This is a very unique place. You are right on the bay so there’s abundant wildlife to view while sipping coffee or wine off the back porch. Our group has stayed several places along the central coast and this was our favorite so far. 3 of the 4 bedrooms have fantastic views. The logistics of the house are a little wonky - for example the trash for the kitchen is in an adjacent room and the driveway is very long so you need to be careful. Overall it’s a winner. Kit is a very responsive host. You will be happy here

The location was perfect. We had 8 family members and the property accommodated all of us very comfortably. It also had plenty of parking. The beds are very comfortable and was equipped with plenty of towels, kitchen utinsels and such

This was a beautiful home. It was spacious with an amazing outdoor patio, and the view is spectacular. A little disappointed to only find 2 bathrooms since the listing mentions 2 full 2 half.

Wonderful stay with family

We spent just three nights and enjoyed them thoroughly. For our family of 5 the house was a perfect size. It's well equipped with a well stocked kitchen and outdoor cooking options (we BBQ'd the first night). Best of all though is the location, right on the water. We had a pair of sea otters hanging out right off the deck the entire time we were there. Wonderfully peaceful and relaxing location . Highly recommended!

They bring their pups (it will be soon now) and are so entertaining. Indeed, the Bayfront is a great location to watch the wildlife. If you didn’t this vacation, the electric boat rentals are a great way to see the Bay from a differing vantage point. Look forward to seeing you in the near future. Kit🌼

Location, location, location

Lovely location with great outdoor space. The living room area was really cozy. We really enjoyed watching the wildlife right off the deck. The house is well stocked with everything you would need.

Perfect spot on the bay.

This house is a quite the find and it sits right on the waterfront. We loved sitting in the backyard by the fire pit watching the wild life do there thing. Otters, seals, Herons and gulls putting on a show for us. The house is wonderful with plenty of room for our group of 7. Beautifully designed for a seaside stay. Our family and friends meet in Morro bay every year, and this was the best place that we ever stayed. We’ll be returning to to bayfront beach house for sure.

This is such a beautiful home with such a great patio space overlooking the harbor. Sitting right on the water we could experience the tides, otters and all the paddle boarders and kayakers rowing by. The rooms were great and the two main rooms have wonderful views. The kitchen is well set with plenty of dishes and cookware. The main bathroom is large and serves the upstairs well. There is plenty of seating in the living, dining and patio space. The outdoor firepit is perfect for those cool nights. The outdoor lighting is a magical touch. Very close (a few minutes) from all the sites downtown. We had a great dinner at The Galley at the Embarcadero. We highly recommend!!! We all cannot wait to visit again.

Thanksgiving get away

The house was lovely and well equipped. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated with views of Morro Bay from all but one. The large round dining table made for enjoyable conversations during meals and evening games. The waterfront outside areas were well laid out and extremely comfortable. We had wonderful weather and had frequent visits from 2 sea otters through out our stay. Picturesque sunsets

Great family vacaton

Location has to be one of the best in Morro Bay. Absolutely stunning views from inside the house from every room and on the patio right on the water. We had outstanding stay and can never get enough of Morro Bay. The owners were very helpful through the entire process and very easy to work with. The house has absolutely everything you need to just stay there but there is a lot of great places to go to in the town and Kit was extremely helpful in giving recommendation if you want to adventure around.

Great spot on the bay

We really enjoyed our stay, the house had plenty of space to spread out, well stocked kitchen...everything we needed. We had beautiful weather the week we were there so we hung out a lot outside around the table or on the couch and chairs by the fire pit, taking in the view of the bay and watching the birds and the otters. We loved how close the house was to town, rented a golf cart to bomb around town in and also rented a boat and cruised the bay. Our group was a mix of ages from 5 to 77...we made a lot of great memories and everyone had a fantastic time.

Great stay, fantastic property!!

We stayed over Christmas week 2024 to ensure everyone would be together for the holidays. We loved the week in the property, and would definitely consider staying again as we visit my daughter at Cal Poly.Kit, the host, was fantastic. Very friendly, prompt communications, he made everything easy.The property itself sits bayside with great views. We spent a fair amount of time in the outdoor areas just enjoying the bay views, along with the fire pit in the evening.Everyone enjoyed the property, most mentioned was the very modern kitchen which has great appliances, a very modern central "bar", and is well stocked. My wife loved having the Kitchen Aid in particular and spent a lot of time baking for the group through the week.Also mentioned was the bedding which was comfortable and outfitted with warm bedding which helped during the cool evenings.Highly recommend, and will look here depending on how many are with us during future visits.

By far the most well appointed property we’ve rented.

The property is wonderful…clean, comfortable, well appointed with everything you need, and the view…well the view is stunning. Kit is a magnificent host. We hit a snag at check in in that VRBO sent us bad lock information, but the Host contacted us shortly after reaching out and patiently helped us get in. The home is even more updated than the photos would indicate, it’s really lovely and comfortable. There was a bunk room in the photos we would have liked to have had that no longer exists but the listing is entirely true to its word in how many it sleeps and the number of rooms so I chalk that up to a bad assumption on my part that the Host clarified via email before we arrived. Beautiful home, we’re blessed and grateful to have spent a week there…wonderful family vacation! We hope to be back again and again!

Awesome, spacious home with great views and location

Six adults stayed here for 3 days in September and found the home to be very comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked. The lay out of the home is a delight - lots of open space. The bedrooms are spacious. The water is right outside the door and we were treated to seals and an amazing otter send off. Downtown is within walking distance and it was a great location to take advantage of biking and paddling. The Wifi is a little slow - we used the address/ password on the box on the upstairs TV because the address/ password listed on our welcome info didn't work. One thing to know up front: The home is listed as dog friendly, but dogs are not allowed upstairs and all the bedrooms are all upstairs. If you're a dog owner whose spoiled dog is accustom to sleeping in her crate in your room, this may present a challenge at bedtime. Fortunately, husband says the downstairs couch is very comfortable. Also, there's also no way to block the stairs to keep the dogs downstairs but I highly recommend stacking the poufs from the living room in the doorway!

Dear Stacey and family, So happy to hear that you enjoyed the home and its location directly on the waterfront. We also love to walk to the embarcadero, the shops, golf course, and restaurants. Our teenagers ride their bikes to the movie theatre and think it is funny that only one movie plays at a time. Small town, small movie theatre! Yes, we request that everyone keep their pooches downstairs with the hardwood floors. Upstairs is carpeted and we need to keep it clean and smelling great for our none animal families, as well. Great place to celebrate a birthday

We chose this property to celebrate my Dad’s 95 Birthday. He had a wonderful time, as did all. I love all the windows showing the water, Sea life and boats. The home is furnished comfortably, and has a large inside and outside area for entertaining. Kit and Patrick got back to us quickly when we had a question regarding the property.

Graduation weekend

Water Front Paradise

This water front house was amazing. First, the location is absolutely prime. You are literally on the water front to the bay. We woke up to sea otters playing in the water right outside the bedroom window each morning, who could ask for more. This is also the last house down a long driveway. The location is very quiet and secluded and away from the street. You feel alone and it is very relaxing. The house itself was in great condition. The kitchen and showers have been renovated recently and were very modern and functional. The living room and bedrooms have walls of windows and you feel like your outside. It makes the water front location even better. You won't want to get out of bed in the master bedroom in the morning.... The house is about 3 minutes from the main street shops of Morro Bay, and only about 20 minutes from the shopping in SLO. The owner Kit was easy to deal with and everything was as advertised. They did not bother us at all, but responded quickly to any questions. I will be coming back to this one!!

Wonderful little gem right on the bay!

What a little gem of a place! The pictures don't really do the view justice. Built in the 1940's this place is just oozing with charm! Little details make this place feel like you are being transported back in time, while the updated appliances, flat-screens, and wi-fi bring you back to today. We stayed for 5 nights and hated to leave! Both bathrooms have been updated with large showers complete with rainwater shower heads. Flatscreens with cable are everywhere they are needed. The beds were so comfortable it was hard to crawl out of them each morning however the view and the sounds of the bay make that issue short-lived. Although it is walking distance to the Embarcadero, with our group we opted to drive down. (Some bad knees in our group) Lots of great food is nearby as well, as plenty of shops if that's your thing. Overall, we really enjoyed the peacefullness of Sole Mate. Once we settled in, it was hard to motivate leaving. We found ourselves wanting to cook instead of eating out. Speaking of which, we really enjoyed the gourmet kitchen. All new appliances include two ovens, dishwasher, double door fridge and 4 burner gas cooktop. Filtered water was also a plus so we didn't have to rely on bottled water for the whole trip. Usually I leave a place with a laundry list of suggestions, this time only a couple of minor suggestions for the owners. They've done a great job with this place and we look forward to coming back for years to come!

I rented SoleMate for my family of four plus my parents for this past Memorial Day weekend. This home was perfect for the six of us. Grandpa was able to tow his fishing boat and park it literally on the other side of the fence, which is where the parking lot and boat launch are located. Parking is only $5.00 a night. We fished for two days and caught plenty! There is a cleaning station conveniently located near the launch, so we were able to clean our fish immediately and with ease. We also brought our mountain bikes and had a beautiful ride along the golf course near the water. In the opposite direction is downtown, and dinner was at a restaurant with a window seat so we could look at the bay. The town of Morro Bay is quaint and charming and uncrowded. I grew up on the beaches of Pismo, Avila and Shell, and I prefer Morro Bay much, much more! Regarding the house, three out of the four bedrooms have water views, and the view from the master upstairs is spectacular! The living room also has a water view. There is plenty of room to move around in the house, and with six people it never felt crowded. This is an old home, but she has good bones, and for her age everything looks great. Our family is well-traveled, and my kids are tough critics, but they LOVED SoleMate! It's mostly the feeling you have when you're in the house. It's one of tranquility. Since this house is located at the very end of the street and on the water, nothing will obstruct your view of the bay, and you will see no one around you when you're at the house. It is perfectly quiet other than what's happening on the bay. And there's plenty to see just glancing out the window: birds, sea otter, boats, people having fun (but at a distance). The only issue with the home was the squeaky hinges on every door upstairs. Every time someone opened or closed a door, we'd hear the squeaks all the way downstairs. The squeaks also woke us up in the middle of the night if someone used the bathroom. I wrote to Kit, the owner, and she will address this issue immediately. Quick fix with WD40! It also would be nice if the fireplace was gas burning so there could be some ambience in the living room when the fog rolls in. Other than that, if you're looking for tranquility in a beautiful home in a perfectly centralized location, SoleMate is the place. We plan to stay again in the near future! Thanks, Kit!! Our parents bought this home on the waterfront in Morro Bay in the 1950’s. We renovated the home in 2020. It is just a great place to relax and enjoy the views. We love coming up on weekends and holidays to ride bikes, paddle board, hike, and eat at our favorite restaurants.
