Thank you for your review, Mariana. We are happy to know you had an amazing stay at Casa de los Monos, and we are truly sorry you had a bad experience at the Security Gate the day you arrived. We always send the list with the authorizations to the guards a week prior to the arrival and the concierge did send the list to them. Unfortunately, they couldn't find the list right away despite being confirmed as received by them, and they let you and your group in due to the late time you got to the area. After this inconvenience, we implemented a new way to send the lists to Security to make sure this doesn't happen again. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to hosting you again. Dear future guests, My name is Collin, I'm the host of Casa de los Monos. I'd like to clarify Lisa's comments and our response. December is a very windy season in our area, and because the home is surrounded by greenery, some leaves in the pool are inevitable. The pool was cleaned prior to check-in and is serviced Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. When Lisa raised the concern about the leaves, we responded immediately and even added daily pool cleanings at our own expense to ensure her comfort. After that, no further concerns were raised. On Lisa's final night, she contacted me at 10:00pm reporting ants in the home. After reviewing the videos she sent, it was clear there were lines of ants near the entryway, in an outdoor shower, and some were inside the home. This is a natural occurrence in Costa Rica, in no way does not represent negligence on our part - we fumigate monthly and do thorough cleanings three times per week. Even so, we intervened immediately. As a temporary measure, while our late-night team was en route, I suggested placing a towel under the door to prevent any more ants from entering (wetting it to be more effective). Upon arrival, the team removed the ants and applied a standard, approved deterrent. When Lisa expressed concern about the deterrent, I reassured her it was used appropriately but suggested we air out the room briefly while the team ensured no further entry. I did not suggest anyone stay overnight in the room. Collin Mckillican
