Incredible place, amazing views and an authentically-Italian experience.

We had an absolutely blast at Villa Murat. Carla and the villa staff made us feel very welcome and well looked after. The villa is beautiful, as are the sprawling gardens, terraces and pool. We had the 'welcome dinner' on the front terrace which was a highlight. It's just outside of Massa Lubrense which is perfect as it's quieter but easy enough to get into the town, as well as into Positano/Sorrento etc. Would highly recommend Villa Murat!

Villa Relocated

Eight long time friends enjoyed a wonderful week in Massa Lubrense. We were relocated to another villa since Capriana was undergoing renovations during our vacation. This new villa was authentic Italy complete with an olive grove and lemon trees. The view was breathtaking. Our host, Carmela, was divine. The property management company (Sam) was extremely helpful. I highly recommend this vacation on the Amalfi Coast.

A Gem By the Sea

Villa Capriana is truly a gem by the sea, with a spectacular view of Capri and the Gulf of Napoli. There are multiple terraces to choose from outside and a roof top terrace too, the grounds are magnificent and make a wonderful place for children to play. The pool is beautiful- I hope next time we get to use it, it was a little to cool for us in March. The Villa is very comfortable, we had 10 people ranging from age 9 to 76. The gorgeous ceilings are tradional frescos, tiled floors, amazing artifacts, maps and antiques. All impeccable and very tasteful. The breakfast we had each morning was out of this world, fresh eggs, veggies, prosciutto, cheese, pastries, cereals, juices, coffee/ tea and more. Unbelievable. And the wonderful team of people taking care of us.... Carla, Allesandro and Mariolina...10 stars, they are first class. Carla noticed from my Father's passport his birthday was coming up and she offered to make him a cake- SO sweet! They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. And Marolina's smile is infectious! Villa Capriana is truly a gem by the Sea.

Amazing place with amazing view

This is a place with a beautiful view, great and spacious rooms in the historical villa we liked a lot. Everything that one needs is nearby and easily accessible, ideal by foot or by car. Restaurant is only 200 meters away from the Villa and they even can bring you orders direct to the villa. The staff was also great and provided us with everything that we need. The villa itself and the surrounding was pleasant and well kept. The time we have spent there is what I call a great holiday. Stuff , great location and view on the sea and Capri made our vacation magnificent.

Amazing Italian villa and great staff

Villa is wonderful and it has been built in traditional Italian style, something not that is seen every day. Beautiful garden where you can relax, have meals or just a glass of nice domestic wine. Great staff that was constantly at our service. They have fulfilled all our wishes. Sitting in the gardens and breading the air of nearby trees and the view on the see is just gorges.

Beautiful villa location and stuff

Villa it self with beautiful terraces and the pool has made our holiday wonderful. I also want to mention great staff that has made us very welcome. I will remember our great and pleasant dinners at the villas terraces with the beautiful view on the see and Capri and Sorrento coast. Although villa is private it is also very close to everything that we needed. Shops, restaurants... Everything.

Amazing stay and friendly staff

We arrived from France later than it was planed, Carla waited on us late in the night, have a welcome drink , basket with initial food and even it was not ordered by us, they made a dinner that night. The food the chef made is incredible, we enjoyed. Thank you for that extra. We had a dream vacation in your villa, both the location and the villa itself is wonderful. Stuff was very helpfull and friendly. Garden is so nice with a lot of trees , green and many places that you can sit and enjoy, well kept , big and the view on the Capri Island and Sorrento bay is magnificient. By the returning to our home in France in the evening, we made it strange to say that we would not find each other again in the morning. Once again, thank you all for the warm welcome. Thanks Giovanna for her qualities of hostess, thanks to Laura for her exquisite cuisine, and thank you to all the others for the comfort they gave us. My parents joining in greetings with me and show our love and our thanks We will come back in when we made decission to have our new vacation at the Amalfi coast. C.Lambert

Wonderful! Wonderful!

Our group had a fabulous time. Great views, private yet accessible; restaurants, groceries, harbor nearby either by walking or car. The staff was attentive, flexible, and available yet unobtrusive. They were very helpful in arranging special outings as well as our chef-prepared dinner, which by the way, was exquisite. The grounds were well-kept and secure. The villa was charming, well-maintained and everything the pictures lead one to expect. Our nine days there were the highlight of our 3 weeks in Italy.

Stunning views, perfect staff

First of all: the views from the grounds are amazing, the staff Mariolina and Carla are wonderfull. Nothing is too much, the work they do is amazing. Garden is well maintained, house from the outside too. But in the house: the amenities (beds, closets, sofas, kitchen, bathrooms) are really out of date. Sofas where you fall through when you sit in them, television not working, bed in the main room is horrible (did not sleep well for 2 weeks), kitchen is from another century (not usable), bathrooms almost no water coming through… The staff is doing what they can to maintain the house well, but it needs to be renovated. There is no airco, we knew that, but if you keep the windows open at night there are people gathering in front of the house to drink, make music, and to party all evening and night. So it got really hot in the house. This in combination with the horrible beds is no fun. I think the place is suited to do events and parties, but not for a family to have a 2 weeks holiday.Cooking is impossible and the furniture is so tired there's no comfort at all.

We have fully renovated the villa in 2019 and it looks even better now and it has air condition now in all rooms. Beautiful and Spectacular

Firstly, it is reknowned locally as Villa Murat. Spacious is only a minor description of both the villa and grounds. The staff treated us as royally. We had a view of the Isle of Capri just to the west of us. Wonderful restaurants but breakfast each day was sumptuously provided by staff. We also had our own kitchen. The swimming pool was great for cooling off and relaxation. I recommend this villa highly.

Facility,staff, & service above all expectations

Fantastic facility & staff Carla treated us as royalty and provided assistance in all our needs. She provided scheduling for all our excursions and they went off like clockwork. The vlla staff provided superior breakfast and the room service was perfect. We loved the ambience of the Villa and grounds. Highly recommend this property.

Amazing, relaxing, gorgeous views, worry free

So impressed The staff was amazing. Breakfast each a.m. was a feast and a celebration. Couldn’t ask for anything better Carla was incredible. She organized our trips ,, they were worry free and all our tours went without a hitch. Guides and drivers all gave us unique options and wonderful dining experiences. The Villa is gorgeous. Views to die for. We loved being near small villages with great walking, hiking options. The small markets were amazing. Fresh vegetables and fruit. Best vacation ever. We love Italy and will return

Dream within a dream

We loved everything about our weeklong stay at Villa Capriana. Staff was lovely and always ready to help. Breakfasts were delicious and full of different options. Garden is huge with so many different places to enjoy and pool is a sweet spot for relaxation. Such closeness and views of Capri island are one could only dream about. We felt like kings, not tourists. We will definitely be returning back. Thanks Villa Capriana!

“Wonderful Italian villa in an incredible location surrounded by friendly people make for the trip o

THE VILLA: We stayed at Villa Capriana for a week with another couple. It is a magnificent villa with incredible water views on 3 sides and an incredible view towards Capri. The staff at the villa is wildly friendly and the morning breakfast complete with Italian cappacinos was a great start to an adventure everyday, If you are looking for a 5 star American hotel - this is not it. It is a charming and beautifully restored 17th century villa. The beds are comfortable, the armoires in each room are ample in size to hang clothes (although I'd like to see a few more hangers . . . ) and the showers and tubs in each bathroom are nice although running more than one shower at the same time reduced water pressure so we quickly learned to stage our showers. The pool and the grounds of the villa are BEAUTIFUL and the views from sunrise to sunset cannot be beat. We did not cook and nor did we have anyone come in to cook for us but the kitchen looked well appointed and I imagine we certainly could have created wonderful lunches and/or dinners. THE AREA: The villa is located at the tip of the Pennisula so it is in between the Amalfi coast and the Sorrento. It was fabulous for the 4 of us as it is out of the hustle and bustle of all the tourists. There are many great restaurants less than 10 minutes away and some will even come pick you up and drop you off. Driving is an adventure and we opted to rent scooters for the week which worked out perfectly. You do need courage and a motorcycle license in order to be able to rent scooters . . . SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES: Scooter rental as suggested above created easy access to ride and see the entire Amalfi Coast all the way to Ravello which is very charming and Villa Ruffolo should not be missed. Private boat trip to Capri including the bustling but beautiful Blue Grotto, swimming in the Mediterranean and if you can stand the crowds take a cab up to the town of Capri and Ana Capri (I lasted 10 minutes with all the people . . .) We spent a day in Positano which also is bustling with people but worth the crowd (lunch at Chez Black) and a day in Sorrento which was also busy but fun to see Marina Grande and Marina Piccolo and all the history in the area. The highlight of the trip was renting a private boat for about $250 for the day plus another $50 for fuel. We had a certified boat captain in our group but I think they will rent a boat to anyone that has some experience and sense of adventure. We swam in the beautiful waters of the

Excellent villa with caring and attentive service

Our family of 7 stayed here for a week and had the most amazing and memorable time. Beautiful location with fantastic views, great rooms and gardens and the most loving team taking care of us from preparing delicious breakfasts to arranging great outings including bookings in the local restaurant, a boat tour around Capri, sightseeing at Sorrento, recommendations of beaches and walks. All of us - young and old - loved it and we will be back!

The perfect villa with the best staff!

Villa Murat is a historic villa that has been impeccably updated and renovated. It maintains the gracious feeling of a historic building with all the comforts one expects from a five star hotel. The grounds are beautifully cultivated and there are numerous terraces and each offers a different view of the sea and the Amalfi coast. It is the daily service of the house manager, caretaker and cleaning person that made this stay so special. All three went above and beyond to ensure that all in our group had the perfect vacation. We definitely hope and plan to return for another momentous family vacation!

Wonderful villa and service

Villa Capriana is the most beautiful place in the world. The accommodations are worthy of kings and queens and that's what we felt like staying with Carla & Giovanni who took great care with us. My many, many thanks for making my 50th Birthday the best ever!! We will be back.
