Elegant lejlighed ved Comosøen med stor terrasse. Carate Urio (COMO)

Ejendommen, en historisk lejlighed, der netop blev renoveret og færdiggjort i januar 2010 beliggende i byen Carate Urio, 20 meter fra stranden, hvor du kan nå den efter en kort og bred trappe, lidt op ad bakke, i den typiske sø af stilen, er blevet møbleret og færdig i alt og tilbyder rummelige og alsidige værelser hver med udsigt over søen og en stor terrasse på 90 kvadratmeter med udsigt over Comosøen. Lejligheden, fuldstændig renoveret, har tre store soveværelser med badeværelse og frontal søudsigt, fint møbleret med pragtfulde antikke møbler. I hvert værelse er der: kabel- og satellit-tv, minibar.
Et stort rum, der bruges som vaskeri-strygningslokale, ligger i stueetagen: det er udstyret med en stor vask, en splinterny otte kg vaskemaskine, tøjline, strygejern og strygebræt med mere. Se fotografierne.
Kort beskrivelse af huset: En indgang i stueetagen fører gæsterne til en trappe, der fører til første sal, hvor der er et stort opholdsrum, der er omkranset af pragtfulde stenmure og rummelige hvælvede lofter med spiseplads periode og en behagelig lounge. Der er også mange moderne applikationer, såsom et stort vægmonteret fladskærms-kabel og satellit-tv med DVD-afspiller og komfortable lædersofaer til afslapning.
Stentrin fører fra dette spektakulære område til en yderligere spisestue, der er kendetegnet ved en elegant pejs, der er udskåret i Carrara-marmor, velproportioneret og meget lys, hvilket fører til en fabelagtig, rummelig og solrig terrasse med udsigt over søen, udstyret med paraplyer og borde, og som tilbyder gæsterne et idyllisk sted, hvor du kan slappe af og nyde!

Kontinuerlig beskrivelse af huset: Soveområdet i lejligheden er yderst alsidig og har plads til op til 8 personer. Der er tre store soveværelser med udsigt over søen, hver med sit eget badeværelse.
Lejligheden har også en undersøgelse med en smuk antik skrivebord til gæster, der har brug for noget arbejde selv på ferie. Der er også en behagelig sofa til afslapning.
Køkkenet, der for nylig er godt udstyret med tallerkener, glas og bestik, tilbyder gæsterne alle de nødvendige apparater til en ferie med selvforplejning: blandt dem opvaskemaskine, kaffemaskine, brødrister, mikroovn, kedel, ovn, kogepladen og en stor bordplade, der gør den ideel til forberedelse af enkel morgenmad og vigtige gallamiddager, der kan serveres både hjemme, i de to spisestuer og udendørs på den pragtfulde terrasse.
** I perioden 15. oktober til 30. april hvert år inkluderer den ugentlige lejepris (€ 2100) også de ugentlige opvarmningsomkostninger. Der kræves et depositum på € 500. Fra 24. 12 til 07.01 hvert år bliver det 1000 €.

Amazing holiday home

Surely this must be one of the best locations to stay at Lake Como. The owners are very professional and the house is very clean. The property is stunning, the location is extemely convenient as its very close to the lake and you also get to have the amazing terrace with an incredible view (you only have to climb up a some steps). No need to worry if you drive a car as the parking place is nearby. Carate Urio is very nice and quiet, so if you are looking for something similar, this is the place. I cannot recommend the property enough. Many thanks to the owners for operating everything in such a professional and organized way. I hope I will return to Il Volo very soon.

Review of This Property

Starting with the village of Carate Urio. It is small but very nice. The local businesses are most welcoming; especially Giuseppe Fiorino at the Fiorino Hotel. Meeting him is a must. As to the property itself--the best part is a large patio with a spectacular view of Lake Como. However, the problems with the property greatly outweigh the view. Starting with access, the information provided simply does not fairly advise that there is a ninety-step, significant grade to just get to the apartment. It ruined the trip for my wife from the first day; especially given some of the guests we had invited to stay with us. The kitchen is so small only one person can work in there at at a time (when the dishwasher door is open, you cannot get from one end of the kitchen to the other). The wifi is intermittent at best. While we were told that there was a crane on the adjoining property; in fact, it is a total construction zone with the house in front completely covered with construction "dressing." The owner did not tell us that the local beach is closed (we were unable to figure out how long that has been). Quite concerning, there was a flood of the property--certainly not the owner's fault (in fact, the owner was quite responsive in terms of getting the apartment dried out and cleaned). But, we had significant property damage and my wife sustained minor injuries. But, when I inquired about insurance, the owner simply would not respond. In sum, the village is great, the house is not. I would look elsewhere.

The town of Carate Urio is really very nice. My holiday home is part of the ancient formation nucleus of the town and in many years of work it has always been highly appreciated by my guests, as you can read in the numerous reviews of my property. It is written in the VRBO announcement n. 859005 of my vacation home, in the property description, that the property "lies along a short and wide staircase slightly uphill, in the typical style of the lake", which corresponds to the truth (it is an ancient mule track) , and that there is "a flight of stairs leading to the first floor" and again "stone steps lead from this spectacular area into an additional dining room" then information on the presence of the steps was well disclosed. I wonder why my guests refused my offer of May 9, 2022, when they already knew the property well, for a 100% full refund of what they already spent on their second booking in my holiday home from June 5 to June 30, 2022 (also if the cancellation policy provided for a refund of only 50% between 14 and 30 days before check in on June 5th 2022) if they wanted to cancel their second booking from June 5th to June 30th 2022, and instead they asked me for compensation for the number of days they intended to leave earlier. As for the complaint about the difficulty that some of their guests might have had in climbing the stairs, I remember that my vacation rental is not advertised to accommodate disabled people, it is clearly stated in the advertisement, and in any case the steps in the property were well described. As for the internet, I would like to point out that I have a contract with Telecom Italia, which is the largest and most reliable operator we have in Italy, among other things very expensive on a monthly basis compared to other Italian operators. I also have a contract with Telecom Italia in the apartment on the top floor of the building where the holiday home is located and have never had internet connection problems. Regarding the construction works in the area, I informed my guest in detail by email in January 2022, and even after, of the work in progress on a property behind my vacation home and I had also sent him photos of a crane they had mounted near my property and of the photo satellite of where the villa they were renovating was located. As for the scaffolding covered with sheets mounted in another house opposite but lower than my property (as the houses are located on different levels) , which in any case did not give any disturbance to my guests as there were no works in progress during their stay in my holiday home ( nor did it penalize the magnificent lake view), I was not aware of them as I do not live all the year in Carate Urio and also for me it was a surprise to see them when I arrived in Carate Urio a couple of days before the arrival of my guests. Regarding the closure for this summer of the local beach (I told them the day they arrived) I couldn't tell my guests before they arrived , as even I did not know that the Municipality of Carate Urio had just dismantled a fence wall of the beach because it was unsafe shortly before the arrival of my guests. In any case there is another small but very nice beach, about 20 meters from my holiday home, exactly in front of the street where my holiday home is located. As for the kitchen, is very well equipped for the preparation of both simple breakfasts and important gala dinners, which can be served both at home, in the two dining rooms, and outdoors, on the splendid terrace. As for the water on the ground floor of the property only, I want to point out that it was due to an exceptional climatic event that was also mentioned on TV on the news and that had never happened before. In any case, the house was promptly dried and thoroughly cleaned (even in the parts not affected by water) by the staff I called immediately after the accident and whose expenses I paid. For the insurance I have informed my guests to try to ask VRBO, since such an exceptional climatic event is not part of the normal insurance coverage. However, I asked my guests several times how they were even after the water in the house and they never told me that they had minor injuries, nor did I see them in bad condition, indeed they always told me that they were fine. It seems to me that the attentions towards my guests have been a lot, from the purchase of new deckchairs for the terrace in addition to those already present, to the immediate intervention in case of any need ... to the non-charge of a large umbrella in the terrace that broke because they left it open during a strong storm ...

IL VOLO, most wonderful stay in Curate Urio on Lake COMO!

We enjoyed a most lovely Lake Como vacation with our stay at IL VOLO! Our villa was divine; perfect location to do everything on the lake. Very large, decorated with antiques, each family member enjoyed a separate bedroom with private bath, making getting ready for adventures so much easier! The huge 'cave' living room is very special, built into the mountainside to remain a perfect cool temperature, with controllable cool air vents in the cave walls; it's own natural air conditioning! The deck is expansive, with deck loungers, tables, chairs, umbrellas for sun and GLORIOUS VIEWS! You'll enjoy lovely breakfasts and evening dinners with BIG VIEWS! The location worked out to be surprisingly ideal. The ferry stop is a few minutes walk from the villa. We rented a car, however you can fly into Milan, train to Como, take a lovely boat ride to the house. You just need to be VERY aware of boat times that arrive at URIO, your stop, for all adventures around the lake. We took the boat to Bellagio, Varenna, Torno and so many little beautiful villages as well as the major sites of Villa Carlotta, Villa D'este, all nearby. There are two lovely restaurants very near the villa. You can get food from the large grocery store, a drive away, for dining in, but know you always have excellent dining options just outside your door. We are big swimmers, and IL VOLO is THE place to be. There is a swimming spot directly across the street for quick jumps in the lake, and many convenient access spots to enter the lake along the road. Curate Urio beach club in front of the church is simply magic, and a very short walk from the villa. Lovely grass area, friendly locals, food, beverages, loungers...we enjoyed endless swims in the warm water with afternoon prosecco's on the lawn. Truly unique, compliments of our hosts. When you arrive at the villa, you walk up cobblestone steps to your home. After your holiday you will be in shape! It is doable for most guests, but probably best to avoid for anyone with walking difficulties. Most notable was the kindness and attentiveness of our hosts, Paolo and Laura. They ensure everything is so well organized, answer all questions timely, and are simply delightful people!! They provide excellent resources for sites around the area. The perfect hosts!! Thank you Paolo and Laura, we hope to see you again soon. Il Volo is a wonderful villa, Curate Urio is a very special place and we are so glad we happened upon it.

Beautiful View on Lake Como

This was a beautiful summer apartment on Lake Como. There is a grotto living room that is incredible. The host Laura was a pleasure to meet. My only recommendation is bring mosquito spray in summer. Great location for families!

Clean, large apartment with an incredible view

The apartment is large, very clean and has two floors which gives it a lot of room for 5 to 7 people. The terrace is very big and allows a lot of outdoor living. The view at the lake is absolutely beautiful and you can't get enough of it. The family room which is built "into" the mountain keeps the apartment cool during hot days. It's nice that every bedroom has its own full bathroom. The kitchen is small but big enough to cook in it, and it is very well equipped. The parking space is conveniently only 100 meters away. We didn't mind the steps that one has to walk to the entrance of the apartment since it's the way the houses are built "into the mountains". It's part of the charm of the area. The landlords Paolo and Laura are very well organized and the renting process was very easy and smooth. If you know how to drive a boat, we recommend to rent one in Cernobbio. It's the best way to see the lake. There is only one thing we were missing: Carate Urio isn't a town where you can stroll around and sit in outdoor cafes and such since it doesn't have a "city center"; you have to take the ferry or drive to towns such a Bellagio or Cernobbio. Overall, we highly recommend this apartment.

Fantastic stay

We just returned from a week stay at Il Volo and the place was absolutely perfect. The view from the patio is breath taking and you are steps away from the lake. The apartment is large with every amenity needed. There are TVs in every room. The bathrooms and rooms were large. the cave like living room hewn out of mountain rocks is great. Carate Urio is a quiet little town but within easy driving distance of Como and all the major attractions on the lake. An added bonus is that the ferry is across the street so getting around without a car is possible. We did have a car and the reserved parking spot was extremely convenient. There are some decent restaurants within walking distance of the apartment as well. I would however not recommend the apartment to elder folks due to the steps needed to access it. We felt very welcome and the owners were awesome during the entire rental process as well as our stay. Strongly recommend this place.
