Lakefront - Hyggeligt hjem - Steel Lake

Dear Emily and Family, We enjoyed you 5 good looking, clean, and fantastic Guests at our beautiful Lake home. Thank you for the feed back. Since hot weather, above 90 degrees is rare in Seattle, ventilation has not been a problem. We do have portable fans for the living room as requested. Bedroom has fan and bathroom has screened window. Thank you for the feedback. We will make it a practice to have the portable fan for Guests to use any and all times instead of requesting. Once again, thanks a million for being our awesome Guests.

Sorry Kermit. Our condition is if you bring more people than on reservation you need to pay. You agreed and promised to pay and didn’t. So we have to charge to your credit card. Sorry for both your and my unpleasant experience. Kathy

Sorry, we did not meet your expectations. We have been in this business for many years, and throughout our years, the walkways and steps are even, safe, and include a secure handrail for additional safety. Our yard has been praised by past customers and reflected in some of our reviews. Some customers have related our yard and gardens to a mini Butchart Gardensd (Victoria, BC). So we don’t understand your comment of un-kept grounds. We couldn’t find the protruding rebar nor concrete blocks mentioned. In all our checkout instructions, we don’t include a location to place the key. We were unaware that you checked out until your husband called, so we couldn’t have given those checkout instructions. As for the lake, lots of people swim in lake throughout the summer, every year, including us. The lake may not be as clean as a normal swimming pool, however, there is nothing we can do about that. The dock is used to tie up two paddle boats and 1 kayak for use by both of our adjacent properties. Most Guests spend time sightseeing and the watercraft are rarely used. You booked 3 days with us, not four. Your husband told me that you had to leave due to a family need. Hence you stayed only 2 days with us. We provided 12 towels for the bathroom alone. 4 people for 3 days. Total towels provided for the unit was 17. We repeatedly mentioned during your stay that if you need anything, please let us know. We never heard any mention of needing additional towels. In fact after you left, there were still clean towels folded neatly in the bathroom. The stove surface is scratched due to our cleaning up from previous customer’s burnt food. The surface was definitely not dirty. The oven was clean and additionally protected with a Turkey baking pan at the bottom to catch grease. We require all Guests to keep the Turkey pan to provide a cleaner oven for our guests.

For future Guests information, this Guest wanted to book for a lower cost property. the lower cost property is booked so we offer this higher end but newly listed for her to stay - since not many lodging available left. She got upgraded to this higher end at no additional cost (instead of $75 more per night) property that she is providing the review on. We sure will put more proper and professional looking signs. We don't want to have all capacity (2 bedrooms, 8 people) priced when some people don't need it. Most family wants only 1 bathroom and wants to pay for one. Others, if they need 2 will need to pay for two bathrooms. We price based on number of people. This Guest wants to have 8 people to stay but put on reservation of 4 so she would pay less. We operate our business with honesty and we expect our Guests to do the same. The tape on the lock - to prevent - people locking the door and lock themselves out of the room. It happened with other properties that we had. So we implement no locking bedroom. In hotels or other houses, no locking bedroom is possible for the same reason. Camera sign outside is to deter other people that should not be on the property - to protect Guests staying at the property.

Dear Robert and Marcy. Thank you for the constructive and friendly feedback. We will supply more smaller pots. We have thought and probably will provide kayak and/or stand-up paddle boat. We have not done that only because these items are more difficult to use and might not be safe for children. In addition, the probability of losing the oars is very high. We are doing everything we can to keep the cost down and be affordable for our Guests. Even faster internet and more channels (currently we have approx 500 channels) will increase cost for all Guests. We will definitely look into what we can do based on your recommendation. Thank you so much for being our wonderful Guests. We are looking forward to seeing you and the family again.
