Perfect to share

Excellent location, view second to none, clean and uncluttered. Easy share for two couples. Be prepared to carry suitcases up quite a few stairs! The price you pay for a view.

We loved the location and the view was wonderful, worth the 92 step climb up to the apartment. Julie was flexible and let us check in a couple of hours early. However, we never did meet her in person despite a request to do so as we had some questions. This was my only VRBO rental that the owner's representative did not meet me in person to show me around the unit and answer any questions. Main issue was parking, on the day that we arrived the communal parking was full and there was very limited parking down by the lake front. I ended up having to drive around for some time trying to find a parking spot. Please note that the communal parking is very tight and not all slots are accessible with a full size vehicle. The apartment description states that there is a private parking place in a garage a 5 min walk away. When I enquired about using it, it transpires that this is not actually owned by the apartment and hence is only available if its owner is not using it. Julie promised to check its availability, but never did get back to me. Fortunately, we were able to find parking during the rest of our stay, but this could be more of a problem in peak season and during market day when the communal parking has to be vacated.

Sehr schöne Wohnung mit traumhaftem Blick

Diese modern und komfortabel eingerichtete Wohnung ließ keine Wünsche offen: gut geschnitten, hochwertig ausgestattet und vor allem mit wunderbarem, großen Balkon, von dem man einen spektakulären Blick auf den Comer See und die gegenüber liegenden Berge hat. Laglio ist sehr klein und verschlafen (nur wenige Restaurants), dafür aber hübsch mit vielen alten Villen. Como, Mailand und Bergamo, aber auch viele kleinere Orte am See sind mit dem Auto unkompliziert zu erreichen. Die Vermieterin war sehr freundlich und serviceorientiert - danke!

Perfect apartment, completely stunning views.

We stayed in the Contemporary apartment of the Laglio Garden Apartments, specifically chosen as it came with two double bedrooms as we were two couples. Fantastic facilities in the apartment, separate bathrooms for each couple and very comfortable beds. All facilities and equipment available. The wrap around balcony allowed for some fantastic views of the lake; this apartment sits perfectly on the lake for a full, uniterupted view, it was truly breath taking to see. Pool was a brilliant addition and we spent a few days relaxing with little interruption from others stopping in the block. The steps up and down to the roads are not for the faint hearted, it certainly keeps you fit during your stay. Julie was fantastic during our stay, ready to greet us when we arrived and checked by a few times to check we were ok. There was lots of recommendations and advice of things to try on the lake in the apartment. Laglio is a quiet part of Lake Como, which made it nice to be away from the busy parts, but it did mean we had to travel around, which was fine as we wanted to see as much of the lake as possible. We did not hire a car and this did not cause an issue as there are two bus services running through Laglio, they are not regular but ensuring you are organised and ready for the bus meant it was easy to plan a trip out. I would recommend using Google Maps of ‘Moovit’ apps to plan your journey around bus times. Overall, we had a fantastic stay in Laglio and on Lake Como, Barrie and Julie made organising our stay very easy and I would definitely recommend booking with them, in fact, directly with them through their ‘Italian Apartments’. Thanks again Barrie and Julie!

Perfect place at Lake Como !

We had a great time and a pleasant stay at the apartment in Laglio. The view is even better than it looks on the pictures. Great beds to sleep in, perfect place. We really loved it and had a very good time. Thanks so much to Julie and Barrie for their great service and hospitality.

Lovely location

Nice location with good views. Apartment clean with everything you’d need. Stairs do keep you fit during your stay and help work off all the Gelato. Barrie and Julie were very good communicators and were quick to sort out a WIFI issue. Booked directly with them and avoided the Home Away booking fee.

Missing that view already!

We stayed at this laglio residence last month as part of an extended family get together. We booked 2 of the 5 homes which definitely matched up to their billing. A view we never tired of gazing at, the quiet and tranquil scenery of village life in Laglio and the home itself which was just as described and kitted out to a exacting standards. The village is very, very quiet and perfect for recharging our batteries. Laglio has a couple of authentic Italian eateries, a couple of bars and convenience stores so not for every one however the ferry stop is only a 10 minute drive. The Crotto was a real highlight and a favourite for lakeside dining, thanks to Julie for the tip. Julie, the host, was a fountain of knowledge and it was great to get a locals insight into lake and where to visit and to avoid. Thanks for a great stay. The greatest compliment I can make is that if you intend to visit Lake Como in luxury stay here in this Laglio residence.

Fantastic property and great hosts

Thank you Barrie and Julie for welcoming us back on the Lake to this great modern appartment in Laglio, and for looking after us all so well. It is tastefully decorated and furnished and has everything for a comfortable stay. The view of the lake is fabulous from the wrap around balcony, (the view from the kayaks on the lake looking back up is pretty good too) and a dip in the pool was always welcome during our sunny week here. Laglio is well positioned for getting round the lake and a little quieter than some of the other towns, which we like. It is only a short stroll to the few bars and restaurants situated along the lakeside, where we could sit with a glass of prosecco & endless antipasti! This is on our list for a return visit.

Lovely apartment, well located for touring.

This apartment is ideal for two couples. Well equipped with all contemporary fittings, appliances, etc. Situated on a hillside with wonderful views of the lake. Great location for touring nearby towns and villages by automobile. Climb up to the apartment can be somewhat challenging but the view is worth the effort. Julie was delightful and available to answer questions and provide recommendations as needed. Worth every penny!

Lake Como heaven!

Really enjoyed our stay here in Laglio. From the booking to arrival the whole process was seamless. Julie looked after us extemely well and was always available throughout our stay helping out with ferry timings, restaurant bookings (the crotto was superb, thank you!) and where to find the best local wine bars. The home has been tastefully furnished to a high standard and offers excellent value for money. Needless to say the view is to die for. Was a joy to wake up here each morning and return at night to watch the sun go down and watch the chaning lights over the lake.We will defintely return. Thank you Julie.

Lovely laglio!

Thoroughly enjoyed our time here in Laglio. The view really is to die for and the home is kitted out to a high standard just like the photos, all immaculately presented on arrival and spotlessly clean. The booking process was straighforward and on arrival we were met by the delightful Julie who could not have been more helpfull throughout our stay. Comfy sofa's and beds. Excellent wifi and satellite tv. The stairs that access the home did not bother us even though one of our Group is 80 years old! Unforunately we did not meet George Clooney but we will definitely be back next year. We rarely if ever return to the same place twice but have made an exception and booked once more for the coming year.

Nice apartment - beware of unexpected charges!

Apartment is nice enough, and the agent, Julie, was extremely helpful, as others say (and none of the criticism that follows is directed at her). Our main beef is about the rental payments, which we had to make directly to the owner via his stipulated Singaporean bank account! We followed the instructions to the letter, and were scrupulous to make sure that we paid upfront any charges levied by our bank in the UK. But the owner then told us that the Singaporean bank had deducted almost 40 pounds sterling in charges at his end, and demanded that we make this up! By that stage, we'd already paid three-quarters of the rental fee and were in a weak position to argue. Although we were reluctant to comply what we felt was an unreasonable demand, we felt we had no option but to pay. On top of this, we had to pay a 'final cleaning fee' despite there being a heavy-handed list of requirements - including emptying the dishwasher and putting away all clean crockery and glassware - that, if not complied with, could lead to further money being withheld from the security bond! It all left bit of a sour taste, frankly - not what you're really looking for as part of your holiday. If you don't mind being treated in this kind of contemptuous way, go ahead and book. But I'd advise looking around. There are plenty of nice apartments around here - including in the same complex - that are not run in such a mean-spirited fashion.

I believe the main issue here was that unfortunately the guests payment received for the deposit was £40 short. Normally all payments arrive in full (please see the other reviews below where clients are fully satisified) We offered to refund the payment and cancel the reservation if the guest was at all unhappy which they declined. The cleaning charge is clearly advertised on the publicity and contract. We can also offer pay pal payment method if requested.This covers the home being fully cleaned on arrival with freshly laundered linen and bedding. This does not cover removing waste or washing dishes. We manage all the homes in this residence (5 in total) and the cleaning and a separate cleaning charge applies to each of the homes. We separate the cleaning charge from the rental to show the cost in a transparent manner as other rental homes advertised on this site. kind regards Barrie

Perfect in every way

We had the most lovely week, weather perfect, villa perfect - exactly as described on the booking - everything was just so. Don't delay, just book it, you wont be disappointed. We had a bit of nightmare after leaving Milan and Julie and Barrie could not have been more helpful or more kind. Its the little things that make the difference and we thank you both for a lovely stay and for your kindness.

Superior quality. Do not hesitate to book

An excellent apartment with stunning views and a warm welcome. The two double bedrooms, one en suite and the other with a bathroom a few steps away, work well for two couples. The open plan lounge/dining/kitchen is spacious and comfortable for 4 adults. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and even includes a Nespresso and Aerocchino coffee machine. Satellite TV was available and the films available on demand were a treat. We breakfasted on the balcony every day taking in the wonderful views and watching the world go by. Parking was no problem but the availability of garage parking 2 mins walk away will be an advantage at busier times. Although a little early in the year for the pool it would be very inviting in the summer heat. We were well positioned to visit Como city, Villas Balbianello and Carlotta, Mennagio and could not resist returning to Bellagio and Varenna. Eating out is very reasonable and the fresh food available in supermarkets is top quality. Julie was very welcoming and has an extensive knowledge of the area to tap into. We really could not fault this apartment and its location and would encourage anyone to take the plunge and book. We will be back.

Fantastic Apartment

My wife, two daughters and I have just returned from a week staying at the apartment in Laglio. The apartment itself is of a very high standard and the view of the lake is superb. Julie who met us at the apartment and explained how everything worked was fantastic and went out of her way to help us. We really appreciated her help and suggestions that went a long way to making our holiday special. We had an amazing week at the lake and can't wait to return.

Excellent Apartment in Laglio

This two bed apartment was perfectly situated to take advantage of the stunning 180 degree views of Lake Como. The shared pool was a great bonus for the children to safely play. The apartment was modern and clean. The wifi was better than the service we get at home. You definitely need a car to get out and about and the cobbled walk upto or down from the roads is a bit of exercise, but the views where worth it. It was a shame we had to go home. We highly recommend this apartment.

"Laglio Contemporary Home" boasts majestic lake views inside and out from the wall to floor patios doors and spacious living inside and out. Qualiy fixtures and fittings inside and out. The home benefits from air conditioning and secure parking.
Laglio is a gem of a village. There is a real local feel to the village. Meandering cobbled paths, a local bar just a few minutes walk from the home serving excellent wine, snacks with superb local produce as we'll as delicious ice-cream. There are also two authentic restaurants located within walking distance from the home as well as a mini market for convenience of shopping.
The home and village boast majestic views, lazy walks along the lakeside and a relaxing atmosphere reminiscent of bygone days. Just 10 minutes by car will take you to busier villages, the ferry to access the whole lake and boutique shopping.
