Smelled like urine and when addressed the issue with the owner because of allergies he recommended turning on the fan. 3 of our guests had to find somewhere else to stay and we were not reimbursed for the one guest that had already paid for.

Terrible experience! Complete lie on the description they live upstairs on thin walls !! Disgusting Urine smell. And still itching from that bed. Super outdated! Drive way a complete mess. TV doesn’t even work with out a CD player! Wanted to bring 3 friends over from in town and completely lied to VRBO saying I wanted to throw a party and review on my account after the fact I wanted a refund. LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS THEY WERNT LYING! STAY AWAY!! S.O.S

We were warned by VRBO that this reservation was at risk of a party violation. We advised the guest of this but figured he would get away with his party of friends for a a fight watch party, but upon arrival realize that the owners live on premises and there was no cable per the listing description so decided to leave to more suitable confines for his party and completely fabricated everything in order to obtain a refund. His reference of other reviews is telling and he unwittingly give himself away. We had just a couple days prior had a professional carpet cleaning who specializes in pet odor extraction do the the Rolls-Royce treatment on the carpet and the order was completely gone and has not returned and no guest has mentioned it since He didn't know that. So he's caught red-handed so to speak. Also, he complains about still itching from the bed. He was only here for about an hour before checking out . When I went to inspect the unit i found that bed was untouched. So this fraudster* is clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed or or he would have made it look like the bed was used by removing the bedspread, rumpling the pillows and pull the sheets back etc. Yet the bed retained the same neat and unique tucks and hospital corners. I am petitioning VRBO to remove this review and suspend the reviewer closing their account * by way of lies and deceit he was able to get a refund thereby swindling me of monies i justly deserved.

Horrible communicator until you’re staying in the unit and then he harasses you. It was over 100 degrees in the area and he said there was no AC and to open the windows but windows had no screens and all the bugs came in and then he complained we were too loud. He saw my toddler (in a swim diaper) was in the hot tub and messaged me he couldn’t be in there. Nowhere in the hot tub rules did it mention this. There were several safety concerns, not in code with Oregon landlord tenant law. My 85 year old grandma had to walk down steep stairs with a broken railing. So unsafe. Broken outlets and light switches. He created another listing so you can’t see the bad reviews. It was listed as a 3 bedroom but it’s very much not. Terrible experience. Do not stay here until he gets up to code because it’s a beautiful idea.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience from the beginning. I received a notice before we even arrived that 1 bedroom didn’t even have electricity and the owner ran a cord to a lamp so we had a little light in there. The porch lights for nighttime hot tub use also didn’t work. There was a moldy pitcher of water and smelly mystery meat in the mini fridge. There is no kitchen, just a mini fridge, dirty microwave and toaster. The sectional reeked of animal urine. Pool table was in poor shape. Couldn’t find the key so unable to leave. Next morning we went to shower and it was ice cold after the owners used all of the hot water upstairs. The hot water heater was leaking and the pilot light went out (we smelled the gas) and the owner suggested that we stay and just use the hot tub to bathe ourselves and our children. Completely unacceptable to suggest that we stay with a safety hazard and bathe in dirty, chemically treated water on the back deck, in view of at least 2 other homes. The refund I received was minimal and the owner stopped responding to me when I messaged a follow up with my dissatisfaction. I would give zero stars if that were an option.

Not worth it

I wish I could write a better review for this place. I was super excited to stay here but it just wasn't worth the price. Upon driving up to the house you immediately see a large blue tarp covering most of the roof. The outside exterior clearly needs some maintenance and is in disarray. The entrance to the place is down some side stairs that also need some repair. The door doesn't lock! Entering the apartment/flat, you are immediately overcome with a smell of must and urine! We opened all of the windows and front door to air it out. It was so unpleasant we didn't want to stay there and were thinking of renting another place last minute! The carpets were still wet from being shampooed before we got there and we had to turn on heaters to try and dry the floor. The smell of urine was so strong in the living room area and near the kitchenette that we couldn't use the space as intended and would grab our food from the kitchenette and stay in the upper portion of the unit.The electricity in the living room/kitchenette area went out 3 times because of using too many appliances all at once. The owner of the VRBO is living upstairs and doing a number of repairs. We heard him sawing and hammering things until 10pm on Friday night. It was not a peaceful stay!Aside from the urine smell and the things listed above, the space wasn't too bad. The sheets and beds were clean, the games were fun, and the bathroom was nice.

Horrible Experience!!

Where do I Start? Our initial impression of him was interesting which quickly turned into a nightmare. I had already spoken to him upon arrival about having a couple more people join. There was a fee to pay -In which I HAD no problem paying. The place smelled of dog urine, the carpet is disgusting, the sheets appeared to be clean but had a horrible smell to them and had stains. We never used the beds but I can only imagine what the mattress was like (I always inspect the beds especially when traveling with my children). The outdoor patio was so dirty, the hot tub as well as the out door furniture. I was in shock and in disbelieve. We were only there for two hours in which we were helping the host clean so we can sit down, relax and enjoy was was suppose to be a fun day (Never happened) The host was walking in and out of the rental repeatedly giving us no privacy and making us very uncomfortable. He was talking and playing with our 8 year old daughters which was odd. There were many comments being made that were extremely inappropriate . He kept asking me repeatedly to slip cash under his door for what he called an "event" even though I made it very clear -I do not mind paying the fee but I wanted to go through the app so there was no misunderstandings. I felt harassed & unsafe in an extremely dirty environment. After Vrboo contacted him.I'm also extremely disappointed in VRBOO and the way things were handled. I WOULD NOT STAY HERE even if it was for free.

Wonderful Stay!

I really enjoyed my time here. The place was clean and comfy! I spent most of my time out and about hiking and enjoying the area. There are so many fun things to go do! The host recommended a few trips to me and the one I did was well worth it! :) Communication was on point and I felt very well cared for. I would stay here again.

Beautiful outdoor area!

We chose this property due to location, price and for the hot tub and deck. We were in between homes because we sold a house and were waiting for the new one to be ready and need a comfortable place to stay for a few days. One of us works from home and internet was great for this. The deck and hot tub were the highlight of this home! It was so peaceful, and we felt as if we were in the woods out on the patio. We both absolutely loved this feature so much that I would recommend based on that alone. The rest of the home was just fine. The pool table was a nice touch for some fun. Especially since the TV didn't seem to be working. The seating is not particularly comfortable, but served a purpose nonetheless. The kitchenette was perfect for what we needed, although not having a sink was a little inconvenient. We had to walk to the bathroom for water, but that's not really too bad. The bathroom was nice with two shower heads and a large shower. The lights on the stairway to the front door did not work and for anyone with sight issues that would be a problem. Also if mobility is an issue, this is not the place for you as there are many stairs to get to the front door. In general, things in the home could use some updating and repair. A lot of things didn't work well or were in bad shape. We weren't trying to have a luxury vacation and we certainly didn't pay luxury prices, so this was ok with us. The patio made up for all of it! Did I mention the outdoor space here was gorgeous?! Owners were friendly and helpful, but preferred to communicate via VRBO which was inconvenient for me as I was working and my partner didn't have access to that so we had communication problems. The owners also have to come through once a day to service the hot tub so be aware of that. They tried to do it when we weren't home, but we were usually home while there. All in all, good stay. and they accepted our dogs which was very nice!

Rude and non accommodating .

When we arrived we were a little bit early and created by Jereeza who was completely unaware that we were even renting that weekend period. We were told to come back in 30 minutes so we did. Everything was hard to use the remote and the TV took us an hour to figure out and although we called and texted didn't get a response for hour and a half. Once we got settled in to the place we went to get food and wanted to soak in the hot tub when we got back. ( which was the main selling point for us as it was our 6th anniversary and wanted to have a private little getaway). I booked it as a nice little surprise for my fiance and it was a total disaster overall. The hot tub wouldn't work properly, so I contacted the owner. He finally responded and came to look at it. I was standing outside in the rain with him as he had me flippin the 220 volt electric breaker just to find out it had some kind of short in the electrical system. Once we determined that it wasn't gonna stay on while he was out there, he insisted on me to keep trying it throughout the night and it MIGHT work!! So, I did but to no avail!! I even tried it the next morning and it still didn't work. He even told us we could sit in it because the water was still warm. No thank you... Not with an electrical short in the rain.Not only would it have been SUPER DANGEROUS, it wouldnt have been no different than sitting at home in my tub!! On top of all this not only was the patio furniture covered in moss and unuseable, the amount listed wasn't nowhere near what we paid for as it was almost double with all the fees. I understand some small fees on top of the deposit but it definitely wasn't worth what I paid for it. At checkout time I sent him a message to let him know we were leaving and that I was definitely not satisfied, and didnt get A response until the next day. His resolution to the issues to me, was he would refund me 15% of my amount I paid to stay here. And not one time did he offer anything while we were trying to get the hot tub to work until 8:30pm. When he finally responded he said if I would have told him how dissatisfied I was, he would've cancelled us out and found a better place to stay!! Which we both did!! But yet, he not once mentioned this or even showed me any concerns regarding everything until he got his money and we had checked out!! Now, I understand it was not his fault. However he just showed no care or concerns at the time. AND I STILL HAVENT RECEIVED MY REFUND FROM HIM!

She got her refund - a sizable one at that - for the inconvenience that resulted from the a calendar sync issue with another platform and lack of amenity. The short she references was for the topside control which is DC millivolts and might, yes, be dangerous - If you were an ant or mosquito. but not for people. You wouldn't even feel it, let alone be hurt by it. Deborah said she would be back to check in after 30 minutes and Jereza and I flew about to make the unit ready for her in record time. Exhausted and sweaty we waited to greet her again. And waited. And waited. We gave up and went to bed. She came back a couple hours later with no message or update re. her delay. This, well past, operating hours, she expected me to spring into action and attend to the spa, which I did, and discovered that it was cool and had been off for some time (the last guest having turned it off at the breaker. I told her that the 220V heater will have it back up to temperature in 5-6 hours so it would be ready for an early morning soak. And perhaps it wasn't "hot" when she checked out early the next morning, but that was more a function of her early departure, than anything else.

Prettier than pictures. Close to hiking and downtown. Super comfortable bed. Loved having coffee on deck. Even has covered area that I enjoyed when rained. In the trees. Amazing. Will stay again.

Tree house everything we needed

Our stay at the tree house was great! It's a bit of a drive from Portland so keep that in mind. The views are spectacular and the spot is quiet and serene. John and Jereza are helpful and available but you can have as much privacy as you wish. The suite needs a cutting board and a better knife to make food prep easier. Otherwise it had everything we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was clean and comfortable. There are lots of steps to get down to the suite so if stairs are difficult for you perhaps steer clear of this one. Overall a great place with hospitable and friendly people!
