Awesome Place!

Beautiful cabin that was stocked with everything we needed, comfortable beds and an incredible view! Conveniently located to many outdoor activities like whitewater rafting, ziplining, hiking, etc. Really enjoyed our stay and Albert was great to work with.

Great views, very well stocked kitchen.

Very nice mountain views, privacy, and an extremely well stocked kitchen. Hard to beat those NC sunsets.

Nice Cabin w/ Mountain View

We enjoyed our stay very much in this clean and comfortable cabin. The owner was very responsive to any questions and gave us plenty of information to prepare for our stay. The view was great, there is ample outdoor seating and the cabin itself was in very good condition.

Great cabin!

This cabin is very cozy and comfortable. No complaints whatsoever. Great communication with the host, has everything you will need to enjoy your time away from everything and be able to relax.

Lost River

We loved our weekend in the mountains. The cabin was secluded but the views were amazing. The owner was easy to get ahold of and the cabin had everything.

Quick getaway for a rafting trip

Great location. Steep gravel driveway… took us a while to get the hang of getting up the driveway in the dark without spinning out… but we did it! Beautiful views. Comfy beds. Will stay again if we get the chance.

Perfect mountain view for outdoor fun

Our family of 4 loved this cabin. The view was exactly as pictured with a great deck to enjoy it from. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We stayed for a week, so enjoyed having the extra loft space for our boys and a full kitchen. The owner was very responsive for quick questions. Location is very close to all of the Nantahala activities- rafting/hiking/biking/lakes.

Beautiful and Serene

This cabin is in a wonderful location. The views are amazing. I loved sitting out in the morning and enjoying my coffee in this absolutely peaceful setting. It is just down the road from the Nantahala Outdoor Center and a short drive to Bryson City. The host was extremely responsive when we had any questions or issues. I would highly recommend this cabin.

Beautiful view

Make sure you are driving an AWD vehicle. We couldn’t get up the hill. 😬 Spectacular view and well equipped kitchen. Loved the fire pit area.

As Advertised & Enjoyable

Very nice property. Secluded. Clean and well-furnished. The gravel road is steep but not too long and we had no trouble getting up/down with a 4-door sedan (this was in the summer with only a little rain over the 3 days we stayed). Host was responsive and helpful.

Look no further, BEST CABIN EVER!!

We booked this cabin due to its seclusion and view of the Smoky Mountains. It met every expectation we had on our "Must Have" list - cleanliness, a kitchen with everything we needed to cook our Whole30 menu, Wifi and a TV to keep up with March Madness, an outside eating area and a fire pit, a hot tub, and quiet areas inside and out to read or take a nap. Not only that, there were short hikes, a mountain stream, gorgeous sunrises, and a very romantic setting. We LOVED it!

nice mountain get away

Beautiful secluded cabin with nice mountain views. Well equipped kitchen and all spaces are inviting - dining table with views, living room with fireplace, deck with hot dub, large fire pit with more views, ... Only the mattresses were a bit soft for us, but that is a matter of taste. Communication with owner was fast and very useful. Highly recommended.

Just what I was looking for

From start to finish this experience was great. The cabin could not have been any lovelier. I was looking for a secluded place with a great view and hot tub. Got exactly that. And Doc was easily accessible, kind and helpful. Thank you for providing the perfect place for my 50th birthday vacation.

Wonderful Nantahala Adventure

We had an amazing time at Lost River Lodge! Property was just as described and perfect for our family of 4. Very easy and friendly communication with the owner. The view is amazing and the decks give you plenty of outdoor living space to enjoy them. Our family enjoyed a week full of local activities such as: zip lining, horseback riding, hiking in the Smokey Mountains, Nantahala Forest, Appalachian Trail, and fell in love with the very close NOC. Overall a wonderful vacation and the absolute perfect place to stay! Thank you!

Loved it!

Wonderful cabin! My husband and I enjoyed the views and the quiet time together. Spending our nights by the fire pit was a favorite of ours. Of all the places we have rented over the years together, this cabin had the best pots and pans ever! Weird thing to say but we cook in a lot and I appreciated the quality of the cookware - not the usual rental stuff. Thank you!

Incredible Mountain Cabin

This cabin far exceeded all expectations! The property is private and has stunning views. The fire pit and decks and hot tub offer multiple outside areas to enjoy time together. The cabin is fully stocked with everything I needed, way more than most VRBO homes. While this was so peaceful and remote, it’s a very short drive from NOC and each day we enjoyed the activities around and on the Nantahala River, then a quick drive “home” for a little rest by the fire pit. I will be coming back again soon, this was a special place…

Beautiful view and solitude !

This house gave us the privacy and quiet we were hoping for in a mountain top cabin. The view of the Nantahala forest from the back decks was just beautiful! We enjoyed using the hot tub and the gas grill. The house was well stocked with kitchen and linen goods. The House was also well located to many great hikes in the area. The owner was extremely responsive. Our one challenge was the incline on the gravel road getting up to the house after the rain. The owner says he is already working to remedy. This house was great for solitude and the view.

Thank you Lisa. Unfortunately, the area experienced severe weather, and unusually heavy rains, which damaged the road, just prior to, and during your stay. In fact, the rains and subsequent flooding were so severe, prior to your stay, that at least one of the main roads in the area washed out and remains closed. We usually have the road graded twice a year and new gravel added when necessary. This has always seemed to keep the road in excellent condition. Due to the recent weather occurrence, we, the other home owners on the road, and myself, have contracted with an excavation company, to install three culverts on the road which we have been told, will eliminate the issue with the hill, should we ever experience these types of weather conditions in the future.

Great views

This is a great option close to the NOC! Beautiful views and an awesome outdoor area to enjoy. Pro tip: it takes the hot tub a few hours to get cooking, so turn it on earlier in the day you plan to use it or at the beginning of your trip! Dr. A was super communicative if we had any questions. One note: the owner mentioned the road was getting regraded soon and there had obviously been heavy rains and recent slides throughout the region, we came in two cars and were unable to make it all the way up to the property in the vehicle that didn’t have all-wheel drive. Dr. A helped us find a safe place to park the car, but just something to be aware of if you have the option to bring an all-wheel or four-wheel drive car to the area. The coffee pot is a Keurig in case you’re shopping before heading up :) Would definitely stay again!

Seclusion

Location was exactly what we were looking for.The host was exceptional . He took care of some unforseen and unavoidable issue with the Jacuzzi while he was at Disney with his family.

Lost River Lodge

My husband and I have always loved the Nantahala area and were looking for a relaxing getaway. The Lost River Lodge was just the place! The view from the deck was amazing, especially in the morning and evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, hammock, fire pit, and the peace and quiet. The kitchen was very well stocked. We had one disastrous breakfast one morning when we couldn't find any nonstick frying pans and tried to cook eggs and hash browns in a regular metal pan. If I had texted the host sooner, we would have known there were 3 nonstick frying pans "hiding" in the stove drawer directly under the oven.😣 The cabin was very clean and the furniture comfortable. The main floor bedroom's bed was a little too soft for us and a bit squeaky, but not a show stopper. The road leading up to the cabin was a bit overgrown with brambles, but passable. AWD is definitely a big help getting up the steep incline. Albert, the host, was very responsive to any questions and even reached out a couple of times just to check on us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thanks, Albert, for sharing your lovely cabin and view!

A perfect hideaway to escape the world

From start to finish, the host was a dream to communicate with. The cabin is clean, comfortable and perfectly appointed. The view of Nantahala Gorge is breathtaking and star gazing at night was a beautiful way to end each day, as was the roaring fire in the gorgeous fire pit. I highly recommend this cabin if you want to get away from it all and spend quality time with the person/people in your life. Thank you, Dr. A! We will definitely be back!

Magical cabin

Best place I’ve rented, by a mile! The scenery was breathtaking, and the cabin beautiful, well-appointed, and meticulously clean. The host was lovely to communicate with- very responsive, clear, and friendly. Everything as pictured. I loved it and will book again as my schedule allows.
