We love our little gem of a house on the bay we gaze endlessly at the changing colors and Patterns of the sea waiting to see if the Atlantic waves will crest in the inlet We’ve arranged everything around this forever changing beauty. Soft white couch hammock hot tub teak lounge chairs and stairs leading down to our bay beach for long walks and quiet contemplation But we are near enough to our town with night life art and great food in case you want to get in the action !

I have been renting our homes in various places (we have a light filled house on a mesa in New Mexico too its #300908 on this website) but I have never had such lovely guests---and they not only enjoyed our house but brought their cat for its enjoyment! watching the birds , the monarchs and the squirrels perhaps? Our house sits high above the Shinnecock Bay and its changing light and colors are mesmerizing. Its what creates that special east end light that has enchanted generations of artists (some of which you can see in the new spectacular Parrish art museum). It's also home to all the delicious fish we buy at Corj's and those juicy clams with garlic and cilantro.... and of course the bay flounder. We've been keeping a home in this wonderful enclave in Southampton since 1988 ---its an easy ride from New York because you get off the highway before the horrendous traffic starts---and because of the miraculous bay. Hot tub or cozy couch, hammock or lounge chair you are certain to find peace and comfort in our perfect little gem on the sea.

We have just listed our home on this site and we tried very hard to have everything possible in the house with comfort and enjoyment in mind. (Kiwi is our first tenant, our first reviewed a very pleasant experience) Naps in the hammock on the sea? yes! hot tub at night with mood lighting? yes! down filled couch? comfortable beds great linens beautiful art and furnishings? yes! we love this little gem of a home designed by Preston Phillips that we just purchased and lavished our love on---we hope you will love it too. And don't forget that not only will you see the ocean from the house but you can drive to it easily---as well as great fish fresh veggies good bread and the best flagels in New York.

We certainly appreciate the guests who have shown such an appreciation for the care we have taken with our beautifully designed architectural home by the sea. We have filled it with soft sofas to nap on, great art to gaze on, and a sea view that changes every minute of the day ----no wonder so many artists came out to the East End to paint. It is a precious place and we have tried to think of everything that would make your stay here comfortable ---because it is not only a rental but our home which we enjoy year round but happily share it with you.

That was a great compliment from a woman who is a designer herself --that she really appreciates the care that Preston Phillips took in designing our sweet home by the sea. He was so clever with the placement of mirrors and lights so the house is as beautiful at night as it is in the day. We have tried to think of every comfort for our guests---good beds nice linens beach supplies condiments and cosy couches to nap. or perhaps a nap in the hammock by the sea? and though they were in the house during some gray rainy days( they made the most of the incredible Parrish Museum) they loved walking the bay in slickers and drinking excellent espresso in town. And the fish from Corj's is amazing on our gas bbq.

opps someone must have taken the shampoo there were two beautiful big bottles! I will make sure it gets restocked for your visit. It is indeed a quiet old neighborhood (we watched the mom next door grow up on our block and have a daughter of her own) friendly and helpful if you need anything on your visit just ask Chuck! (he's next door). The architect, Preston Phillips, will be happy to hear that his design for the house is not only beautiful but feels good!. And there is lots of great grocery shopping in both Hampton Bays and Southampton---fancy or plain expensive or cheap and lots of fresh local veggies and fresh fish from the Shinnecock fishing fleet. And if you don't want to cook in our sweet kitchen then there are some great restaurants and of course our new Citerella for gourmet take out! Our guest failed to mention the hammock hot tub and lounge chairs in the yard with the view of the bay and ocean beyond. And the steps down to the beach for more chair sitting and contemplation or maybe more drinking and thinking? We have tried to think of everything to make your visit memorable. And we love sharing our sea side delight with all of you.

These were delightful guests are the first ones to try kayaking in the Shinnecock Bay. Its a beautiful bay that has changed over the years into a perfect spot to windsurf kayak or just sit in the hot tub and look. (and for seals to take a nap) We look directly at the Shinnecock inlet with the ocean waves visible to the naked eye. The famous East End light on the water is forever changing---and our steps down to the shoreline is a perfect spot for a morning walk. (or to walk your dog) We've tried to make our sweet little gem of a house totally comfortable in every season ---a hammock for the summer, soft couches for reading in the fall, a fireplace for the winter---and year round the beautiful incredible bay. No wonder artists flock to this seaside resort, and sportsmen love it, and fishermen fish it---and us? we just our thankful for our chance to live on this bay and share it with you!

Yes its time the monarchs head to their winter home and they also seem to like to stop on their way at our home. its amazing to see them with the bay sparkling and the ocean crashing into the inlet. There are plenty of cozy vantage points of this beautiful view---a hammock the hot tub a feather filled couch or simply to walk down the steps to the sea. We have just renovated the house with a new AC/heating system, new washer dryer, new dishwasher, new big ass fans, painted inside and out etc etc to make our home as cozy and efficient as possible so you merely have to stare at the sea and truly relax. We just love it too!
