

Surprisingly large apartment in the residential Cannaregio section of Venice. 3 of us had plenty of room and having 2 full baths was great. Easy access to the vaparetto line and short walk to restaurants and bars. The immediate neighborhood was very quiet. Looking forward to staying here again!

Cannaregio comfort

This apartment is beautiful, and well-stocked with everything you need. We were very late to arrive, and the hosts were so gracious, and helpful! They had even left some snacks and coffee for us to make a quick breakfast. We considered this an ideal location, so close to many restaurants and gelaterias right on the canal, a 15-minute walk from the train station, in a quiet neighborhood, about a 10 min walk to the busier areas by Rialto Bridge and 25 minutes to St. Mark's square.

Wonderful apartment

We were so pleased with this rental! It's in a lovely old building in a beautiful area of Venice, but it has obviously been recently remodeled with a great deal of care and attention to detail. I can imagine it as a family home where the relatives can come to stay very comfortably with comfortable beds, lots of storage space and 2 modern bathrooms. We loved seeing the local people going about their lives. The owners' son showed us everything we would need to know when we arrived, and he was easily reachable if we had questions. There were a ton of helpful maps and guidebooks available. The nearby grocery store was modern and reasonably priced. All in all, we loved this place best out of the 4 apartments we stayed in during our European vacation.

Perfect location

Two parents and a 17-year-old spent five nights in this quiet, spacious apartment and loved every minute of our stay. The location was wonderful -- far enough from the center to be quiet and utterly residential, yet close enough to be a 15-minute walk to the train station. We felt like part of the neighborhood, taking out the trash and recycling early in the morning to the garbage boat on the nearby canal, sitting on the bench in the square right outside our door and walking throught the beautiful cobblestone alleyways at night. We loved having the two bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed plus a living room, dining area and eat-in kitchen (don't miss the orange cat across the way who likes to doze on the windowsill). There was ample space inside the apartment, a nearby Conad grocery store (5-minute walk) which has everything you need, and tons of restaurants, gelaterias and night life no more than a 10-minute walk away. We recommend Gam Gam and Orient Experience for dinner (but make reservations). Chiara was a terrific host, very responsive and helpful. It's just a short walk to the Sant'Alvise vaporetto stop, and you can leave from her to connect for Murano, Burano and Torcello. We suggest taking the night vaporetto to St. Mark's at least once. It takes far longer than the walk, but the experience of coming around the bend on the water onto the Grand Canal and seeing Giudecca and the Basilica Santa Maria della Salute all lit up is not to be missed. We would stay again.

Schöne Wohnung in toller Lage!

Die Beschreibung der Wohnung ist zutreffend. Die Lage in Cannaregio ist ideal, nur 2 Minuten zur Stazzione S.Alvise. Was uns gestört hat, war die feuchte Kälte der Wohnung. Im Hochsommer mag die Kühle angenehm sein, aber jetzt im April/Anfang Mai hätten wir uns gefreut, wenn die Heizung noch nicht abgestellt worden wäre. Ansonsten haben wir die großzügige Wohnung wirklich genossen.

Great apartment, but here is what I wish I knew before booking

Great apartment, nice peaceful location. Photos are accurate and check in was very nice, she even let me check in early which was a big help to me. For anyone taking a water taxi from the airport, they can take you exactly to the campo in front of the apartment. Very convenient. I do wish I had known that there were only two small a/c units in the entire apartment, one in each bedroom. So during the hot summer days there was no relief anywhere except there. There are window screens in some of the windows (a rarity in Venice for some reason I will never understand) so you can keep windows on 3 sides of the apartment open for ventilation. The apartment is on the European 2nd floor - US 3rd floor. There are exactly 41 steps up to the apartment. There is ample room to move around, and the apartment would have been suitable for up to 2 couples. I stayed alone and felt perfectly safe.

Perfect stay for four or more people

Two couples stayed in this roomy apartment with two bathrooms. We had a fifth person for one night, on the sleeper sofa in the den. It was a 17 minute walk from the train station for us, and a short vaporetto ride for our friends. A evaporator stop is very close to Alvisiano. Everything we needed was there. You could hear a pin drop at night in this residential neighborhood. The hosts make sure you have anything you might need. We would definitely stay there again if we return with traveling companions.

Nice apartment in Venice

This is a nice apartment tucked away in a quiet area in Venice. The apartment is very close to a water bus stop which is convenient. Chiara was waiting in the apartment and showed us around. She was also helpful in giving us tips through our stay. The apartment is quite large with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and a formal dining and living rooms. The beds were comfortable and supermarket close by. Overall we had a very comfortable stay and would recommend this place.

Situation géographique de rêve...tout Venise et les îles à portée immédiate (a piedi ou en vaporetto)...tranquilité et charme du Sestiere Cannaregio...à bonne distance de l'agitation...appartement impeccable et fonctionnel, propre et très bien équipé...on se sent "comé a casa"...deuxième séjour et je ne peux m'imaginer loger à un autre endroit...excellent contact et accueil de la part des propriétaires...bref, le sans fautes...Grazie Chiara & Paolo

Very good

For adults very comfortable in the apartment since it has two bedrooms and two baths. The apartment is very convenient to stores and restaurants and is a great place from which to explore Venice on foot . It would have been very helpful if we had known that we could take a water bus to bus stop behind the apartment from the Piazzale Romana where we parked our car. Since we were not advised of this, we had to drag our luggage a long way over many steps and bridges to get to the apartment on an extremely hard day. So ignore the advice given on the website regarding getting to the apartment and take the water bus instead.

Wonderful, quiet location.

Alberto was very helpful in getting us started on our first trip to Venice. The accommodations were very spacious, with nice air conditioners in the two large bedrooms. Highly recommended!!

Very enjoyable!!

We were received by a very friendly and informative young man who spoke english. The apartment was very spacious and well kept. The decor was traditinal Venetian. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms air conditioned. There was no mosquito problem because the windows had mosquito nets. The Alvise vaporetto station is rigth behind the apartment and was only about four stops from the station. Also getting to the airport by the water bus was just a 10min walk away from the Madonna de Orto stop. I recommend the apartment to anyone.

We loved it!

This is an excellent property. I recommend it highly. The pictures of on VRBO are all accurate, but they don't fully convey how much space there is. This is a roomy comfortable apartment that is a few blocks (a short walk) from the Grand Canal. It is in a residential neighborhood and totally quiet at night. I definitely recommend this property for 4 people.

Pretty Canal location away from the crowds, and still convenient to rail, transport and sightseeing

Very spacious light filled apartment. A respite from the crush of Venice visitors. (especially on weekends). We gave a collective sigh of relief at the end of the day every time we crossed the bridge towards the apartment and left the noise and activity of tourism behind. Two bathrooms and bedrooms; beds comfortable. Lovely lounge/formal dining area which we did not use. The two bedrooms were light and spacious both with bathrooms. The building in which the apartment was located was quiet and secure. An excellent Conad Supermarket nearby on the next canal. Tucked away behind residential apartments, may need to ask a local for directions nearer the location, it’s tricky to find. More attention to detail in the kitchen cleaning needed. The vacuum cleaner and filters were stuffed full of dust from many previous cleanings, we had the chore of emptying the machine before it was useful. Filter needed replacing. The range and standard of pots and pans for visitors who prefer self catering could be improved. Overall a good stay, and would recommend to travellers. Two sets of keys for two couples were provided which was appreciated.

good location -bugs are a problem

Liked the location and size of this apt away from the main square. However, major bug issue-all four of us left with multiple bites all over our faces from both mosquitoes & either fleas or bed bugs. Hard to get a good night of sleep with the bugs biting us! Coffee pot cracked in two places (unusable) and towels very old and thin. Reached out to owner 1st day reference coffee pot issue -no response.

We are sorry for these problems you found in our apartment. However, these issues are not directly related to our apartment or to our will. Our constant intent is to help our guests make a great vacation in Venice with a comfortable stay in our apartment. It is not true that we did not answer, You can still read our responses in your personal account on HomeAway.com. We just know from this negative review that you have never read our responses. That's why you did not answer us! We want to clarify here, the following points: - Mosquitos are in Venice! now all year long due to climate change. mosquito bites can occur in both home and public or public transport or on the street. Especially in environments where you stay fast to sleep or eat. There are both in Venice and there are so many other parts of Italy and abroad! sometimes they are more often less. :: what are the remedies or the solutions? We have in our appartment 1- mosquito nets, in all 6 rooms of the house with window 2- all types of insecticide: spray, tablets and liquids for electric speakers, 3- some mosquito electrical tools to fight mosquitos, 3- skin protection products mosquito repellent. When you open the windows in the morning you have to be very very careful ... mosquitoes come home from windows and door!! - Towels are not ours, they are not always the same, they are owned by the agency that supplies them and takes them to washing. The agency is the same who makes the final cleaning in the apartment. We notified them this problem! -The coffee maker was certainly broken by the last guests who used it, we were not warned by anyone and we did not notice! When you told us, we could not come and change it because, as you know, we do not live in Venice and there was not much time to buy it and agree to come to you. We have, however, two other systems for making coffee, but Italian, that is, the moke coffee maker for the gas and then the electrical espresso coffee machine and "cappuccino" e one kettle to make tea (or soluble coffee). Now, however, the glass Coffee pot, of the American coffee machine, has been replaced. We do everything we can to make the apartment very welcoming, but you can not have the perfection! comfortable and well equipped, plenty of room.

Four adults and two young children, we found the apartment provided plenty of space for all of us. It had a traditional feel to it, which we liked, but was still comfortable and homely. The location was great. Especially useful was the vaporetto stop which was 5 minutes away - this gave us easy access to the rest of Venice and was particularly useful when we were making our way home after a long day. The owners were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay in Venice very much and will return.

Wonderful Experience

We had a wonderful time in Venice; this house is perfectly locate and very close by different main attractions and at night is not crowded like other locations. The house is very comfortable and cozy. If we go back to Venice we will definite look for this property again. thank you Paolo Chiara.

Bel appartement au calme dans un quartier typique

Appartement tres bien équipé, très propre, au troisième et dernier étage d'un petit immeuble très très calme ,très bonne literie Quartier authentique loin des foules de croisièristes et du bruit ,a 2 pas de nombreux restaurants bon marché qui proposent une cuisine italienne savoureuse L'emplacement peut paraitre excentré, mais le Rialto n'est qu'a 15 mn de marche et surtout cela permet de faire plein de découvertes au hasard des ruelles Un grand merci à Chiara et Paolo pour leur grande gentillesse
