Lovely place to stay

Mary and Anders make you feel very welcome. The apartment is warm and comfortable. It is situated close to walking tracks, has a deck with a nice mountain view and was perfect for our dog. Would happily stay again.

Clean and comfortable accommodation

Loved our short break in the very clean and well equipped accommodation. Deck area was fully fenced so safe and secure for our dog. A big thank you to Mary and Angus our wonderful hosts.

cosy little slice of the Yarra Rangers

i hired this property because it is dog friendly and it was perfect. nice cosy little space with beautiful gardens. the dog loved the in enclosed area outside to explore. it was easy to get around and close to some walking trails. would totally stay here again

Mount Heaven

Fantastic, cosy property! Home away from home and gateway to the Yarra Valley to boot. Great beds, shower, heating, outdoor area and kitchen. Appeal to young families as well as couples retreat. Fantastic hosts can’t wait for the next time, thank you

Cosy and convenient

Loved our stay at Mary and Anders accommodation. The gas fire , TV and comfy bed were greatly appreciated . We had such a great time exploring the Yarra Valley from our base in Mt Evelyn and only being around 90 minutes from the city was an added bonus .

Lovely in Mount Evelyn

What an idyllic spot, Mount Evelyn, with its abundance of available walking trails and proximity to the Dandenong Ranges. Mary was an exemplary host, with lovely personal touches to ensure our confortable short stay in the cozy fire-heated conversion. We were so happy to be able to stay where our dogs were welcome. Loved it.

Perfect stay with lovely hosts.

We had a very enjoyable stay here the house is beautiful very quiet and relaxing. The place was suited very well for young children as we have 2 toddlers. They really enjoyed the trampoline in the garden. The hosts were very accommodating and even helped us get last min tickets to the puffing billy. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A blend of the best

We had a wonderful stay in the mountains of Mt. Evelyn. Our hosts brought the best of Europe and Australia to us through their hospitality, the accommodations, the surroundings, and their gracious kindnesses. We were so impressed by all that they offered, and we would go back there in a heartbeat! They are truly a blend of the best!

Perfectly peaceful

Mary and Anders were amazing hosts. The property had everything including washer & dryer came in handy when I extended my stay. Beautiful outlook. Kookaburras at your doorstep. Dogs were free to wonder the yard. Highly recommend.

Great area

Lovely area, Kookaburras laughing were a standout. Great views of the hills. Just one 'complaint'...... it was a pity that the backyard area wasn't totally enclosed, as our dogs had to be on the lead the whole time outside the carport area. Even though they are little dogs they do like to explore, I understand that there may have been a perceived issue about picking up droppings after them, but we are vigilant about picking up after our dogs. Otherwise it was adequate for our purpose of stay. Mary and Anders were very attentive, and concerned when we had a power outage due to storms.

Four nights sojourn

The property was in a quiet lovely location, very near to all the Yarra Valley wineries, cafes, galleries, breweries and cheese making. The facility is good if you are having trouble with your mobility, shower chair and toilet seat provided. The larger bathroom has a shower which can be used for people who have to sit in the shower. Not suitable for wheelchair users though. But very usable for walking frame and walkers. It is big enough for a family of four. The Apple TV service was wonderful. Wi-Fi excellent. Milk and chocolates and Timtams provided. In the fridge there was, Brie cheese and quince jelly. The gas fire was amazing as it was really cold. We had a barbecue tea one night using the lovely barbecue supplied. Everything was lovely, Mary the hostess came on arrival and showed me around and explained everything to me. She was also there when I left and interested in how everything went. 5* I wouldn’t hesitate to tell family and friends about it.

A lovely cottage

Mary and Anders cottage was lovely and on a quiet street near the Aquaduct trail. Mt Evelyn has everything you need including some lovely cafes. We took our two little dogs and they enjoyed the garden and the walks

Fantastic short stay

This was a great base for a visit to Melbourne. Caught train to city. Hosts were fantastic. Beyond clean and very comfortable. We had our dog with us and was safe yard to leave him for the day. Nice touches with cheese and chockies most appreciated. Thank you. We will be back.

Quiet, Cosy Retreat

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Mary and Anders provide a sparkling clean, comfortable & cosy apartment with all the amenities you need for a little getaway. The fireplace, along with the outlook into the little courtyard and the views across the hills to Mt Dandenong in these quiet surrounds added to the peace and tranquillity we were after for our few days away. We’d be more than happy to return some time. Thank you Mary & Anders for your warmth & hospitality & for your attention to the details that ensured our specific needs were met.

Mountain Loveliness

We loved our stay here. Mary and Anders are the perfect hosts! Plenty of room for our Labradors to roam outside and good undercover areas too. Warm and cosy! We had moved away from Melbourne to the North east and come back for regular Doctor and Dentist appointments...We were able to stretch our few appointments over 4 nights with our Labradors this time. The spectacular beauty of the area is wonderful. Close to busier Lilydale if you need with multiple dog friendly parks (try the great Mt Evelyn Recreation Reserve next to the footy ground). Beautifully presented and great walking amongst the Mountain Ashes and along Olinda Creek. Or the Lilydale Dog off leash area just below the Lake. Thank you!

Wonderful get away!

Thanks for having us in your home, was very clean and beautiful and we especially loved sitting on the porch looking at the birds and smelling all the blossoming flowers. Warm fire and Netflix was a bonus! And the trails were gorgeous too. Thank you so much Mary!

A great spot to relax and enjoy the surrounding area.

Perfect for family of 4 and a dog! Small bathroom but clean and very comfortable. A little “bolt-hole” gem with very helpful hosts.

Very Impressed!

We loved our getaway in the Dandenongs, the accommodation was immaculately clean and well presented. The icing on the cake for us was that we were able to take our dog, she was very safe in a secure area right at the back door and was even able to come inside in the kitchen area. The facilities ensued we had every comfort we needed.
