Excellent Condo

The condo was very clean and well appointed. The communication from the owners was great. They truly wanted to make sure everything was ok and you are having a great time. They provide lots of extras like wine, chocolate and cheese which is great after a long days drive. Will definitely stay here again.

Great place

Unit is very nice. Well decorated. Everything needed in the kitchen. Awesome welcome "package". Responsive owner. Beautiful view right on the beach. Don't let the nondescript building bother you . Will stay here next time. come to the area.

Great holiday weekend getaway

The owners were amazing. They checked in on us and were available if we needed anything. The wine, cheese, crackers and pecan pie was a great surprise. Everything was as described. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

Beachfront Treasure

Property is exactly as stated in the description (only better). Easy communication & check-in. The condo was immaculate with welcoming surprises from Scott & Jill ~ wine, cheese/crackers, pie, fresh lillies ~ The living space was not cramped/crowded for 3 & would have been comfortable for 4. The bedrooms were each nice sized each having its own bathroom. The washer/dryer in the condo was an added bonus. Amazing views from the balcony. The beach was not overly crowded even in July. We took our own beach gear but Scott/Jill have ample supplies. Be sure to check out Fort Pickens area (the beaches are beautiful there too), charter fishing was fun and recommend The Grand Marlin for a nice meal! Enjoy your stay as we did. We will definitely be back. Thank you to Scott & Jill for having us!!! bathroom

Our 2nd stay and look forward to the next time

We like this location on Navarre Beach since it is away from the crowded condo area nearer to the pier. The unit is squeaky clean, comfortable, and artistically decorated. The extra touches from the owners in welcoming guest make this a 5+ star experience.

Perfect location

This was our first time staying in the Navarre area and we loved this cute and super clean condo. The location was perfect and had a great view of the beach. Jill and Scott were great hosts and left us a delicious pie and other snacks in the fridge. Such a fun surprise!

Quick Getaway

This was an absolute perfect week getaway for my husband and I. We love Navarre Beach and usually go with kids and rent a house but since it was just the two of us we rented a condo. It was PERFECTION! Jill and Scott checked on us multiple times to insure everything was perfect. We arrived to a frig full of treats and fresh flowers. Couldn’t have had a nicer stay!

Love this Condo

I took my adult kids on a beach vacation and this condo was absolutely wonderful. It is very clean and decorated really cute! We sat on the balcony each morning with our coffee looking at our absolutely beautiful view of the gulf. My family was so excited to see the special goodies that were left for us including a pie in the fridge along with crackers, cheese and a nice bottle of wine. They even had beach chairs and umbrellas to use. It is located in a terrific spot. The hosts were extremely nice and even checked on us to see if there was anything else that we needed. I saved this location and will definitely go back.

After searching the Emerald coast for two years we decided that Navarre Beach would be our hide-out. We were eager to escape our businesses in Maine in the winter and were especially enchanted by the beauty of the beach and gulf as well as like its low key laid back feeling.

We closed late in July in 2004. As we left the closing table my wife remarked that as long as we did not have a hurricane…”all would be great”. Unfortunately that wish was not to be fulfilled as 14 days later, (having never stayed a night in the property) we took a direct hit from hurricane Ivan.

As a Florida native, hurricanes were nothing to be feared and I remember countless “hurricane parties” as a young boy that were really great fun. However hurricane Ivan was a storm of historic proportions and that coupled with our direct Gulf front location created unimaginable destruction.

The repairs took a full 27 months. During the repair period with the building already in a damaged condition, two additional hurricanes hit Navarre adding to the destruction.

When I came to survey the damage, there was no access to the island as the bridge was unpassable. A FEMA ferry took owners to their properties. If you can image, the elevator where you enter at the parking lot was accessible only by use of a ladder as the hurricane had washed approximately 12 feet of “earth” into the sound…(including all water mains, sewers and other under ground infrastructure. The front foundation pilings of the building were in the Gulf. The beach was gone.

However we rebuilt better than before and never looked back, but regrettably know it will certainly happen again.

Navarre Beach is actually located on Santa Rosa Island a 40 mile barrier island bordered by Santa Rosa Sound and the ICW on one side and the Gulf on the other.

The island stretches from Okaloosa County near Destin to the east and Ft Pickens to the West. Much of the island is Department of Defense (DOD) lands and is not accessible to the public.

Navarre Beach is accessible by one of two bridges, the Navarre Bridge to the east and the Pensacola Beach Bridge to the west. There is a toll of $1.00 at the Pensacola Beach Bridge for access from the mainland. However there are no tolls to exit the island.

The geography of the island is in large part responsible for its “quiet” nature of Navarre Beach. Bordered by the DOD to the east, and the Gulf National Seashore to the west, Navarre Beach is a unique oasis, constrained in size by its government neighbors.

Much of the 1978 film Jaws 2 was filmed at Navarre Beach. Hotel scenes in the movie were filmed at the Navarre Beach Holiday Inn, a complex subsequently destroyed by Hurricane Ivan.
