While Lahaina Town is sadly gone and will take a long time to rebuild, there is still much to do. We ziplined on Haleakala, rode horseback at Circle M ranch and went fishing out of Maalaea harbor. And the Cove was packed with turtles as usual.

Gorgeous view, uncomfortable chairs on lanai

The property was wonderful! Well maintained gardens, fabulous snorkeling with soooo many turtles. And at this time of year, March, lots of whales to watch. The pool small but delightful. The view from the lanai was stunning. This is a quiet spot, if you want bars and restaurants don’t come here! The unit owner needs to upgrade their seating on their lanai (deck), incredibly uncomfortable and the occasional chair in the living room was sagging big time. Unit was clean with sufficient supplies.

Reviewer Comments: Before I tear into the condition of 211, I want to state clearly that my wife and I love Honokeana Cove, the grounds, the location, the staff and the amenities. This review, however, will focus on condo #211 and its significant deficiencies and what a poor representation it is of an otherwise wonderful property.I'll start with first impressions. When we entered the property, the dishwasher wasn't functional (and was never repaired during our two week stay), the AC was not cooling and a towel rack was broken and hanging limply from the wall in the first floor bathroom, above which there was an old patch in the ceiling, likely from a leak, that was never painted or finished. Old, cheap, rusting plumbing fixtures populated both bathrooms and all of the low-grade, plastic, faux-metal towel racks were peeling and flaking at the edges. The lighting in the kitchen and bathrooms were old, halogen tubes reminiscent 1980's office buildings. The bath mat and various places on the carpeting were stained. I could delve into further disappointing detail, but hopefully I've made my point clear. This place is sad and, honestly, unacceptable unless offered a some deep discount and a disclaimer that the unit may elicit bad memories of old HoJo stays during college road trips.I fear the owners of this condo have no respect for their unit and certainly none for Honokeana Cove. I never imagined a million dollar property could ever be so sad, shabby and disinvested especially since so many other owners are making their units increasingly nice. We saw many others during our stay and were quite impressed with the majority. I believe #211 is a clear argument for why the HOA should have more exacting minimum standards. A brand can't maintain a quality reputation with units like this.

Beautiful Place to Stay

The pool was nice, the laundry rooms convenient and overall was a great place to be. Our unit could have been a little more comfortable and updated. There were several coffee makers but they didn't all work. I think they just need to put one good new coffee maker in there. The kitchen could be better stocked and organized. I would stay again but in a different unit.

Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Honokeana Cove last December and had a great time so we brought out daughter and two children this June to celebrate her birthday. They had a grand time swimming with the turtles and the tropical fish. Very good location and close to stores. Building and grounds are very well maintained. Everything was clean and in top shape. We hope to be back. Thank you!
