Columbia Heights has been home to our family for more than 25 years. It is where our children were born and raised, and where we have celebrated countless holidays, birthdays, family dinners, and everyday moments together. The walls of this house are filled with wonderful memories, and it has always been a place where friends and family feel welcome.

Now that our children are off to college and beginning their own adventures, we are delighted to open our home to families and travelers visiting Washington, D.C. Whether you are here to explore the city, visit family, tour colleges, attend a special event, or simply enjoy time together, we want the house to feel comfortable, welcoming, and genuinely lived in—not like an impersonal rental.

After so many years in Washington, we have a deep appreciation for the city and especially for the energy, diversity, and neighborhood character of Columbia Heights. The location offers a wonderful balance: easy access to Washington’s museums, monuments, restaurants, universities, and cultural attractions, while still giving guests the experience of staying in an established residential neighborhood.

We understand how important the details are when traveling, particularly with family or a larger group. Our goal is to provide a clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared home where everyone can settle in, relax, share meals, and enjoy their time together.

We chose Columbia Heights more than 25 years ago because it felt like a true neighborhood in the heart of Washington—a diverse, energetic community where we could raise our children while remaining connected to everything the city has to offer.

Over the years, we have watched the neighborhood grow and evolve, but it has never lost the character that first drew us here. Tree-lined residential streets sit alongside locally owned restaurants, cafés, shops, parks, and gathering places. It is lively and urban, yet it also has the familiarity and warmth of a neighborhood where people know one another.

The location has always been one of its greatest advantages. Guests can easily explore Washington’s monuments, museums, universities, historic neighborhoods, sporting events, and cultural attractions, then return to a comfortable residential home at the end of the day. The Columbia Heights Metro station, multiple bus routes, bike options, and nearby walkable destinations make it possible to experience much of the city without depending on a car.

We also love that Columbia Heights offers visitors a more authentic Washington experience. You are close to the city’s most famous attractions, but you are staying in a community where Washingtonians actually live, raise families, walk their dogs, meet friends, and enjoy neighborhood restaurants.

For our family, it has been an ideal place to call home—welcoming, convenient, interesting, and connected. Our children grew up here, and many of our favorite family memories began in this neighborhood. We hope our guests enjoy discovering its personality and experiencing Washington from a local perspective.

What makes our property unique is that it is first and foremost a real family home—one that has been loved, cared for, and filled with memories for more than 25 years. It was not designed as an impersonal short-term rental. It has the warmth, character, and comfort of a home where children were raised, holidays were celebrated, and friends and family have gathered for decades.

The house offers generous living and dining spaces where families and groups can comfortably spend time together, whether sharing a meal, relaxing after a day of sightseeing, or planning the next day’s Washington adventure. The updated kitchen, bathrooms, and dining areas provide modern comfort while preserving the personality and residential character of the home. The private patio provides an additional place to enjoy morning coffee, an evening drink, or a quiet moment outdoors.

The property’s flexible layout—including a separate lower-level apartment—offers additional space and privacy for extended families, multiple generations, couples traveling together, or guests who appreciate having room to spread out. It allows everyone to stay under one roof while still enjoying distinct living areas.

The location is equally special. Guests can experience Washington from an established residential neighborhood while remaining close to the Metro and the city’s museums, monuments, universities, restaurants, entertainment, and cultural destinations. After a full day exploring the city, you can return to a spacious and comfortable home rather than a hotel room.
