Gorgeous barn stay for my husband, teenagers and I. The ballsfield barn is a beautiful location with stunning views as far as the eye can see. Excellent location for us to explore whilst the teenagers went to Alton towers.

We had a fantastic stay at this holiday cottage. The location was great — peaceful yet close to everything we needed. The property was spotless, really comfortable, and had everything we could ask for. Communication with the hosts was excellent, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We’d happily recommend it to others.

Calming countryside retreat

A peaceful spot in the countryside, clean and comfortable with warm helpful hosts.Great area to visit pretty Bakewell and the magnificent Chatsworth House and gardens.

Beautiful accommodation in a idilic setting. Very well equipped for our self catering holiday with kids and a dog. Quiet enough to enjoy peaceful countryside, yet close enough to town of Leek and Alton Towers to have days out. Would definitely visit again.

Alton towers short trip

Overall was an excellent stay the kids didnt want to leave and was perfext in terms of price and location to what we had planned a proper home away from home.

Beautiful Barn Conversion

We had a great long weekend staying at ballfields barn, a true home from home in the peak district. Extremely comfortable, well appointed and immaculately clean. A great location for getting out and about, we will definitely be looking forward to staying again.

Beautiful property

Lovely clean well presented property. Owners very friendly and helpful. Especially enjoyed the log burner in the evenings. Our dog particularly enjoyed the near by walks.

Amazing stay

Such lovely accommodation set in the most amazing surroundings. Views out of all windows, not overlooked, lots of outside space. There are walks on the doorstep - will definitely return.

Perfect country setting

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this converted barn. Truly had everything we needed and more. An ideal break from the big city of London.

Family Xmas get together!

The host was extremely warm and welcoming and the property was just gorgeous…a really lovely home from home ! Everything was of high quality…beds comfy… and everything you could need was there…and the views were to die for…didn’t want to leave!

Beautiful Cottage

A truly luxurious cottage in a breath-taking location. Super clean with top quality fixtures and fittings. The owners, Brian and Isabel are lovely, friendly and helpful hosts. Hope to return to Ballfields Barn again soon.

Wonderful property!

This property is maintained to a great spec... Everything you need is there. Very comfortable and cosy, Ourselves and the dogs had a lovely stay. Would definitely re-book if visiting the area again. It rained most days we were there, so the log burner at night was wonderful. I can only imagine how nice it would be to sit on the patio when it is sunny, as the views are stunning.

Amazing break for 2

The barn was perfect,the setting was quiet and the view stunning. Our hosts Isabel & Brian gave us a very warm welcome. We could not have wished for a more perfect short break away from the hussle & bussle of life. Very much recommended.

Great Barn Conversion

A great barn conversion in a great location with fantastic host. Isobel and Brian were extremely accomodating allowing us to check in at 10pm as we was at Alton Towers prior to arriving at the barn. Thank you and hopefully we will be back again soon. Andy & Jodie

Ballfield barn.

A stunning property in the beautiful historic town of Leek. The property was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need and more! The dogs could run around safely in a private field attached to the property and as for the owners they were fantastic and nothing was to much trouble. It was so nice we decided to stay a extra night and will definitely be back at some point in the warmer months.

Our stay was so lovely, the place was tranquil and the views were stunning. The property was lovely and had everything you need. Great place to spend a few days for a family big birthday. You need car to travel out to visit places.Watching the sunset in the evening was beautiful.Just a little thought that would benefit in the cooler months would be a pod where the bench is as you could enjoy more of the late evenings looking over the views and enjoy drinks etc. But overall loved our stay here and the hosts were so lovely and welcoming.Thank you for letting us enjoy the property and the views.

Beautiful barn in a great location with stunning views.

The barn was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and comfortable for our family stay (incl 2 children & dog) for 5 nights. The views of the surrounding countryside were stunning and having lots of enclosed private space was perfect for our dog and children! The owners were very welcoming, informative and knowledgeable on the local area providing helpful recommendations for places to visit and eat out. The nature reserve directly across the lane was a great place for a walk and with so much to visit a short car ride away it was an ideal spot. Would highly recommend and we hope to return again.

Fabulous Country Break

A beautiful cottage in a great location if you just want to get away from it all in the middle of the countryside. Lots of beautiful scenic walks on the doorstep. Cottage is equipped with everything you need and more. A great mix of modern and traditional decor including a fantastic log burner for the winter and a flagged terrace for the summer. Isabel the host was fantastic. Looking forward to our next stay.

Great place in the Peak District

We spent a very pleasant week here; even the hottest day in English history was only a minor glitch. Highly recommended, for excellent facilities and a great location. It's a wonderful place to just sit on the patio and watch the hills in the distance, and to enjoy the birds at the bird feeders. If you have time, try a trip to the Cheddleton flint mill, a fascinating part of the local history of the Industrial Revolution. We hope that we'll be able to return for another visit.

We've just had three nights here, but we so wish we could have stayed longer! The barn itself is a super property, tasteful and homely, spotlessly clean, a high end spec throughout and it has everything you might need. Our hosts were so welcoming, helpful and friendly, but never intrusive. Most of all though, it's about the location. Wow. Incredible views and blissfully peaceful. I fell in love with it, and our elderly Labrador was in heaven having access to fields and an acre of woodland (very welcome in the heatwave!) to wander about in. Me being a wildlife enthusiast, I was in my element, particularly as there's a wonderful nature reserve literally opposite the property! My husband is an astrophotographer and this spot was perfect for some dark sky shots of the Milky Way. Just perfect, can't say more than that! We will definitely return when we can.
