Five Star experience

This unit is STUNNING! Exactly as it looks in pictures with amazing views. Very well appointed. Traveled with my teenage boys and they said 1029 was one of the best parts of Hawaii. We really enjoyed sitting in the Lanai at all times of the day. So beautiful, peaceful and just all around winderful

Everything was just as promised in the listing. You have your own reserved parking spot right by the elevators. Honua Kai is a beautiful property. The view from the lanai is spectacular!

Fabulous Penthouse

Excellent 3 BR top floor penthouse unit on Kaanapali Beach. Parking was a bit of a challenge with garage construction for now, but would absolutely stay again...

Best resort for pools, beaches, snorkeling and relaxation

This condo was just perfect for 6 adults. The views - incredible. Location was ideal to all the great snorkeling spots and wonderful restaurants. The beds were the most comfortable ever. It had everything you could need including beach supplies. The grill on the deck was a huge bonus. The property so clean accessible to everything. Right on the boardwalk. Ease of towels for beach and pool was perfect. Another bonus, reserved parking right by the elevator. We will truly stay here again!!!!!!!

Paradise +++!

Starting with the friendly valet staff and ease of checking in to the convenience of getting to the condo, paradise begins. The property is immaculate. The condo is spacious, very clean, contained everything we needed, comfortable and relaxing. But the view from each room was on a whole other level. The best in the complex. Our favorite thing to do each day was to sit on the balcony and whale watch (January to March) and then watch the beautiful sunset over Lanai. Truly amazing!

Spectacular view interior needs some help

Interior needs some addressing, such as cabinet doors not aligned well enough to close, dishwasher needs help, pots with no lids, furniture worn and stained as well as the carpet. Beds were comfortable, linens clean, washer and dryer have musty smell. This is our second time staying at this resort, first rental was in much better shape then the second one. We have family coming again in 3 months and staying at this resort, just not this rental though.

Beautiful Condo & Resort

Our stay in Hawaii was during the torrential storms in March, which unfortunately kept us captive in our condo for the majority of the stay. Weather is unavoidable, and while we made the best of the time that there was no rain, a trip to the beach is tough when beaches, pools, hot tubs and roads are all shut down. That said, we were able to use the pools whenever the rains were light and no lightning was present, we took beach walks whenever rain was light or absent, and spent a lot of time looking for whales on our patio. The unit was fantastic, gave spectacular ocean views and allowed us to make the best of our time. Unit 1029 came with a gas grill and allowed us full accommodations to cook in the unit which came in handy on nights that local roads were shut down. Overall, it wasn't the trip we planned for, but the unit and grounds made the experience as good as it could be. We hope to come back again another time when the sun is out, and we can experience all Maui has to offer!

Great unit with great view

Spacious unit with a great view and location. Unit was not deep cleaned as promised with the high cleaning fees. We found potato chips on the floor in the master bedroom, my daughter found underwire under her bed in one of the guest room. There was dust on the furniture and bird poop on out side cushion. Also the cushions were ripped on the outside chairs . I feel this unit needs a make over. The positive thing the resort is lovely.

Aloha , This is a great villa with space for your entire family! This unit was recently renovated with all new indoor furniture. A few days after your arrival you called regarding the dust and bird droppings on the patio furniture. We were happy to send someone over to assist but are unable to prevent nature and the dust on your patio. We look forward to having you stay with us again.

Beautiful condo, very commercial location

This condo was beautiful, comfortable and had everything you would need. However, this is not the type of location we as a family like to vacation in. The water in front of the resort had a lot of corals, which was not ideal with children. Therefore, we had to walk down to the beach in front on The Westin. On the other hand, it’s great for snorkeling. The beaches were always packed with people. All the pools at the condos are fairly shallow, which depending on what you’re looking for, might be a pro or a con. There are very few umbrellas by the pools, so if you don’t go reserve one early in the morning, you’re stuck without shade.

Inaccurate listing

Renting this property has been very easy. Communication with property management was easy and efficient. They were very attentive to all our needs. However, this property does not sleep 8 people. There are two king sized beds and one bed that’s bigger than a queen but smaller than a king (still comfortable). We came here with 7 adults expecting a pullout sofa bed, because the listing said it slept 8 people. There is nothing but a cot (not a rollaway bed) that only a child could sleep on. Even with the cot, this unit can sleep a maximum of 7 people. The washer and dryer are pretty much useless. So don’t plan on washing anything more than VERY light weight items (undergarments, workout attire). The machines cannot handle even one bath towel. Which brings me to the next point that there needs to be more bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths available. The resort is beautiful and in a great location. This unit is amazing. We will definitely be back.

Konea 1029 is absolutely gorgeous. The master bedroom and bathroom are stunning and huge. The lanai, the view, the sounds of the ocean, and having a BBQ on our lanai were huge pluses. We love Honua Kai and have stayed at a couple other units, but this one was a real stand out. Thank you for the wonderful memories!!

Working with KBM was simple, thorough and we would book with them again

What can I say. Working with KBM was simple, thorough and we would book with them again, for sure. Our vacation started on Sept 21st. Three couples, in their 60's stayed in unit 1029 which is on the top floor of the Konea building. We are all easy going but I'm sure even a discerning renter would not find any fault with the unit. The condo was absolutely gorgeous, very clean and with an amazing full view to the ocean and the island of Lanai. The grounds are beautiful and Duke's Restaurant, on property, was wonderful and not as highly priced as I expected from other reviewers. Go for Duke's Happy Hour. We had several appetizers and a couple of drinks and some days that was all we needed for dinner. The bacon mac and cheese is so good and I'm not terribly fond of mac and cheese. Can't wait to go back to Honua Kai. KBM Hawaii makes sure their units are cleaned well and stocked with everything you will need to have an enjoyable stay. That is not always the case when renting directly thru Honua Kai or from another manager. Even the bell hops, when we told them we were in a KBM Hawaii rental, had very positive comments and said we would be all set if we had rented thru them. Can't wait to back, hopefully the same unit.
