Loved the house. It was perfect for everyone who stayed here. The beds were comfy. The game room was fantastic! The view of the lake was breathtaking. I would stay here again for sure!

A favorite family tradition

We are annual guests and stay with another family each summer. The fenced yard, lakefront views, and game room / bunk room upstairs, are perfect for letting everyone spread out. There’s also easy access to hiking trails, bike paths, the McKinney dock, and Chambers beach. The owners carefully vet their guests, and neighbors keep close eyes on things. We feel fortunate to stay in this special family home and hope to come again.

Wonderful house and location

We stayed for a week at Carie and Mike’s house and had an amazing time. The location was perfect and you cannot beat the view. The bathrooms are large and the kitchen has everything you need. We were super happy with our stay and would love to come back again.

Great view, comfortable home!

This house is very comfortable, furniture and beds. House has game room with several games including pool table, dart board and a very nice bar area. Nice TV in living room and kitchen has many cooking essentials. Everything you need. Huge deck with amazing views of the lake. Nice fireplace, and comfy throws for the couch. Bathrooms are beautiful

Terrific Tahoe Family Vacation

This a great property. Well furnished, comfortable, & well appointed kitchen. Fantastic common spaces with ample couches/seating for your group to hang out watching movies, playing pool, or cards or games. Wonderful kitchen. Gorgeous views of the lake & mountains from almost every room. The back deck is also lovely and shaded so you can be outside virtually all day enjoying the weather and lake views. The yard is a great size & the fence is sturdy/great condition. We brought our dog so we really appreciated this. Owners communicated well & check in/out was easy. If anything, the description of the HOA private beach was not what I expected. It is very small & basically an access point to a pier for getting on/off your boat. Not large enough to bring chairs & hang out at the "beach". Also, I thought that a dog friendly beach was immediately next door to the HOA beach but this was not the case. You would need to drive with your dog (which means wet dog on the ride back). However, it turns out most of Tahoe beaches are this way & require dogs on leashes so. We ultimately crossed the street in front of the house (carefully due to busy traffic) & just sat in the very narrow shoreline behind the steep embankment from the road to let the dog swim there. It worked out ok it was just not what we had envisioned a beach with the dog. Sugar Pine Point state park is 6 min drive away & GORGEOUS! Would 100% stay at this house again!! Thank you Carrie and Mike!!

Lake Tahoe Summertime fun

I always appreciate when a vacation rental is an actual family vacation home because the kitchen is stocked, the beds are usually far more comfortable and the little things like cozy blankets for the couch are available. This house was exactly that. I chose it initially for the location, view and being dog friendly. But it truly is a great family vacation home for both summer and winter. We are a family of 4 with two young girls. The girls loved the big bunk bed upstairs and the deck and backyard. I appreciated the comfy bed, spacious primary bathroom and the amazing view. Our dog Hank enjoyed the large fenced backyard and ample dog toys he found in the garage. I’ve stayed at many vacation properties over the years and this one was great for our family. It was nice to have beach chairs and some inflatables in the garage for use, as well as paddle boards (which we didn’t get to utilize, unfortunately). The owners were easy to communicate with and the check in/out process was simple. They had the smallest departure checklist I’ve seen in a long time, which was refreshing. The only suggestions I have to improve the experience would be a garage door opener, and some sort of curtains on the upstairs windows. Our girls were up with the sun (5:30 am!) nearly every morning because there weren’t any curtains or blinds. I’m sure this isn’t an issue in the winter when sunrise is much later, but definitely something to consider for summertime if you have young kids.

Fantastic Property

This property was absolutely amazing! It was a perfect fit for a family with teens. The upstairs set up could not have been more perfect for them. The location was ideal to get to the hustle and bustle of Chambers Beach or to use the quieter McKinney Shores private dock/beach...you get the best of both worlds! The best part of this property was the outside space...the view was surreal. Waking up to have our morning coffee on the deck while looking out at the lake could not have been a better way to start each morning. Sunrises and sunsets were awesome! This a gem of a property! Thank you Carie and Mike...we had an amazing time and we look forward to another stay!

Can I give this 6 stars out of 5?!

Amazing, amazing, amazing. How can you beat a great cabin on Lake Tahoe in the amazing homewood west shore?! Stayed with my infant, wife and some family friends and children. We had so much fun. Cabin is awesome. Zero complains. HIGHLY recommended.

My husbands 1st trip to Tahoe!!

We had a great stay at this beautiful home! Our beds were comfy and the bathrooms are big and roomie. Our favorite spot was sitting on the porch every morning and evening!! The view is so amazing! We cooked almost every meal there and they had plenty of kitchen supplies to use. We would definitely stay there again!! We had an awesome trip for my husbands 1st time in Tahoe!!

Wonderful time on the lake

we spend a week together with family (grandparents, parents and kids, and a dog) at this wonderful location right on the lake. The place is spacious for 6 people, offers a nice deck and plenty of options inside as well. All of us in particular enjoyed playing pool in the evenings. We would love to come back any time.

We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect and the views cannot be beat. The house and yard were ideal for family fun. The host was responsive and equipped us with all the information we needed for a wonderful visit.

Beautiful Property

This is a beautiful property in a great location. The yard looking out onto the lake is what sold us on the house and it is even better in person. We spent a relaxing week at the home and we’re more than happy with the entire stay. Carrie was wonderful and helpful!

Great view and location!

Our family (6 adults) thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The patio, with a fantastic view of the lake, was great for morning coffee, meals, or playing cards at night. There is also a great bar/game room upstairs. Bathrooms were very modern. We had never been to the Tahoe area and the location was perfect for taking off and exploring in all directions. The highway, between the lake and the house, could get a bit noisy at times. We would definitely stay again!!

Wonderful winter weekend for the family!

This was a special place to stay with our family for a long weekend and a place we hope to come back to! We were two sets of adults and a total of 4 kids. We appreciated all the following: the well appointed separate bedrooms for adults; the fact that kids could all bunk together; the cozy and homey touches and tastefully crafted furnishings around the home; the well-designed kitchen and eating space; the lake views; the proximity to Homewood for some skiing by day; the stack of wood for cozy fires by eve; the game room; and how responsive the hosts were! We also appreciated the fact that we had the option to bring our dog along! Led to a bonding weekend and lots of great memories. Thank you!

Great property at a great location

We had a great stay at McKinney shores. The home was clean, well stocked, and in a great location right in front of the lake. The deck and yard were great to spend time outside, and great for our dog. This is a great choice for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation spot in West Lake!

Great home in a great location.

Nice stay at a nice home with a great view. It was also nice to be able to bring our dogs with us. Beds are comfortable, kitchen well-stocked. Plenty of extras, including chairs, paddle boards provided. Lovely! Would stay again.

Nice Location

We had a great time in this Lake Tahoe home. The views of the lake are great. It’s close to many hiking and skiing resorts. The game room is lots of fun.

Perfect!

Absolutely LOVED our stay. View is amazing. Place is so beautiful. Really no reason to even leave. View is perfect. We sat around and drank wine and just embraced the view. House is stocked great! Feels super cozy. Yard was great for our pup too! Super easy drive to squaw and Alpine. We will come back for sure! Is it for sale?! hahaha

Lovely Lake Getaway

The house was spacious and well stocked-- great deck and fenced lawn for kids. Excellent waterfront location, with access to HOA beach and small rocky beach across street. Also close to endless hiking and biking trails. Mike and Carie were SUPER responsive to questions during the stay.
