Perfect for our family

The house was lovely and perfect for spending Easter weekend with 3 generations of our family. The bathrooms were all clean and recently upgraded. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots/pans/dishes and basics for cooking (olive oil, spices, etc). It was nice to have two separate sitting areas/family rooms to keep noise contained after kids went to bed. We walked to the beach multiple times each day and took advantage of the beach toys, chairs and wagon. We had a wonderful trip and would gladly stay at this house again.

Daffy Duck House

Everything was great. I just expected the room with the twin beds to be bigger. Everything was clean, easy entry and lots of entertainment options in the house.

Great home away from home

This house was so well set up. Any little thing we needed seemed to be there. My younger kids enjoyed looking through the dvds and vhs and it led to alot of conversations about old movies. The kitchen was great for our group. And the beds were comfortable, which I always worry aboht. Our stay was great and the kids loved only having a quick walk to the beach or shops!

Summer vacation

We had a wonderful stay at the Daffy Duck! One of the best vacations in a long time. The weather was great and the house was perfect for our family. It was clean, bright, nicely decorated, and close to the beach and downtown Duck. We really enjoyed the new addition and deck. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and at the same time cozy rooms for when we all wanted to be together. We can’t wait to stay again!

Graduation, fall break, family getaway

The house accommodated 8 adult sized bodies very well. Parents, my husband and I, our 3 (young adult) children and daughter’s boyfriend. The oldest kiddos will both be graduating college in December. Wanted to celebrate on a semi budget. This place did not disappoint. Was beautiful! First time to OBX, was lovely.

Great house/Great location/Great value/Great VACATION! :)

The house feels like part cabin in the woods, and part California beach house with it's awesome addition! Lots of space for 4 adults. The young adults loved the ping pong table! The location is 1 block to the quiet beach. We brought our bikes and did lots of bike rides on the bike trail. We appreciated the beach chairs. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked many meals at the house. Easy walk into town to the boardwalk, restaurants, and shops! I would definitely rent this house again! We had never been to Duck, the Outer banks, or NC and loved it all!

Wonderful stay at the Daffy Duck

We had a great vacation staying at the Daffy duck. The location was perfect. Easy walk to the beach and even with young kids we were able to walk to shops and restaurants. They had everything we needed at the house! We appreciated that we didn't have to bring beach toys and chairs, they had it all in a wagon ready to go. The house was very spacious. I knew to bring our own linens but did not think about bringing toilet paper. That would have been the only thing that would have been nice to know going in. But otherwise we had a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend!

Duck Stay During Jazz Festival

Kitchen nicely furnished with cooking needs and had good counter space for food prep. We needed good kitchen provisions...so A+. Rooms were clean. BR were small but thats ok for our needs. Good that cottage was close to the ocean. It was not far from Duck but we drove to Duck for other needs so ocean close-venue was better. Really spacious living rooms (two). That gave adults options on TV and conversing. We will consider staying there again.

Fantastic location

A gem. Perfect for our family of 4. Quiet street, 5 min to beach, 10 to town. Beautiful neighborhood. Well stocked kitchen, love the roof deck, outdoor shower, bikes and beach toys to borrow. Great communication by host. Duck rocks. For the price, this is a deal. Good vibes

Duck April 2021

We had a wonderful long weekend spring visit to Duck. We love the location of this property which is an easy walk to the beach but also close enough to walk to the village of Duck, the boardwalk area and to our favorite coffee shop. There is an extensive movie collection which we all enjoyed. Plenty of outdoor places to relax on the sunny rooftop deck and front deck or the shady porch and rear deck. Bedrooms are small as seen in photos but perfectly adequate and living space had plenty of room to hang out. Kitchen had everything we could have needed and we cooked a big dinner every night. Well maintained and looked like recent updates with new shingles, fresh paint and new floors. We appreciated full size washer/dryer. We would stay here again!

Retro and Cozy, Easy Walk to Beach

This house was exactly what we were looking for - a cozy cottage for a long beach weekend getaway! It has a "retro" coziness, which reminded me of the Duck/Nags Head-area homes that my family used to stay in back in the 80's. It was also the perfect size home for our young family of 4. Easy walk to the beach too. Would definitely stay here again!

Cute house - great location!

Nicely decorated house with wonderful screened-in porch. Short walk to the beach or to town. Comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. Also provided: bikes, beach chairs, beach toys, board games, books, and movies. Owner was very responsive and helpful.

Great spot

Loved all the deck space. Short walk to beach. Had everything we needed. Has a charcoal grill. A gas grill would be nice. We all agreed we would stay here again.

Great place in duck!

The property was great just a short walk to beach access! Many amenities the house included such as chairs and boogie boards and bikes! The house was very clean and we enjoyed it a lot! We even talked about coming back to the same house in the future we loved it!

Fantastic find

Owner was the best at communication...reviews were accurate, perfect place for two mid life ladies to have a long weekend without hubbies. Spotless, so close to the beach, everything you need for a long weekend and more. Super value!!! Owner very accommodating can’t thank him enough, highly recommend!!

Great location and charming vacation home

This vacation home was a great find! It is an excellent location, and although a little weather worn, is a wonderful home! It is clean and well kept and feels like a home away from home. The property manager/owner was great in responding to messages, and kind. Thank you for letting us stay in such a great vacation home!

Perfect house for a small family

This house is in a great location ... just minutes from the beach and town, all within walking distance. There were bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc for use. Many kitchen items ( Coffee, condiments ) were already there so you did not have to buy every little thing . Steve was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location!!

This home sits on a nice quiet street with easy access to the beach, short walk to town. Love the outdoor decks. I think the home could have been cleaner, especially the bathrooms. There was still a bathing suit from previous renters hanging in the indoor shower. Not sure if the cleaning crew even cleaned the shower, thinking no, because they should have seen this. Bathrooms are also very tiny, no counter space. The bathrooms were definitely our biggest issue. Otherwise, this home worked for us.

This is cute house right down from the beach. We had a great time and loved the easy access to the beach. Also the the stores are close and very easy to get to whether you are driving or walking both are great.

Perfect little beach house!

Our family of four had a fantastic trip to OBX - we all loved staying at Duffy Duck! The inside of the house was clean and comfortable. It had a nice layout for family dining and enjoying movies/games on a rainy day. It was a short walk to both the beach and to the boardwalk on the sound. Great neighborhood! We especially loved the screened in porch where we ate crabs and watched several evening thunderstorms roll through. The roof top deck was also nice for relaxing - you could hear the waves crashing in the distance and it was perfect for viewing the pink sky at sunset, or for late night star gazing! The house is surrounded by vegetation, which provides both shade and some privacy & separation from the neighbors. Because of this, though, there were a number of spider webs and berries on the back decks/furniture. This didn't bother us too much - we just used the hose and outdoor shower (which was great to have!) to rinse off to avoid tracking squished berries into the house:-) Overall, Daffy Duck gave our family a comfortable place to call "home" after exploring OBX during the day. We had a lot of adventures and would love to visit and stay again soon! Thank you

Very cozy

The house is in a great location, quick walk to the beach, easy walk to Duck. The main living area is well laid out, cozy and inviting. The kitchen was well equipped, furniture was comfortable. Plenty of books, games and DVDs. Loved the screened porch and the back decks. I have seen the size of the bathrooms mentioned in other reviews; they were a little tight but that isn’t where we spent any significant time so it was really a non-issue for us. Ran into a little issue during our stay and the owner was quick to respond and address it. We plan to book again next year if it’s available!

We first came to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in the fall of 1990, just after the birth of our son. Now, more than 30 years later, after renting various homes in Duck, Kill Devil Hills, Salvo, and Frisco, we've finally decided it's time to have a place of our own. And if you're at all familiar with the area, you know that Duck is the place to be! There's no six lane highway just outside your door, there's no endless stream of cars inhibiting your access to the beach, and there's no 45 minute to 1 hour drive after you cross the sound! Duck is less than 20 minutes from the Wright Memorial bridge - even during the peak of the summer season (if you know the back roads). There is no road to cross to get to the beach and you can walk from one end of town to the other in just a few minutes.

We hope that you enjoy your time in Duck as much as we do.
