Beliggende i Thorpe, en dejlig landsby i den sydlige ende af White Peak område af Peak National Park, Thorpe Cloud View sommerhus er en charmerende ferie placering inden for de fire hektar store grund af, men indstillet bortset fra, Thorpe House, et sent georgisk kalksten klasse to fredet bygning af betydelig karakter. Sommerhuset, tildelte den øverste rating på fem stjerner, har uforstyrret udsigt over Thorpe Cloud, ved indgangen til Dovedale, kalksten slugten, som adskiller Derbyshire og Staffordshire. De omkringliggende områder giver fremragende walking. Everything was plain sailing (a little hiccup) just yards away from the property (this teensy matter could be averted by a little arrow on the existing property signs) We had a nice welcome chat with the owner, Ray who was welcoming and convivial but he does observe the holiday makers total privacy (no big brother style here) but is on hand should you need to make any enquiry. Pristine perfect and great cozy comfort. A idyllic spot for walkers, cyclists, scranners, swimmers, writers, artists or a could combination of a few! I have to say we found (talking of scranners) that we found some good eateries. The pool was a great boon and we enjoyed our leisurely swims (no hour or two restrictions -brilliant) A new part of the world for us and a great place for a few days break off season or longer during other seasons.

We were welcomed on arrival and given a brief but thorough run through of the facilities as well as being shown the information folder (which came in very handy). The cottage itself was fantastic. Warm and cosy, with amazing views. The pool area is incredible and makes the cost of the booking feel very reasonable. Local pub is great and only a 15 minute walk. Will definitely be returning.

Ray was an extremely friendly and helpful host. The pool and hot tub were perfect both having water at the right temperature for us.We were blessed with plenty of sunshine on days 2 & 3 of our 3 day break towards the end of November and enjoyed great walks.The cottage is very well equipped and had everything we needed, very much a 5 star stay.

The whole experience was excellent. The host, the property, the location, facilities. It is rare for me to say "I'll be back" but on this occasion I will definitely be going back.Relax and enjoy your holiday exactly what you want. Great walks and a pub close by it doesn't get any better.

The cottage was lovely!! There was nothing that the hosts had not thought of…and they were all really great quality products. Nothing was run down or wearing out or worn! I did ask the hosts a couple of questions whilst there and they were very helpful…responding to each message sent! Would love to stay here in the future!!

The property was beautiful, with everything we needed. And the pool was amazing! We all enjoyed swimming and chilling in the hot tub. We were able to walk straight up Thorpe cloud and into Dove dale, and look forward to being able to visit again to explore further. Many thanks to hosts, Ray and Julie, who were friendly and helpful.

Superb property

great pool and local to most places within max 30mins drive. the pool must be at least 15m long and 6m wide.Bottle of prosecco and tea and coffee and milk and sugar if you didn't bring any.The Cottage and pool very clean and tidy would stay again and recommend to any couples for a quiet getaway and to go around the Peak District.nearest shop 10 mins drive. great Pubs local for meals if you didn't want to cook.Great hosts and it was all ready to move in. with a tour of the property and pool from them.Car Parking plenty space as i got my Bentley in with ease

Cosy cottage and Country Charm

Beautiful elegant cottage, wonderful ambiance and surrounded by incredible scenery. Equipped with everything you could think of and more. Owners super helpful and friendly.Pool a bonus, brilliant to chill after visiting the local beauty spots some of which are practically on the doorstep.The only downside - we only had 3 nights. Hope to visit again at sometime.

A haven in the countryside

We planned a three night stay buy had to cut it short for family reasons.We were delighted with our choice. An old cottage on the outside with modern facilities inside.The welcome pack was much appreciated. The facilities were as described. The pool was great. We booked it really, as a back up for bad weather. The only problem was that the weather was so good we only used it once and it was more like a sauna around the edge but refreshing in the water,We planned to use the pub but never got around to it. Make sure you have your groceries on board if self-catering, though Ashbourne is quite close. ‘We’walked( my wife uses a mobility scooter) to1 Ashbourne and back via the Tissington Trail. It was fine. Very happy with our choice. We have used VRBO for years and have been very happy with the arrangements. Enjoy!

Perfect!!!

I could not recommend this place enough. It’s immaculately clean, has everything you could ever need, is perfectly situated and the views are immense. To add to that, the pool is second to none. Ray and Julie were perfect hosts, giving clear explanations of all the important info. It really is a diamond of a place and I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful break.

Another lovely stay at this property. Was exactly as our first visit last year. It's a great property, clean and well equipped. Any questions were answered by Ray & Julie. Love the pool, which is great to use after a day of exploring the local area. We had a fab time here.

Stress free happy days

After a long few months this stay was refreshing in many ways .from the beautiful cottage to the lovely pool,to the stunning gardens,to the really lovely hosts..im disabled and have walking dificultys which i thought may stop me accessing the pool..it didnt due to the thoughtfullness of the hosts having a easy usable hand rail ....and we made the most of the luxury of a private pool thats for sure...(alllllll for us )What made me smile and impressed us both was on the day of leaving Ray asked me if there was anything else he could do to help future guests with access to the pool... we are already planning another stay ...We highly recomend ..

We are told by the guests that this is the best cottage they have stayed in with the amazing indoor swimming pool (not shared) and the fabulous stone cottage together with the large garden and incredible views over to the hills including Thorpe Cloud View (this featured in the last Robin Hood movie with white horse image on the hill). The cottage is ideal in all weather, cool in the summer and warm in the winter with the log burner and the eco-friendly central heating.

Outside:
A private estate with fantastic gardens in all 4 acres.
The Holiday Cottage enjoys uninterrupted view of the hills of Thorpe Cloud at Dovedale. Often you will be able to watch sheep and lambs, cows, bulls and calves, many types of birds including woodpeckers all from the secluded outside seating area of the holiday cottage.

Indoor Swimming Pool & Luxury Jacuzzi. This opulent swimming pool is heated to 31 degrees. It is about 1.4meters deep and 14 metres (40 ft) long. Ideal for the serious swimmer, for the beginner or for the children. The Jacuzzi has its own heating control and has jets from the sides and the bottom of the seat.

Eco friendly remote central heating system (biomass wood pellets)
Washing machine and dryer.

Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service:
The cottage is cleaned after each guest visit. Towels and bed-linen are provided (this includes a towel for each guest in the cottage and also a second towel for each guest in the poolroom). Our gardener tends to the grounds and may start early (7.00am). Also our handy man is often around keeping everything looking great. This will include moving and loading wood pellets to a centralized green energy heating system.

Galleried landing over the lounge/sitting room gives an open spacious feeling.
