Amazing stay. Extremely relaxing setting and perfect location to explore the north shore beaches and everything else the island has to offer. We traveled with our two young children and the house was tucked away off busy streets and there was plenty for them to explore right outside the front door.Would definitely rent again and loved our special stay in Wainiha.

Kauai Bliss

Unbelievable experience staying at this house for 2 weeks in March. Unbelievable views on front porch, quiet and serene environment, and beautiful house. Reality team was incredibly responsive and helpful when needed and easy communications before arrival. We wanted to disconnect and reset, and this was the perfect place to do it. Close proximity to a myriad of hiking trails, beautiful infant friendly beaches (as you head towards Hanalei), amazing beginner-intermediate surfing in Hanalei Bay, and just all around natural beauty everywhere we looked. Will definitely return ASAP!! Thank you!

Thanksgiving in Kauai

My family and I stayed at this house over Christmas in 2013 and returned for a highly anticipated visit this Thanksgiving. The house is beautiful and immaculately kept. We really enjoyed making meals in the fully equipped kitchen and having breakfast in the Lanai with the beautiful mountain view ahead. Our stay was very comfortable. However, we were very disappointed to learn that the large area of land that the house is located on has since been subdivided and the general ownership of the new neighboring lots is uncertain. For instance, no more than 100 yards from the house, there is a man living in a tent while he constructs his yurt on his new property beginning at 7am and he also uses the only rental house driveway to access his land. Across from the house, there are now a couple of horses but they are beyond a short barbed wire fence and we were not sure exactly who they belong to. We were not told about these changes and found it generally strange and were inconvenienced by having someone so close to a house that we thought would offer privacy. The overall beauty of the house and central location is what made the experience positive.

Please note that this private home is located in an active community, and neighbors who live there are permitted to work on their own property. Although the land was not recently subdivided, the neighbor has decided to construct his home after keeping it vacant for several years. The horses have been in an adjoining yard for many years as well. Haena is a beautiful part of the island and close to several amazing beaches, so weʻre also glad you enjoyed the home's location. We hope you'll stay with us again!

Great views of mountains, location is near best snorkeling beaches

My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay at this cottage. Nicely appointed, quiet (though there be roosters, like everywhere on the island now), and the views of the mountains are beautiful. It is also ideally located to the north shore beaches west of Hanalei. We snorkeled everyday and were close enough to get an early parking spot at Ke'e, Haena, Tunnels, and an even closer beach northwest of the cottage used by many of the kite surfers. The one issue with this house in the summer is that it doesn't catch the trade winds very well because of the orientation of the house to face the mountains and was very hot during the July days we were there. One room that does catch the trade winds is the screened in porch, where we spent late afternoons but has just a dining table and uncomfortable chairs. We moved the wicker chairs in the photo to the screened in porch since this was several degrees cooler. Evenings were fine as it cools down and there are fans. Note that there is no view of the ocean, not even partial, but you are close enough to hear the surf. We still had a great stay and spent most of each day at the beach and made great use of the beach chairs and umbrella that were supplied. Hanalei is a 10 minute drive for snorkel gear, groceries, and restaurants. This is the most beautiful part of the island and definitely would come back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing stay on the north shore in the Hale Oli house. Originally we found the house on Airbnb, but when we saw that Oceanfront Realty managed the rental, we decided to rent directly with them, which made things even smoother. They were quick to answer any questions/enquires we had, the app they use makes communication even easier, and they also offer tips for local activities during your stay.For anyone looking to stay on the north shore in a private home like this, you must be the kind of person who wants this kind of accomodation. Eg, no AC (plenty of fans, but it can get warm), you share your space with adorable creatures like geckos, and there aren't restaurants or stores within walking distance. The stars we could see from the decks were just amazing.If I had to make one recommendation, it would be to have a more detailed list of amenities. Eg, we didn't know the laundry machines were HI, they had an espresso machine we would have totally bought beans for if we had known, there were 4 beach chairs, a cooler, beach umbrella, and beach towels. Kitchen was really well stocked as were the bathrooms! So just more specific info on each property could be useful. We hope to come back soon!

I will note that we were disappointed to find that the house is not as private as the listing/photos lead one to believe. We choose this as it seemed very private. To our surprise, there was a large family living in a yurt right behind the house, and very close to the bedrooms (not exactly private for a honeymoon). They were not inordinately loud other than comings and goings, but it would be nice to know up front and that would have influenced our choice. We weren't overly upset, as what's Kauai without roosters and a family in yurt in the back yard? But...

Our Cozy Respite

From the first day to the last we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it felt like a home away from home. We arrived late so we were pleased to wake up to a beautiful view of the mountains and surrounding greenery. The outdoor spaces were perfect for morning coffee and meals in the lanai. Quiet and tucked away we relished being able to escape from the tourist areas and walk to the nearby beach. The kitchen was fully stocked and the whole house was immaculately clean. We would definitely come back! Thank you for the hospitality :)

Great House

Very nice home. We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and comfortable and close to the beach. The chickens and horses were friendly too! If we return to Kauai we will definitely stay here again.

Nice, clean place in a good location

We were happy with our stay here, the house is airier than it appeared in the photos, and has a screened in dining area as well as two comfortable porches. There are no other houses visible from the house, and seeing rainbows against the mountains over the horse pasture was amazing. The chickens are loud, as everywhere on Kauai. It's not a homely place per se, it feels like a vacation rental, which was fine for us. The kitchen was spacious and nice, with everything needed to cook. It's a 20 minute walk down to Tunnels, and Hanalei is a 15 min drive. I never end up go back to the same places, but would probably stay here again.

Lovely spacious very comfortable getaway

We stayed in June 2016. The house is beautifully decorated, very clean and airy with a lovely mountain view where you can see frequent rainbows. All amenities were thoughtfully provided and communication with the provider was easy and quick. Ke'e and Tunnels beaches are a short drive away. The perfect spot to explore the North Shore's immense beauty, including the Na Pali coast! Tip: The Hanalei Day Spa is within walking distance and provides excellent services.

Quiet gem on the North Shore of Kauai

We rented the property via Oceanfront Realty. As of Mar 2016 the house is very good condition. It is located in a quiet residential area on the North Shore of Kauai. You can walk to the beach. It is a short drive to Hanalei (Hanalei has good restaurants and shops) and Princeville or Kee beach. When we arrived the building was professionally cleaned and Oceanfront Realty did everything on make the arrival smooth and easy. I would recommend this property to my friends and also consider renting it again. We had a great time.
