This place was awesome! The views are amazing and the chalet accommodates nicely. There’s also a great neighborhood kitty cat that loves to hang out on the deck with you. We really enjoyed everything about this place….keep in mind it it very steep terrain so if you have mobility issues that could pose a problem but they do have taxis. We wouid stay here again if we ever comeback to Switzerland.

Great apartment, stunning views. Yes the path from the chalet to the village has some steep parts but what do you expect when you’re visiting the alps? We had a great stay and Wengen was wonderful as always.

Magnificent views of the Lauterbrunnen valley

Spacious 3 bedroom apartment in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Well appointed kitchen and laundry facilities. Loved our stay.

Wengen is amazing. Chalet was perfect. Very well appointed kitchen as we made meals in. It had everything we needed. Everyone wants to come back. Thanks for a great stay.

Very good place for family to spend time

This chalet was reasonably priced for busy season travel to the Wengen. The Chalet is 5 mins walk from Wengen railway station. Our entire experience was very positive about this property i.e. price, check-in, communication with owner, facilities, space etc.

The view from the chalet is exceptionally stunning without a doubt and a considerable amount of time will be spent on the balcony enjoying it as changes occur from day to day with differing cloud formations.The chalet is located at the bottom of a rather steep road. Unless you are training for the sled pulling Olympics, you should reserve a taxi to take your luggage back up to the train station when departing. Cost 25 chf. Save yourself a heart attack. If you are directionally impaired, you might consider doing this on the front end as well. The directions to the chalet given by the host might not get you where you should be - we had to use Google maps - and it will also ensure that your luggage does not end up in a cow pasture after slipping out of your hands. Because the chalet is located at the end of this steep road, you have to walk up this road every day to get literally anywhere. To the Coop is about 10 minutes.The chalet has three bedrooms upstairs which are shared by two separate showers and one separate small toilet. This is a bit of an odd and inconvenient configuration. The second toilet is downstairs.

Mountain View was great! Don’t try to walk uphill or downhill with luggage-take a taxi instead. I was surprised by the number of vehicles in a town that claims to be car free. Host never responded to our outreach. Glad we didn’t have issues because I am not confident we would have received a response.

3rd trip to Wengen

The view is amazing, can see the valley floor and waterfall up the end of the valley. The space is nice and roomy and the owner responses quickly, especially through WhatsApp.

Beautiful view

Loved this home! The view is amazing and the home is very clean. As mentioned another reviews, it is quite the walk up and down the hill from the train station, especially after hiking all day long, but we felt it was worth the view.

Beautiful space with even better views. You are in the mountains, so expect a steep grade down to the space and back up. Washing machine was out of commission, but they provided an alternative. Leaking sink upstairs.

Wengen Christmas!!!

Wonderful Wengen!!!! Loved our time here! Perfect spot for Christmas with 4 adults. The view down the valley from the chalet is magical. Perfect chalet, well appointed. Everything you need is here. Suzanne was very helpful via VRBO host contacting. The reviews are correct in that it is fairly steep hill to property, but manageable. I agree with using a taxi for arrival and departure. Wengen much better than nearby towns like Grindenwald that seemed much more congested and touristy. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Beautiful views of the valley. Very nice space for 6 adults. Very clean. The upstairs bathrooms are small as expected. There was a leak in the bedroom sink that was waiting for a part to repair. The washing machine did not work and was going to be replaced. The walk up to town is very steep. We used the cab a few time’s and it was 20 franc one way.

We had been staying in Lauterbrunnen, since that’s what came up after many weeks of Google searches about best towns to stay. All of Switzerland is gorgeous so I can’t really complain about one town versus another but wow, were my searches off. Maybe I didn’t know how to research, but Wengen is by far one of the most amazing places we’ve ever been. Close to the Lauterbrunnen waterfalls, incredible hikes, breathtaking views, skiing…The host is absolutely wonderful, the chalet is beautiful, clean, with great coffee and an amazing coffee machine for the coffee lovers, morning coffee with views…perfectly located. My kids were excited to walk to the grocery store by themselves in the morning and nobody wanted to leave. Host was super accommodating when we wanted to stay extra. Oh, and the cat! We absolutely loved the cat, he came to visit every evening and brought a friend on the third day. My heart stayed in that place. I cannot say enough good things about the town, the host, and the chalet. Best spring break ever!

Incredible view!

Everything about chalet Sulegg was as expected in terms of accommodations. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. We did a little laundry too.The view was breathtakingly stupendous! Changing all day with clouds coming and going. The walk up and down is pretty extreme, 200 vertical feet in about a third of a mile. We took a cab up on departure day with luggage, 25 CHF, worth every penny. I would recommend taking a cab down on your first day, the driver knows where Sulegg is.

Too many steps

Too many steps is a horrible understatement . It’s a half mile downhill and impossible to get to restaurant or grocery store without major effortOn the other hand the place is immaculate and the view is fantastic

I am sorry that you did not enjoy the walk. We have had hundreds of guests and you are the first to be unable to get to shops. The drop from the station is 100m at most. We do ask for you to confirm your ability to walk in our house rules and when you accept this we assume you are physically able. I would advise you to check this before you book anywhere else in a mountainous area as mountain villages are often steeper by their nature. As you accepted the need to be physically able in the rules we will be asking VRBO to remove this review.

I’m not sure you could find a better view! We loved our stay. I read all the reviews so was prepared for the walk uphill into town. Yes it is steep, but my 7 and 4 year old could do it. If you are planning to do any type of hiking you’ll be fine. Very comfortable space, we were a family of 2 adults and 3 kids and had plenty of space. It was very quiet, my kids described it as magical! Unfortunately the washing machine wasn’t working during our stay but thankfully there was a laundry room on the same floor of the building so it ended up being ok. We are already talking about a return trip!

Great apartment in Wengen

We stayed at Chalet Sulegg in January 2025 for a skiing holiday. As a family of five adults the apartment was more than big enough for all of us. The apartment was clean and adequately stocked. The directions to the chalet good be improved by using what3words as it is not completely clear when you haven’t been to Wengen before. Definitely get a taxi from the station if you have lots of luggage as the hill is steep down to the chalet. On the huge plus side it has an incredible view of the valley and without luggage the walk to and from the town takes about 10mins and gets the heart pumping!

The Views Are Unparralelled

Everything was perfect about the property, centrally located, quiet, easy to get around and beautiful place and views. Getting there was a little challenging and the communication wasn’t timely. The coordinates given wouldn’t pinpoint the location and there was not any other information given. Luckily we found it just before dark. Otherwise it was perfect.
