The location of this rental is great, with lots of shops, restaurants,and the beach within walking distance. However we had significant issues and concerns over this rental. The largest was we were unable to get into the apartment with the key thatwas left for us. A neighbor attempted to help us as well and they wereunsuccessful and commented that "they probably left the wrong keyagain." We contacted the host and they arrived after 2 hours and theywere unable to open the door with the key supplied and instead used aseparate key to unlock the door. The key we were originally suppliedwith did work on the latch after this. Later on in our trip we madethe apparent mistake of deadbolting the door when we left for the day.Upon our return we were unable to unlatch the deadbolt. We attemptedto contact the host and there was no response. We contacted VRBO'shelp line, and they were also unable to contact the host. We werestranded with most of our belongings locked inside. Fortunately wewere eventually able to unlatch the deadbolt after more than 45minutes of being locked outside. The deadbolt was not functioningproperly and the key had to be ever so just right to operate thedeadbolt. The key would turn but not disengage the deadbolt if not ina very precise spot. The deadbolt is a significant concern and wehighly advise it be replace. The railing on the balcony is completely degraded and rusted through on one end and is entirely unsafe.
