This is not a vacation rental this is a primary residence with many shortcomings. I rented this home for a personal event with the intention to use the backyard and pool for it. To my disbelief when I arrived at the residence the pictures of the property we’re misleading the pictures on the post were of a clean and clear of personal clutter, meanwhile the reality was that there is a lot personal clutter everywhere! That had not been deep cleaned in quite some time. The refrigerator had spoiled food. The backyard is filled with old tools and gadgets everywhere. There was a board on the floor that caused many accidents. The pool was dirty and when I reached out to the host he blamed it on a dust storm that had happened prior to my reservation. My son was very excited for the pool and didn’t care that it wasn’t clean so he played in the water before I was able to get him out. Several hours later he broke out in hives in the areas that he had dunked in the pool. I was determined to have a good event completely unaware that if I would have contacted Vrbo they might have been able help me.(wish is what the said after over an hour of talking to rep after the reservation was over) I had professional pool company come to clean the pool. They unfortunately told me that the pool could not be used because it had been shocked with chlorine and the paint was chipping that combination made for hazardous water and not recommended to swim. I am currently in a case with Vrbo to get compensation for the pool cleaning and cleaner that I had to call in emergency and hopefully a refund but according to the representatives I should have called while I was still at the property and I might not be able to get any resolution I am feeling defeated and without any motivation to use Vrbo again If anyone has a recommendation for how to navigate through this or if I can help anyone not go through this is the purpose of this review.

I have been renting my house for well over 10 years. During this time my reviews have been 99.99% overwhelmingly great. Not good, but great. Carla was upset because I had some exercise equipment, yoga mats, dumbbells, ab roller, inversion table, and an elliptical. These are things for my guest that they had suggested would make the property better. My pictures don’t have many of the upgrades I have including a very nice and large couch, new dinner table, multiple large screen TV’s, large jacuzzi, and pool heater, new multiple bedroom paint and decor. I take pride in the communication with my guest and give them what they want. Her disrespect by taking every picture of my daughter and family down. She used the extra tables and chairs I got for her for free, and left them in disarray in my back yard. She drank many of the alcoholic drinks I left for her for free. Her and her kids defaced my pool area as well as threw rocks and chalk in my pool. She complained about my pool not being cleaned and a dust storm did come and my pool guy came early and said the pool cleaner was taking care of it. She says she had a pool guy come and then blame me for over chlorinated pool, that does not happen if the pool is dirty. Never saw a receipt for the pool guy and whoever messed with it has my pool cleaner not working. Besides tape on the ceiling, destroyed BBQ, and flowers, food, and gosh knows what on the floor and sticky residue on my patio, she has the audacity to ask for her money back when I was in communication everyday with her. I have and always will take care of my guest as I did with her. This home is always scrubbed from top to bottom with the best house cleaner in the world. No food was spoiled and only cheese and condiments which are not expired in the fridge. Such disregard for the truth says enough about if I would ever recommend Carla for renting my place or any other place ever. My history and my hundreds of comments before and after her stay says enough. The pictures I have from her stay and our communication says how her review versus reality are far different. No house is perfect and though I believe mine is really a great property with so many amenities, I guess you can’t please everyone. People wanting something for nothing are not people who should be allowed to rent on this site or any other site. I have never responded to any review but I will not let this ridiculous review go without a response.

Retirement party

The owner was very nice. He wanted to make sure we would be comfortable and have what we needed. He left me his cell phone number and said to call him if we had any issues. I had never been at a vrbo house before, John made it a nice experience. We had plenty of space for all of the people that came to the party. It was clean. I would rent this house again. Thank you.

Great Weekend!!!

Thanks a bunch to John - the property owner. He was so responsive and accommodating regarding a few requests. We were celebrating our sons 21st birthday and had lots of friends come a go throughout the weekend - the setup was perfect. Pool, jacuzzi, pool table - were all big hits! It was a quick weekend trip and once we checked in - never left! Thanks again John - we truly enjoyed our stay.

Scottsdale Paradise!!

I can't say enough good things about this listing. John was incredibly helpful (he even came by and helped me get the heat lamps running). Everything was super clean (including the pool/hot tub). His rules were very straight forward and no fuss. We were hanging out outside pretty late, and the neighbors didn't cause any problems. If you're looking for a place for a large group, don't look any farther!

Great Bachelor Party weekend

We were gathering for my Son's Bachelor party. We had guests from MD, VA, PA, and AZ as well as a number of local guests. Great house for small celebratory gatherings like this. Lot's of outdoor heaters for the season. The pool table was well used and also doubled as a great poker table. Lots of everything we needed to make the party work. Overall very comfortable house that made the weekend even better than we originally planned. This is a come back place.

Wedding weekend

My family stayed at John’s property to attend my wedding. John’s very accommodating and communicative. The property is spacious and was more than enough room for a large family gathering. The location is great since it’s so close to everything in Scottsdale and the freeway. My family enjoyed their stay for sure.

Great owner, great trip!

John is a great property owner to work with, very attentive and responsive. After meeting upon check-in to make sure we were set he checked in a few times to ensure we had no issues. The hot tub was a tremendous bonus as the week was colder than normal but the dog access, family friendly location cannot be overstated. Will definitely return, thanks John.

Perfect Location

Great time with everything you need. The house is in the perfect proximity to Old Town Scottsdale and golf courses. Prefect place where you can revive in the pool after golfing and before hitting the nightlife. There's a nice pool table, multiple TV's and a jacuzzi!

Staying in this property is a pleasure. There was just enough room and space for all of us.

This property has a nice host who was very thorough in tour of the house and regulations. We love the kitchen that was big enough for all our cooking and there was enough room for all of us. We will definitely recommend it to our friends

Awesome Stay!

My friends and I came in from different parts of CA and AZ for the weekend to celebrtate a 30th birthday and this rental couldn't have been more perfect for the occasion! Besides the fact that the property was in a very convinient area, John the landlord makes your stay that much easier! He is a very kind individual that attends to all your needs in a timely manner. All of the appliances worked, clean sheets, clean towels, the whole nine. Overall great property that i would highly recomend to anyone.

Weekend celebration/getaway

Renting this property was excellent. We used it to celebrate a graduation and a little getaway. John was an awesome property manager and very easy to get contact with when I had an issue. I would highly recommend renting from him as he made everything very easy.

Great stay!

We stayed at John's property with 10 guys for the Waste Management open. John was incredibly friendly and generous making our check in and check out process seamless. The house is located in a very convenient location near the highway for easy access to nearby restaurants and bars. We were able to sleep 10 people comfortably and overall really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a spot in Scottsdale, John's home is a great option.

Guys Trip

This house was great! We had our annual guys trip and the house had everything we needed. We had 9 people, plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. The pool was perfect temp, all appliances and amenities in great condition. Location couldn’t have been any more perfect. 5 minute Uber to Downtown Scottsdale, 25 minutes from Airport/downtown Phoenix. John greeted us when we arrived and went over everything we needed to know about the property. If we needed something he was very responsive. No problems with any neighbors, and safe area. Will definitely rent again.

The house is in a great centralized area (quick drive to restaurants and groceries) & the neighborhood is quiet. John was a pleasure to work with and made sure if we needed anything he was only a phone call away. The the beds are super comfortable and the layout is nice for a large group.It should be noted that this is his personal residence which means his items are throughout the house and old car & boat took up the driveway space, however there is plenty of street parking. The backyard overtime seems to have accumulated scrap items, old grills, metal and other various random items around the inside fence line of the backyard and side of the house (all in view from the backyard sitting area) not really what you expect to see from a vacation rental while grilling out or laying in the pool. That was probably the biggest disappointment/turn off during our stay:( Also, as mentioned in a previous review the WiFi is extremely slow to the point you cannot stream or download anything. However, I will say that John goes above and beyond to provide propane, charcoal, toiletries, bedding and towels which is a huge bonus. The house had spices and condiments for us to use which was nice to not have to buy everything... We really had a great time staying here aside from the notable flaws. I think John offers a great place for the price!!

Wonderful stay!

We stayed here for a bachelorette party. There were 11 of us and there was still plenty of room. We grilled and made breakfast in the morning and there was plenty of utensils, plates, etc. John was available whenever we had questions or needed anything. It was about a $6 Uber ($10 Uber XL) to Old Town Scottsdale. Would definitely recommend this house and will be coming back again!

Great location near old town Scottsdale and in a really nice neighborhood. John was incredible with answering email questions and having the house ready for us. It is a great set up and wish we had less plans during our weekend stay to have just hung out in the backyard and enjoyed the facilities.

As a person who grew up in the Midwest, I wanted to make the house to have all the amenities with a comfortable feel. Comfortable furniture and great flow throughout, this house makes you feel right at home.

This property has all the amenities for a family, couples retreat, or a group of golfers. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Absolutely the best location in the city as the house is located close enough to jump on the highway and yet still just minutes away from Old Town Scottsdale.

This house has great "Bones". I have personally remodeled this house over the last 15 years. I made sure I kept the character of the house but added all the amenities for comfortable living. Huge rooms throughout including a Master bedroom with a desk/printer and a large bathroom with a spa like shower with 3 different shower heads.
