Fantastic location!

We very much enjoyed our 3-week stay at this apartment in Foz do Arelho! The location was fantastic, with gorgeous views of the sunset. Several restaurants are within walking distance, with grocery stores a short drive into town. The kitchen had what we needed to be able to do some cooking for ourselves from time to time. Amply sized refrigerator/freezer, a full stove top and oven, and a clothes washer were in the apartment. There was plenty of room to store our clothing as well. Kate was a very responsive host. Alison worked with us for a next-day arrival (delay getting into Portugal). The drive from the airport was not bad at all (first-time visitors). We would definitely recommend this apartment for your stay in Foz do Arelho!

Appartement met schitterend uitzicht over het strand. Het balkon is behoorlijk groot, dus daar hebben we vrijwel de gehele tijd gezeten. En van de ondergaande zon genoten. Je kunt -als de strandgangers weg zijn- voor de deur parkeren. En zelf naar het strand is ook goed te lopen (hoewel wel steil).Het appartement heeft twee slaapkamers, waarbij 1 tweepersoons en de andere 3 losse bedden (wel meer voor kinderen, want je slaapt boven elkaar.Er is geen airconditioning, maar dat is niet nodig omdat er altijd een koele zeebries staat.Fijne bank in de woonkamer om TV te kijken. En een eettafel, die we maar weinig gebruikt hebben.Enig minpunt was het ontbreken van een parasolvoet, die we op het balkon wel hadden willen gebruiken om de parasols (die er wel waren) op te zetten tegen de middagzon.Al met al een heerlijk verblijf!

La vue, la vue était époustouflante avec un balcon assez long mais pas très large pour en profiter. Le stationnement est devant l’appartement et c’est très apprécié.L’appartement est grand et très éclairé.Par contre, un petit rafraîchissement de l’appartement serait la bienvenue mais cela ne nous a pas empêché d’y passer du bon temps. La plage est accessible à pied mais avec un bon dénivelé et des marches sinon il y a beaucoup de stationnements à la plage et restaurants.

Resting after walking the Camino Portuguese

The view of the Atlantic Ocean and the lagoon is exactly as pictured. The first days the views were excellent; day 2 was foggy which gave another perspective. We chose this rental based on location and views. The apartment was adequate and as described. The kitchen was adequately equipped although basic supplies were lacking. For example, there was a washing machine that we used but needed to buy washer soap. We were not able to get the oven working. There was a coffee pot but no coffee to get us started. Other rentals that we have stayed at in the past (England, Scotland, France, US) have had small amounts of supplies to get the travelers started. There are cafes and restaurants close by to access within easy walking distance. Easy check out and good communication prior to arrival.

Excelente apartamento, bem situado, perto da praia, excelentes condições de habitabilidade, tudo muito airoso e limpinho! Excellent position overlooking the beach

We very much enjoyed our stay in the apartment. Perfectly situated with great views from the balcony, it had everything we needed and was close to lovely restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect in every aspect

The apartment was perfect, it’s view and position, in relation to the beach was perfect. Just the right amount of walking distance to the beach and the bars. Foz itself was beautiful. The restaurants where excellent and the sunsets where breathtaking. The only downside was from the apartment below, they had two dogs, which were left out in the heat all day. Always barking at any passers by. As dog lovers this was distressing to witness. However, this would not stop us from returning, Foz is without doubt the most magical place we’ve stayed in

Great location close to the beach

The apartment is in a small block on the hillside at the end of Foz. The beach is just a few minutes away down the hill. There is parking immediately outside the apartments. The apartment has a spectacular view across the bay from the balcony which is accessible from both the lounge and bedroom. The apartment was clean and tidy, although the towels and bath mats could do with replacing. There is a great shower, which does leak a little but it was easy to mop up afterwards. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The apartment is homely if a little cluttered. We found this to be a good base to visit local attractions and spent a day on the excellent beach in Foz, although we were driven inland on several days to find the sun, due to the fog and low cloud which sometimes persisted all day! Alison, who looks after the apartment was very helpful and easy to communicate with.

Kommunikation was very good, the accomodation is nice, it is all there, what you need , even an umbrella for the beach and a wall against the windorry for my english.We enyoid the stay and want to come back.

Excellent apartment. We spent there few days in July-August 2016. The apartment is very comfortable, with full equipment. Bed room for children includes very funny bed with 3 floors- it is big fun for children! The apartment has big balcony with amazing view on the bay with lagoones! We love this view!!! The apartment is located in very quite area, close to the beach 5 min, and close to the point view, which was excellent to observe stars after sunset😊 . I hope we will come back here someday... 5 minute walk to wonderful beach!

A comfortable clean apartment overlooking a glorious beach. Hand over was speedy and told us all we needed to now. Local amenities we good and you didn't have to venture further out although the surrounding area and beaches are also magnificent. We had a relaxing week thankyou.

Great location, beautiful view of Foz beach.

Alison greeted us upon arrival and gave great advice on the towns and beaches within an hour's drive. The beaches we particularly liked were Baleal, Sao Martinho do Porto and Nazare, The historic towns of Obidos, Tamar and Alcobaca are also well worth visiting. Lovely 2 bedroom apartment overlooking Foz do Arelho beach, a great central location for visiting the many attractions of the Silver Coast. The 2 bedroom apartment was very well maintained and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. A balcony with a fantastic view of Foz beach can be accessed via the main bedroom and living room.

The apartment is lovely: clean, compact, well furnished and with a beautiful view. It is very convenient for the beach end of Foz although some way from the shops and other facilities in the village. However there are plenty of restaurants within a stone's throw. The only recommendation I would make is some TV instructions in the apartment. I could not get it working, and am not particulalry technologicaaly backward. I am sure Alison, who was very helpful on meeting me, would have put me right with a phone call. I did not make one because I only really watch Bom Dia and not doing so made me read more.

Epic views, home from home!

For anyone who enjoys stunning coastline views, peaceful surroundings and amazing food, do not hesitate to book a stay in Foz. We arrived with ease, hiring a car from Lisbon airport...The roads and driving (if you have great direction's. ..as we did) are super easy. Arriving in Foz you will be welcomed with outstanding views of the coastline. We are a (reasonably) young couple with a 2 year old toddler in tow. Our main aim was to find somewhere we could relax, my partner could surf and our toddler to play. Foz is a quiet little town with a great beach and restaurants...Our favourite being 'cais da praia' the service is great, fresh fish dishes and perfect for our little one to play in the sand whilst we sat back and enjoyed the sunset with a bottle of wine! If we are completely honest we didn't spend a lot of time in Foz...just because we like to explore and the surf was particularly wild at our time of visit. This wasn't a problem, we spent a lot of time about half an hour away in a place called 'Baleal' which is extremely close to Peniche (Surfing central). The beach there is perfect. ..close to amenities, great surf and brill beach for little ones with little rock pools for them to explore. During our time we explored Nazare (where we had an amazing fresh fish lunch) took a ride on the hill tram to the top of the town where the views across Nazare are truly breathtaking, casa da rainha and also took a little trip to the romantic town of Obidos (also had an amazing lunch in a little Italian restaurant...sorry can't remember the names) our little one particularly enjoyed the walk around the castle walls. Regarding the apartment it was a home from home with everything you needed, clean, great shower and also felt safe to be in. I would also like to add the lady who greated us on arrival was so helpful and nothing was to much trouble. You really do get value for your money at this apartment. Thank you again for the most relaxing holiday we have had in the past 2 years!!

Charming!

If you are looking at this, then most likely you are planning a visit to Foz do Arelho, Portugal, the most charming seaside villages on the Atlantic Coast. We fell in love with Foz and are in the beginning stages of building a home there, thus we go often. Finding this charming town home was such a treat the minute I stepped into the entrance foyer. With it's blue and white glazed ceramic tiles, white walls and dark mahogany wood trim, the traditional architecture is inviting. The condo proved to be just as wonderful when I stepped on inside of it. A nice entry, a cozy Living Room with fantastic direct ocean and beach views, a fully equipped kitchen, a bath with amazing an shower and two nice sized bedrooms, all tastefully appointed. The Master Bedroom also has a direct ocean view, opening onto a balcony which connects to the one off of the Living Room. There on that balcony, I enjoyed every evening sipping wine, watching amazing sunsets. This unit is perfectly clean, has ample linens, spacious closets and the kitchen has all one needs to prepare any meal from large to just a snack. The location is perfect. Just a short stroll around the corner to a fantastic coffee shop, then on to the beach which is over the top, and then a short walk back up the hill from a huge selection of dinner spots, right on the sand. Not only do I highly recommend this charmer, I will also be rebooking it when I am in Foz as we progress on our own home just a few blocks away.

Beautifull place

Foz do Arelho is really a beautifull place with a nice beach, wild ocean with high waves. You need some courrage to fight with the waves, but it's fun. The price level in the beach bars are really o.k. And the appartment we had was also a beautifull place with a broad view over the bay. We enjoyed to have breakfast on the balcony and a glas of wine during sunset. The 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom spend enough place. All the potuguese people we met in the Restaurants, Supermarkets or on the streets were very friendly. The service for the appartment was good as well.

Teriffic apartment

The apartment was ideal for our holiday. easy(ish) walk down to the beach. Although it gets a bit steep it didn't cause a problem (my wife has difficulty walking & she was OK). It is on the ground floor with direct access to the road, but there are 3 steps to get up. As others have said, the view from the balcony is breathtaking - a great place to watch the sun go down with a drink in hand. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need. Our adult sons were fine in the beds for the second bedroom (important cos one is 1.95m tall). The resort is quite quiet, & to make the most of it you need a car to get to restaurants in other towns, although you can get by in Foz if you're OK with snack foods. Decent size supermarkets are only about 10 mins drive away (leclerc & Aldi) & there are planty of fast food take away options in the shopping centre in nearby Calda. The only downside we found was that if we went out in the car after 11am, it was impossible to park back outside the apartment until after 5pm because of beach traffic, although it was always possible to park a short walk away, uphill on the road, but to be fair, this was during the first two weeks of August, so you would expect the beach to be busy.

Inside the apartment is maintained with traditional Portuguese decor which has been described as a 'home from home'. It is cosy, well maintained and modernised throughout to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
