Perfect for days or weeks on holiday

Maria's place was awesome for us to stay a week and a half. 5 of us total and we barely needed any of the space. Hopefully in the future, we'll bring our whole big extended family back to stay again.

My family of five stayed at Maria's home. My adult children are in love with this place. The home is exactly as you see it. They loved the water and beach, the porch and the yard. This home was the third stop on our visit to Greece and the quiet was exactly what we needed. Home is clean but needs some TLC and would show better if they removed the owner's items that have been there of years. (Items in closets and medicine cabinet on main floor) Dishwasher doesn't clean well and I felt the needed to clean any kitchen items before using them. Could use new cookware. Beds are not very comfortable but that seems to be a common issue throughout our travels. These few unflattering comments should not stop you from stay here. If you're looking for a waterfront home with privacy this is the place. We had a great time.

Thank you Kathleen for your nice words. Regarding the dishwasher, it is brand new but unfortunately it came out to be a defective one. Of course, we will fix it or replace it. I hope we will host you and your party again to Maria Christina's house.

Summer Holiday

Location is good, house is on the beach and you access the sea from the backyard. The beach is narrow and with pebbles, but we found sunbeds at the location and it was fine. The place is quiet, yet close to the town (by car), however you have a very good restaurant you can walk to. Many thanks to Maria for hosting us and thanks to Vasilis for his tips regarding suroundings.

Authentic Greek house right on the water with lovely views

We really enjoyed this quirky house on the water. The views from the windows were beautiful and it was nice and quiet at night with only the sounds of the waves. The two gentlemen who met us to check in and out were very helpful and easy to contact by Whatsapp or phone. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. Do be prepared for some quirkiness from an older Greek building, such as needing to flip the breakers for the water heaters. This house could sleep a ton of people - there are many beds! Many of the mattresses seem brand new and are quite hard, but that is just a matter of personal preference. Also, please look carefully at photos if your group has any mobility issues - there are a couple steps down from the door to the main living area, and spiral stairs up or down to most of the bedrooms. None of this bothered us at all - just sharing for future visitors to be aware. Thanks for a lovely stay - hopefully we'll be back someday! :)

Fijn vakantiehuis aan zee

Fijn, ruim vakantiehuis met grote tuin aan zee. Goed geoutilleerd, alleen weinig kookpannen. Badkamers verouderd maar netjes. Wij hebben het met het hele gezin, 6 volwassenen en 3 kinderen heel fijn gehad. Veel bezocht in de omgeving.

Magnifique vacances

Très bon endroit et maison les pieds dans l'eau pour des retrouvailles en famille. Un très bon accueil et contact avec la propriétaire. Une maison très bien équipée et très agréable à vivre même en hiver.

Séjour agreable

Séjour très agréable hélas gâché par le mauvais temps. La maison était parfaite pour nôtre séjour familial (3 générations réunis). Sans être d'un grand confort la maison à tous les équipements nécessaires et permet un agréable séjour. On a pas pu profiter de la plage au bout du jardin. Nous avons rayonnees pour visiter la Grèce.

Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt

Wir durften 7 Tage in diesem schönen Ferienhaus verbringen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus liegt wie beschrieben am Meer mit Kiesstrand, Badeschuhe sind also empfehlenswert. Es ist sehr geräumig und besonders hat uns das Wohnzimmer mit dem Kamin gefallen. Das WLan hat super funktioniert, was in Ferienwohnungen nicht immer der Fall ist. Das Grundstück war gut gepflegt. Die Lage war für uns perfekt, da wir Ausflüge z.B. nach Athen (mit der Bahn), nach Dephi, Epidaurus und Mykene unternommen haben. Sehr leckeres Eis konnten wir auf Empfehlung von Maria bei Noufaro genießen. Vielen herzlichen Dank für den Tipp. Wir bedanken uns vielmals bei Maria, Vassilis und Manthos für die Gastfreundschaft und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Séjour très agreable

Maison sur une petite plage pas très fréquentée, très agréable pour se reposer. Emplacement parfait pour sillonner le Péloponnèse. Marie la propriétaire est disponible et très réactive à la moindre question . Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances

Prachtig vakantiehuis

Heel mooi en verzorgd huis direct aan zee. We verbleven er met 9 personen. Alle voorzieningen aanwezig zoals beschreven en nog veel meer. Zelfs speelgoed voor aan zee. Topper!

Nice quiet area!

We have really enjoyed our stay at Maria Christina's house. Nice quiet area, everything is reachable by car. Takes 5-15 minutes only to find a grocery store, other beaches or restaurants. We were there all together by 10 people. The house is an old Greek style. Comfortable with a gorgeous view!

Es ist Geschmacksache ...

... ob man sich in einem Haus wohlfühlen kann, in welchem offensichtlich die Familie seit geraumer Zeit viele Einrichtungsgegenstände aus verschiedenen Epochen, inklusive Geschirr, Besteck etc sammelt. Natürlich mag es der Inhaberin oder dem Inhaber schwer fallen, sich von solchen Dingen zu trennen. Für uns als Urlauber macht es den Eindruck eines Haushaltes im Beginn eines 'Messi'-Zustandes. Wir hatten dieses Haus ursprünglich für weitere 3 Monate im Sommer 2019 gebucht, haben davon aber Abstand genommen. Was uns in diesem Zusammenhang ebenfalls gewundert hat ist, dass vor dem Hintergrund, dass wir bereit waren insgesamt einen stolzen, 5-stelligen Euro-Betrag auszugeben, bei der Schlüsselübergabe durch die Agentur erst einmal alle Fensterläden geöffnet werden mussten und weitere Mängel festgestellt wurden. Das Haus und der Garten hatten unter dem Medicane der vergangenen Woche gelitten - da ist jeder machtlos und das wird natürlich auch nicht negativ bewertet - dass aber keinerlei Anstalten gemacht wurden, die Feuchtigkeit aus dem Haus zu vertreiben (intensives Lüften hätte sicher den Modergeruch vertrieben), wunderte uns sehr. Auch wurde erst bei Übergabe festgestellt, dass das Licht in der Küche nicht funktioniert. Die Heizung war in der ganzen Woche (es war durchaus kalt in den Nächten Anfang Oktober) nicht funktionstüchtig - wir haben uns dann halt in dem einen oder anderen Raum mit Heizöfen beholfen. Ob Altmetall, ausrangierte Stühle, ein nicht mehr funktionsfähiges Boot u.ä. im Garten toleriert werden müssen, lässt sich diskutieren, ebenso wie diverse Putzmittel, die über die Terrassen verteilt sind. Insgesamt haben wir uns nicht recht wohl gefühlt, obwohl die Kommunikation mit Maria vor, während und nach unserem Aufenthalt immer zügig und professionell war. Letztlich noch die Empfehlung, die Bilder des Angebotes der Realität anzupassen, denn die beiden Palmen sind inzwischen einer grassierenden Krankheit zum Opfer gefallen. Es stehen nur noch traurige Stümpfe. Wir sind in der Woche viel herumgereist um eine Alternative für die drei Monate im Sommer 2019 zu finden, welche wir auch gefunden haben. Dabei haben wir noch wesentlich schlechtere Angebote gesehen. Vielleicht sind Häuser dieser Größe halt oft ehemalige Familiendomizile in denen sich in Haus und Garten über Generationen verschiedenes ansammelt, ohne dass es auf einen Standard für professionelle Vermietung gebracht wird.

I am sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay at Maria-Christina’s house. However, you were notified that the house and the surroundings were not at their best due to the severe floods that hit the area. As a matter of fact, I offered you the option to cancel your visit with full refund. Due to the extreme circumstances, the humidity in the house could not be dealt with effectively within a short period of time. As for the heater, it functions perfectly well; the burner was not on at the time of your visit, since it is practically never needed before November for the typical local weather conditions. It wasn’t clear to me that you needed it, otherwise I could have fixed it right away, as we did for a light bulb… It is the first time that I receive comments about the “mixture” of various things, including dishes. However, I followed your recommendation in an earlier message and replaced the dishes and the glasses with a uniform set, including the wine glasses. It is a pity that the palm trees are gone. That was a recent development; the photos will be updated. I wish you the best for your upcoming summer vacations in Greece.

Perfectly located house on the beach !!!!

We have a perfect time, your house is gorgeous and magnificent and the beach just behind the door is extremely wonderful. We have never been in such a wonderful place on any our vacation before. We are extremely satisfy with your house, we liked a lot that the interiors are decorated with a heart, and with attention to detail, comfortable and pleasant. Your house is perfectly matched for our 3 families (6 kids 6 adults). Location at the sea is perfect, your garden with so many beautiful flowers, lemon trees, and those fragrances .... and the palm..... choisya, honeysuckles and jasmine fragrant, oleanders.... unforgettable... And the sound of the sea heard in the bedroom.... And we have plenty of fun in the sea with your boat (unfortunately a little drowning, but still fun ;-). We have felt there the atmosphere of a loving family, your house is equipped with everything (from washing liquid, pharmaceutics, to tennis rockets... everything). we would love to come here one more time... Please give thanks to the cleaning lady, she was very kind and make our vacation even more amazing...... And all this we could have with affordable price for us.. thank you Maria... ;-)

Enjoyed my stay at Maria Christina' s house

The house is spatious, comfortable and very functional. The appliances are in good shape – nothing is missing. The whole family, four of us, spent five days there and loved the place. The front terrace is a real joy and so does the balcony of the upper floor. The view to the sea and the distant mountains is a way to the ultimate relaxation. The beach is practically private and it feels like you can jump from the bead directly into it – well, you have to walk through the beautiful garden. What I enjoyed the most was the quality of sleep and the early morning coffee drinking in the upper balcony.

Wonderful place for staying !

It is only one and a half hours to get from the center of Athens to this amazing location with the sea in front of the door of the house. I have spent many summers in this house and the first thought that comes to me is relaxation. The house is made entirely of stone and wood with a garden with a lawn that ends on the beach without the road to pass from the front, making it ideal for a family with young children. The view and the air of the sea from the veranda of the house, make you not to want to leave home at all. Less than a 5-minute drive is Xylokastro for shopping and walking to its shops. All the above ψombined with the hospitality of the owners, promise a wonderful staying !
