Waterfront Haven på Country Lane, tæt på Seattle, shopping, restauranter

En dag på banen: Tilbring dine dage afslappende i solen, slappe af i skyggen, udforske stranden, se på ørne, skibe, slæbebåde går forbi, mens du krøller op med en bog eller tager en tur på vores landevej. Mindre end 30 minutter fra Seattle eller Bellevue og 10 minutter fra Boeing på Paine Field, Everett, er vi halvvejs mellem Edmonds og Mukilteo, havnefronten ved Picnic Point. Picnic Point Park med offentlig strand har tidevand pools og er 1/2 mile let gåtur. Når tidevandet er ude, strækker den store strand sig ud foran, hvor der kan findes gemme i dollar, der kan finde dollarbede, krabber, urchiner og stjernefisk i havgræsset. Hvis du er her i marts og april, er det almindeligt at se pukkelhvaler gå forbi, når de fodrer, bryder og svømmer mellem Picnic Point og den sydlige spids af Whidbey Island. Vi er få minutter fra Boeing på Paine Field, den største bygning i USA. Talrige museer, der vedrører fly og historiske fly er meget tæt på.

MEGET VIGTIGE NOTER:
1. Der er mange stier!
Vores hjem er havnefronten og blev bygget på et stejlt parti. Således som billederne viser, går du ned ad en meget lang trappe for at komme ind i lejeenheden og sikkerhedskopiere disse trin, når du forlader. Hvis trapper ikke er et problem, vil du nyde uhindret udsigt og en smuk indstilling til at hvile og slappe af.

2. Der er talrige tog, daglige og noget mindre om natten
Havnefronten i vores område betyder tog, og vores gæster vil høre (og undertiden føle) tog som de går forbi. For nogle er lyden beroligende og afslappende. Det er bare en del af den lokale charme på Lane. Ørepropper bruges af nogle til at sove, vi giver også en ventilator på værelset, og gæsterne kan tænde bad og køkkenudstød for hvid støj på værelset om natten. Du kan også downloade "White Noise" Apps på din Smartphone, iPad eller anden enhed, hvis du er en lys sovekabine.

3. STORT, PRIVAT LANE
Vores Lane er en stille, smal, privat landvej, og mange lokale beboere har boet her i 40 år. Nætterne er ekstremt rolige, og vi beder vores gæster om at ære "stille mængder" når som helst efter kl. 21 og indtil kl. 7.30.

Perfect start to the new year!

This was a lovely place to bring in the new year. The weather was great for the end of December and there were a couple of great sunsets from the deck. I loved every thing about my stay. The hosts were very gracious! Thank you!

Sara & Don are GREAT hosts. I asked about the heat and next thing I knew I had a heater at my door. The view is amazing. So quiet & peaceful. Loved the trains. All The Haven is missingbis an "E" after the "A" bc its where serenity lives.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If there was a 10 I'd give that as well!!

Good experience

Clean, comfortable, spacious. Stairs down to the bottom, then one level up to the unit was challenging (over age 60), but felt more in shape after the week. For out of town guest and myself it was perfect, between Seattle and San Juan Island. Went to Underground Seattle tour, Chihuly Glass, Pier 57 Wings Over Washington, and the Ballard Locks. Walked on Friday Harbor ferry, rented a Chevy Tracker from Susie's Mopeds and zipped around the island. Tried to see whales, went to Roche Harbor, Amaro Farm, and Krystal Farm. Spent the night at Discovery Inn which has very spacious, lush grounds with seating all over and a hot tub. The owners were easy to communicate with. Thank-you!

Beautiful

Beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Well organized and stocked with everything you would need to cook. The owners are one text message away and responded immediately. I had a little trouble with the code to enter but Sara was quick to remedy it. She is also gracioulsy sending me my wedding rings I left behind. As a solo travelor I felt safe. The property is in a beautiful location with an amazing view of the sound.

Great waterfront property with amazing sunset view's

Very Comfortable and memorable experience. Working in Everett that week, I stayed 4 nights. A lot of steps to get down to the unit but worth every step. The trains going by were fun to watch, I looked forward to the next one coming by. Really enjoyed watching the fishermen and crabbers in their boats from the deck and the view of the sunset is priceless. Overall, a really special place with great hosts! Thank you Don and Sara

Visiting my son.

What a treasure! The photos and description don’t give it justice! I never realized that the location is literally right off the water. The balcony looks over a back yard, train tracks, beach when the tide goes out and the most spectacular views of islands across the Sound. The unit was super roomy and comfy with all the amenities. Easy communication with the owners who were super nice. I will be back and next time with my husband. The stairs were not bad at all, with a nice railing and motion lights at night. The view was worth every step!!! A bald eagle even swooped up right in front of the balcony! Besides the joy of seeing my son that I haven’t seen in so long, what an extra treat to stay in such a nice place.

Relaxing with a view that's never the same!

Our stay at The Haven was relaxing. It is a great place off the beaten path but close enough to go on day adventures. The view is amazing and changes each day. We spent a lot of time on the deck watching the fisherman and one morning, when the water was calm, we saw dolphins and seals. Sunsets were amazing too! When it got too cold in the evening we could still enjoy the view sitting inside. The Haven is a quiet getaway - even with the occassional train that passes by. The hosts of The Haven are great and made sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked - even spices in the cupboard. Thoughtful additions throughout - outdoor blankets, a fan, umbrella, binoculars - to name a few. The descriptions and pictures accurately represent The Haven - no surprises. We would return!

Just what the doctor ordered

5 out of 5! Hosts were great and very responsive. The scenery was incredible. Very simple check-in and check out process. The stairs were not as bad as I anticipated. Property is ducked off out of the way and provides and very calm and serene experience!

The place is beautiful with a view of the Sound that's outstanding. It was very clean when I got there, & the accommodations were quite excellent. The shower was especially good. The stairs are a challenge, especially at the end bringing up the luggage, so you need to be in decent shape if you want to stay here. If you have a coronary deficiency, an aneurysm or any other condition that requires care in exercise, you might want to consider your stay here carefully. The train tracks are very close, & trains go by pretty frequently, but the house is so well constructed the the noise is dampened considerably. As a result there were times when going to sleep was a bit difficult as occasionally 2 or 3 trains went by at 5 minute intervals, but the trains never woke me. Finally I asked to meet the Christensens my 1st day there, but never got response that allowed for that. I met Don twice, but there was no conversation beyond what was necessary for me to get to the right part of the house & to get into the apartment. As a result I actually felt about as welcome as an uninvited relative.

Beautiful Unit & Views

The unit is very nicely decorated and comfortable. I enjoyed having a deck to myself. The stairs are no joke. I was winded everytime I had to ascend them. There are 65 and they are steep and narrow. It's something that you really do need to consider if you're not in shape. I found the trains to be charming and didn't interfere with my stay at all. The views are spectacular!

Unique and wonderful stay

We chose this property because of its proximity to Seattle, waterfront view and high probability of spotting a bald eagle from the balcony. And within an hour of our check in a juvenile bald eagle flew right past us! We also saw two more that would frequent the ship wreck just down the street. We loved the trains passing through and we even saw a whale. The steps are steep and transporting our luggage was a little difficult but it was totally worth it. The owners were very responsive and even let us check in a few hours early. The neighborhood was unique and we just loved everything about this place and would definitely recommend staying again.

Magnificent sunset view you don't want to miss

The sunset view is gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have sunny and clear sky on our first night. Owners are very responsive, place is clean and quiet. There are stairs up/down and trains passed by during night but this didn't bother us at all. We also spent sometimes on tide pool when the tide is low.

Friend Beach Get Away

My friend and I just enjoyed a two night stay at this little beach get away. If you don’t mind trains, like me, this place is great! If you have any concerns with stairs, this is probably not the place for you. The view is incredible! Sara Was quick to respond to my questions. We even saw a rare sighting of an Orca pod! Honeymoon Highlight

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Haven! Amazing sunsets over Puget Sound and a wonderful view with the mountains on the horizon. It was so gorgeous we didn’t eat out for these 7 nights on our honeymoon but chose to come home and grill and eat on the deck see the view. The train didn’t bother us, and there are a lot of steps but it makes it that much more private. Very clean and comfortable inside with everything you need. Highly recommended!

We fell in love with this property from the first moment we pulled onto the Lane in 2011. There is a steep wooded bluff to one side of the Lane and Possession Sound stretching out in beautiful blue to the other side. The sunsets we see here are spectacular in every season. We watch weather systems come and go where we can see 8 miles out into the shipping lane, the south end of Whidbey Island and the lights of Hansville in front, Edmonds to the South and the picturesque Pacific Queen shipwreck to the North. We are halfway between Edmonds and Mukilteo, so at all times 2 or 3 of our beautiful Washington State Ferries can be seen as they take their passengers from the mainland to Whidbey Island or the Peninsula and back. The home is so close to the water we often feel like we live on a cruise ship. The sound of gently lapping waves is something we will never grow tired of, and when it's stormy the white caps and crashes of the waves breaking on the bulkhead reminds us why the name Wind and Tide was given to this area.

This is a beautiful new unit with large windows, 9 foot ceilings, 8 foot doors and elegant but comfortable furnishings. The home is a reverse 3 story, which means the main floor is at street level, and the unit we've created as a guest studio is down a long flight of steps, with its own private exterior access on the 3rd floor deck. The neighborhood is part of The Wind and Tide development, and like most waterfront, has a wide range of unique and interesting homes. When you walk the lane you will see cabin style homes that have been here for 100 years as well as new construction and everything unique in between.

Although we are waterfront, the water and beach is best accessed via the Picnic Point Park which is 1/2 mile to the south. Railroad tracks and a bulkhead that's challenging to navigate separate our property from the water. Also, see the tides website I've included to check for minus tides while you are here. The seafloor here is extremely level, so there are miles of tidepools to explore when the tide is out, but during high tide the only access is Picnic Point Park.

Eagles fly past at deck level numerous times a day, and it's common to spy a seal, sea lion or otter as they fish in the shallows. In summer the mother seals leave their pups tucked into the rocks of the bulkhead, but we respect them and give them distance despite their sweet cries. Humpback whales and orcas are sighted year round, and chasing fish in the tide pools during minus tides never gets tiring.
