Excellent stay

We stayed at Cranberry Hill for three nights in the Harbor View suite and it was lovely!! The apartment was really comfortable and spacious. It was so peaceful and Serene that we felt like we were the only guests. Patty was wonderful. We can't wait to come back!!

The property was even nicer than pictured. Comfortable living area with partial harbor view, fully equipped bathroom and kitchen, large comfortable bed - all very clean, fantastic location.

SW harbor is a perfect place to stay and this is a spacious apt for a long week to hang out in.

Great experience. Coffee in the morning or glass of wine at then end of a day out on the balcony looking out towards the harbor was wonderful. My only comment would be since it was the end of the season and things were closing, some advise on what would be open for food options would have been helpful, but otherwise I would recommend highly.

Comfort on “the quiet side”

This unit was our base for six nights while exploring Acadia and Mt Desert Island. It was convenient in that we could walk to restaurants and get to Acadia, the trails and carriage roads. The bed was comfy, the shower nice and hot, the kitchen useful and we loved how bright and sunny it was. We enjoyed the sea air and harbor view feom the deck and through the windows. Owners made check in easy and were helpful with recommendations and answering questions. It would be our choice for lodging if we return!

Perfect in every way

What a gem! This place is much larger than the photos make it look. So much space, charm and the bathroom was one of the best showers ever. The view to the harbor was gorgeous and such nice sitting deck area for star gazing. We loved Southwest Harbor for its quiet vibe, while still had easy access to Acadia and the trails we were looking to hike. The hosts were very welcoming and respectful of our privacy. Garden was lovely. We would absolutely come back here in a heartbeat. You should book this.

Five Perfect Days on the Quiet Side

My wife and I just stayed five nights in the Harbor View unit. It is part of the Cranberry Hill Inn in Southwest Harbor. We loved staying in Southwest Harbor over Bar Harbor and were able to everything on Mount Desert Island from there. The real treat was the Harbor View unit itself. The entire top floor deck in the pictures is yours. There are sliding glass doors off of the living area and the bedroom that provided wonderful breezes. They have recently re-done the decking and there is nice patio furniture. The view is superb and the entire place was extremely relaxing. We had so much fun walking to Beal's Lobster Pier the first night we did it again on the last night.

A gem of a property in a terrific location

The apartment was terrific! Ample room throughout; the pictures don’t do it justice. Great deck to sit and enjoy a view of the harbor and the beautiful garden. Location was in easy walking distance to Beals lobster pound and downtown Southwest Harbor. Drive to Bar Harbor/Acadia was under 30 minutes. There are some great hikes nearby as well. Southwest Harbor is vastly different from Bar Harbor. A very quiet location. Establishments are not open late. Plan to have provisions on hand. The kitchen and toaster oven came in handy for late night eating! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others!

Idyllic restful Maine stay

This unit is perfectly situated in Southwest Harbor. It is part of an Inn so your unit is attached to a home that also houses other units with other customers staying. If this is not your thing, be aware of this. We found it to be a perfect getaway for just the two of us. Our unit had a mini kitchen, dinette, couch/living area, master bedroom and bathroom. It was very clean and everything we needed was provided. I even needed a bigger fry pan to cook breakfast and the Patti and her husband were gracious to provide us a mixing bowl, lobster crackers and a skillet pan. Only suggestion would be to provide a cleaning spray and rag, such as 409 or an green cleaning product to clean up when using the kitchen. I'm sure if asked Patti would have provided something to tidy up the kitchen but we made due with paper towels and dawn soap provided. The unit has screened windows and sides so you can be comfortable when breezy. It does have two window ac units but we did not need them. The grounds are beautiful and Patti has beautiful flora which also attracts the fauna I might add as we saw deer while staying. Patti's instructions for our arrival were detailed and clear. As are the instructions for the stay at the Inn. air is not a modern home but it is tidy and updated but kept within the period and style of the home, which was a perfect setting for Maine, It was reminiscent of Old Americana or a French Country Inn. Since it is a home and older, the walls can transmit noise so you have to be mindful of that and the grounds which Patti take great care to keep beautiful. So if you have kids be aware playing on the ground is not allowed. It is within walking distance to the entire town of Southwest Harbor which we explored walking in a day, from here we were were 25 min from Acadia and Bar Harbor and wishing driving distance to most of the Harbors and Villages near us. Southwest Harbor is a hidden gem with many restaurants but you also get quiet and not the busy touristy feel of Bar Harbor. We will definitely return. Must see sunset at Bass Harbor Light Head Must get fresh steamed lobsters at Otter Creek Market, Blueberry Pie and Ice cream from Quietside cafe - their lobster rolls are also the least expensive and delish. Sawyers Specialties for wine! We love dining at Abel's Lobster with a water view setting.

Beautiful Fall Stay in Southwest Harbor

My partner and I had an absolutely amazing stay at Patti's VRBO. The location was perfect - an easy drive to all parts of Acadia, yet in a quiet little neighborhood that was ideal to come home to after long days spent outdoors. We would happily stay here again!

Bright, cute, cozy & comfortable

Just right for the 2 of us. Nice to have a private deck area and harbor views. The king bed was a treat as well as the cookies upon or arrival.

One of our new favorites!

This was our favorite place we've stayed at in a long time. It's cozy and clean with a great location, walking distance to shops and restaurants in Southwest Harbor. It was also a little bigger than we originally thought, which was really nice - we wish we could have stayed here for a few more days. It had everything we needed, too. Definitely would stay here the next time we come to Acadia, and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away!

Comfortable getaway in a quaint fishing village

This was our first trip to Southwest Harbor but hopefully not the last. Patti stocked the apartment with everything we might need, and it was very clean. It’s in a great location for walking to restaurants and stores. And the chocolate chip cookies were delicious! Thanks, Patti!

Our favorite place to stay in Maine

This is our second time staying at Cranberry Hill, specifically in the Harbor View unit. We absolutely love it here, it's a fantastic size, and the views of the harbor from the deck are amazing. You get some beautiful sun rises and sets all around you. Such a clean property, friendly hosts, and just perfect. We hope to stay here again!

This apartment in Southwest Harbor was clean, comfortable and was in a lovely, quiet location.

My husband and I arrived in the rain but were pleasantly surprised to find a bright, spacious second floor spot in Southwest Harbor. Short walks took us to shops, coffee and breakfast locales. Kitchen Is small but fine for two and had all we needed. Patti left notes and local information for us and called to check and see how we were doing. The balcony deck was glorious in the morning when the sun came out.

Lovely Apartment in Southwest Harbor

The apartment was beautiful and extremely comfortable. It's in a great location where you can walk right into town. Our host gave us some great restaurant recommendations - Sips and Beals were great!

Asked in to the property! It was not only as advertised but better- we could have moved in permanently. The view of the harbor every morning was incredible and you could walk to restaurants, shopping and the harbor to catch the ferry. We will be back!!

quaint cottage

Everything you need for week near Bar Harbor. On the quiet side of the island minutes away from great hikes and restaurants. Friendly hosts that were available as needed. We would choose this rental again.
