We had an absolutely relaxing stay with our friends. We had plenty of room, and really enjoyed being just a few minute walk from the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the picture windows. The hosts were very informative, supportive and quick to respond.

Perfect location for a book club group doing a weekend getaway! The separate spaces were perfect for those who wanted to go to bed early vs those who wanted to stay up. The kitchen was stocked with all the tools we needed to cook a nice pasta dinner (big pots/pans/bowls). The location was perfect as it was only short walk down to the beach. We loved our stay and would definitely come back again!!

Great large group space

Our friend group had a lovely long weekend here. We have stayed at a couple of their places and they are all great. The walk to the beach is so pretty and quick. The outdoor area was perfect for sunset views and meals all together. We really enjoyed our stay!

Family reunion

We enjoyed our stay there at Crabalope. The patio was wonderful, and the walk to the beach easy. The grandchildren enjoyed the arcade room and the adults the hot tube.

Well maintained property

Well maintained property. Owner and rental agent were very easy to work with. Our family really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back!

Three Generations at the Beach

We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation at this well located property. We appreciated the beautiful views, easy access to the beach, and parking for three vehicles and a boat. The children enjoyed the arcade. We would stay at this property again.

Crabalope Family Get Together

We booked this property for a family get together with 4 families (7 adults and 7 kids ages 1-8 years), and it was absolutely perfect! The communication with the property manager was excellent. The location is absolutely amazing. The house is a wonderful set up for multiple families and kids of all ages! We would love to come back in the future!

Rockaway Beach, Our Favorite Vacation Spot!

A perfect place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our kids and grandkids. Perfect for our family of ten. A bedroom for everyone, area between to houses perfect to BbQ and hangout. Short walk to beach, game room fun, everything we could ask for! Host was very quick to respond to questions we had. The only thing wrong was the time was too short.

Hot tub and Sunsets at the Beach

Our family had a fun time. There was a nice mix of relaxing and activities close by. The big ceder trailhead was just two minutes away. The hot tub on the deck overlooking the sunset and ocean was the main perk. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach. We only wish we were RIGHT on the beach for my 78 year old mom, and that we could have a fire on the property, because the beach was very windy the night we tried to have one.

Lovely stay

We had a wonderful stay. The backyard and location couldn’t not have been more perfect for our children to get to make short trips to the beach or just play in the sand in the yard. We came with another family and two made it a wonderful opportunity to have as much time together or some privacy when needed. The owners were always so quick to answer any questions. Our kids are already asking to go back. Thank you.

Elbow room and privacy for all

Great location. An easy short walk to the beautiful beach! We did a lot of cooking. The kitchens were well stocked. Only disappointment was the barbecue on the deck. Needs to be replaced. The kids and grandkids loved the arcade. Actually, so did us grandparents! The hot tub was a pleasant surprise, clean and hot. Maneuvering the cover was a bit challenging. Needs replacing. All in all a FABULOUS time was had at the Crabalope! Thank you, Sadie, for being super responsive to ALL of my questions.

Not Well Maintained

The location and beach were great. This could be a very special property but, unfortunately, it hasn't been maintained very well. Siding is falling apart. Ivy is crawling up the exterior of the homes. North cottage bathroom fan didn't work and there was black stuff growing on the ceiling. We had an unfortunate encounter with a rodent. South cottage had a bad smell, likely caused by rot or something dead in the walls, that had us keeping all the windows open, even at night. Exterior light timer was off and some lights were out so property entry was very dark.

Thank you for your feedback Nathan - we appreciate hearing from guests about issues in the home. We do have a monthly service from Orkin and we let them know of the issues you encountered and they came out for an additional visit. We also had our electrician out last weekend to repair the exterior lights and install a new bathroom fan. We do a large project each spring on that Ivy and the large bushes throughout the property but by the end of summer it's already ready for another one! We'll make sure to schedule that as well! A perfect layout for an extended family (we had 4 generations) that allowed easy together time but also separate spaces for those breaks every family inevitably needs! Each unit had 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining area plus outdoor spaces that connected for outdoor living. The downstairs bedroom is separate and provided a 5th bedroom suitable for grownups. The two main spaces are accessed via a wide staircase leading up from the parking area; the lower bedroom is at ground level with the parking/street level.Furnishings, dishes, pans etc were not fancy but adequate. We had kids and dogs and were happy to not be in a showroom. The kids had so much fun in the evenings in the arcade room with ping pong, foosball, and a variety of video games plus the south unit had a supply of games, and the unit also had a variety of beach/outdoor toys. The hot tub worked great and seated 5-6.The walk to the beach is a short sandy stroll through the dunes (maybe 100 yards?) which drops down to the beach immediately in front of the twin rocks. The beach is wide, long, sandy and a great place for playing or a leisurely stroll. There is a wheelchair accessible trail about 3 blocks north of the unit if you have anyone that could benefit from easier access to the beach. Groceries in Rockaway are limited so definitely come prepared--for shelf stable needs Dollar General was great. The scenic train ride was great!Mgmt was great; would stay again!

Had a great stay at the property! Perfect for two families and a mother-in-law. Two separate living quarters with two bedrooms in each house with living room and kitchen plus a basement apartment (for either a couple or your mother-in-law). The only drawback is in the south house: the shower is very small and a 'big" person will not fit in it. The shower in the north house is a normal size. The shower in the basement is a good normal size as well. It's very quiet at night, you will sleep like a rock. The beach is literally less than a 5 minute walk out the back....a walkway trail to the beach with the best view around. Hot tub works well and was a great way to relax a little bit. Arcade, though, dated was fun for the kids....table tennis and Pac-Man were the favorites. Property is pet friendly. The host was very informative with the information we needed to have a great time at the beach getaway.

Amazing Stay for my 50th!

This place is magical in every way! If you have a few friends or are a larger group, this place is perfect. The view is to die for and you're steps from the beach. I went for a morning run the first morning and it was amazing! We took advantage of the area and went exploring during the day. The host's food recommendations were spot on ! Fish n chips delish! The hot tub and stars by night were exceptional. I know some folks don't are about this details, but the beds were dreamy! A good night's sleep after a day's adventure is such an added plus! Thank you to the hosts for making this 50th birthday truly special in such a great home(s).

Perfect for 2 families

Wonderful Oregon coast vacation! This property was great for our group (2 families with 2 kids apiece and a dog). The big deck was our outdoor living room and where we ate most meals! The photos and description are accurate. It was just so nice to be right by the dune and be able to come and go from the beach easily. The hot tub was lovely in the evening for stargazing. I’d love to return for another trip.
