We loved the woodsy views out of all of the windows, enjoyed the fire pit and beach rentals, and had a lovely vacation!

Relaxing stay in a quiet community.

Property is nestled in a nice, quiet community and is in an ideal location to travel to nearby harbor towns along Lake Michigan for a day trip. The property owner was very responsive and provided clear & helpful instructions/advice during our stay. Would happily bring my young children for another visit.

Comfortable stay

We had a great couple days while we stayed at the cottage. The firewood was very convenient to purchase on site. The toy closet was a huge hit! The beds were super comfy! Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful cottage and property!

Great place for families We loved the yard and games for the kids. The fire pit was used to make chilly nights more comfortable and we loved the smores too! Couldn't say enough regarding the beautiful cleanliness of the cottage.as well :)

The rental is full of nostalgic kids toys enjoyed by all, was very clean, and offered lots of extra blankets and bedding. My favorite part was that all of the top sheets on the bedding smelled clean - sometimes at rentals it seems like those are never washed. Highly recommend.

There is nothing like crawling into a comfy bed with crisp clean sheets! This is why we use white sheets and white towels - you can look at them and see they are clean. Cozy and comfortable - great location.

The property was exactly as described. Clean, well equipped and furnished and close to the waterfront. We spent the days exploring the areas along the coast, visiting the lighthouses, cideries and breweries and spent the clear evenings by the firepit looking up at the stars.

Cute Family Cottage

Cottage nestled in a large shady lot, with room for kids to run. A short walk to the beach with beautiful views and white sand. Nearby ice cream shop with a nice grassy park, highly recommended for families.

Clean, quiet cottage, very relaxing

The cottage was clean and nicely decorated in a quiet neighborhood and is close to Lake Michigan. Really enjoyed having fires in the fire pit and seeing the Milky Way in the night sky. Wife and I had a very relaxing stay. There are many beaches nearby to enjoy Lake Michigan and watch the sunset from.

Thanks Eric! We agree, while our association beach is fabulous, it is fun to explore other beaches! The beach near Little Sable Point Lighthouse is a prime example. You can explore the inside of the lighthouse and go out on the narrow balcony at the top - if you dare. Bring a snack and do a little sunning on the beach. And.. from the end of May until Mid-September, if you stay until evening on Wednesdays, you will be treated to a free musical concert from 7:00 to 8:30 pm just as the sun begins to set! A wonderful way to experience a sunset! Thanks for being our guests! Greg & Linda

Great place to stay. Nice and quiet. I took my thermos of coffee and sat on the deck in the morning.

It was awesome for our family of four. We played games, went to the beach and saw the sunset every night. The list of activities Linda sent was invaluable! The dunes are not far and lots of fun. We needed this vacation.

Perfect getaway for northern michigan

Very close to beach. It was all clean and beautiful place for fire pit outside to see all the stars. My friends and I had a fantastic time. Great communication by host and very organized. Appreciated that there was coffee already there for us that first morning!

Excellent Getaway

The location of the property is excellent. The property is clean and welcoming. It was great for a family trip. We did have colder weather most of our trip but the attractions Linda and Greg shared with us were fantastic so we still had a nice time even though it was a bit cold for the beach. We also met Linda and Greg (the owners) during our trip and they were so nice. I would highly recommend this property.

Linda was helpful when questions were in need, do to first time there. Cottage was cozy, clean, and pleasant environment , that was close to beaches and Lake Michigan. We felt at home there !!! Rita White

Thanks Rita! We understand, it can be a bit unnerving, on a first time visit; each vacation rental has different amenities and guidelines. We try to make it as clear and simple as possible, by including detailed descriptions online of all of the amenities La Bella Vie Cottage has to offer. We email our 'House Manual', in advance of your stay, and have one available on the kitchen counter, when you arrive, to answer any questions on 'how things work' etc. Guests love our 'Local Attractions Guide' which lists over 30 area attractions: parks, beaches, lighthouses, local music events, restaurants, waterparks, zoos, wineries and More! And of course, as you found out, we are here to answer any questions you may have! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! As you said, with La Bella Vie Cottage so close to Lake Michigan, a visit in summer would be nice. Visit again soon! Greg & Linda

Everything We Had Hoped For!

The property, experience and communication/service could not have been better. Everything was as featured online in the pictures. We did not want for anything. It felt like we were walking into our own home. The property was so comfy and homey and the extra touches (toys for the kids, life jackets, highchair) were all so appreciated and helpful for a stressed mommy trying to get away and make memories with her family. We would highly recommend renting this property.

Loving wooded setting close to the beach

The property was lovely and wooded with lots of space for eating, playing, hanging hammocks and enjoying a fire. The beach was lovely, as were the sunsets. We were glad to have our bikes rather than take the 10-minute walk. The house was very clean, though not updated. The house is carpeted throughout. Our hosts were very responsive when we had an issue. It was so nice to have beach towels, toys, chairs, boats etc. provided.

A good stay-a few thoughts

This cottage was very clean. Plenty of room. Quiet setting. Walk to beach is 10-15 mins so drive if you have stuff. Host had several up-charges (extra fees) that we normally find included like: wood for the campfire, kayak, washer/dryer. Seems like a $5 bundle of wood would be an easy thing with the daily rate this cottage commands. Master bedroom bed was good, a couple of the others could use an update. Beach setting is marvelous.

We have to agree with you, the “Beach setting is marvelous.” The rental rate for La Bella Vie Cottage includes: our cottage – in a secluded, wooded setting, complete with fieldstone firepit, grill & picnic table - and private association access to ½ mile of beautiful Lake Michigan beachfront. We include beach umbrellas & chairs, sand toys, small wave boards for the little ones, life jackets, corn hole, ladder ball, croquet, and inside we offer, a game/toy closet and tons of books for all ages. The only Fee we charge is a cleaning fee. Kayaks and paddle boards can be rented locally for $65 Per Day. As a special perk for our guests, we offer a kayak and/or paddle board for rent, for less than $65, to use for your entire stay! We bring them to the beach for you, no need for you to return them to the cottage nightly. We have adult wave boards, too. Most people see this as a great benefit. Due to misuse by guests, we charge a nominal fee for the use of our washer and dryer. We make firewood available on site, for less than local stores charge. In the evening, when the stars are shining bright, you have eaten your fill of s'mores, and you just want to relax a little longer before heading to your comfy bed – firewood is close at hand to stoke the fire for a bit longer. All of our pricing is fully disclosed. We list all of your options online so you can take advantage of opportunities that are best suited to your family. Great place for families with slightly older kids

House was great and exactly as stated in the description. My own fault for not reading some of the information better as a real disappointment was not having washing facilities, which for a 2 week trip with 2 children 2 and under was a necessity! Great location and easy to get to many of the fantastic local attractions, and the hosts were a great help even arranged a pontoon ride for us. The high chair on site is suitable for kids over the age of 1 or 1 and a half however and most toys were for 3 years +. Beach was good but current a bit too strong for the littlest ones and the stairs difficult to manage at such a young age for my kids. One of the highlights was Stony Lake Inn, a must visit!

What a privilege to provide our guests from Scotland with a boat trip, at no charge, offering a little glimpse of Stony Lake history. Our friends Dan & Libby provided both boat and narration - including tales of a bootlegger and racketeer, who had ties to the notorious Detroit Purple Gang. You were fortunate to be able to watch a rare storm come across Lake Michigan - a wonderful experience, of unimaginable drama and beauty. Naturally, with winds from a storm come waves, which can cause currents a bit strong for young children, which is why we provide life jackets for little ones (and adults), to keep them safe while playing at waters edge, and to give their parents peace of mind. Lake Michigan, which is over 90 miles across and 300 miles long, is the third largest fresh water lake in the United States. Like the Pacific Ocean, sunsets are spectacular. Unlike the ocean, most summer days are calm, offering crystal clear waters, with no salt or sharks. Please Note: This boat trip was a one time experience for our Scotland guests, as time involved was extensive.

The best vacation ever

We loved loved loved this place. We brought our bikes and biked to the beautiful beach every day and took bike rides all around the community. We brought our 6 year old grandson and they had SO MANY TOYS and games.. he never touched his own toys we brought. The inside is cozy and more spacious than i thought it would be looking at the pictures! They have every outdoor game you would ever want- badminton, croquet, cornhole and much more! Life vests for people of all sizes. But i have to say my favorite part is the yard.. a BIG side yard with fire pit, chairs, grill and picnic table, and a big backyard with tetherball. I can't say enough!!

Cozy home away from home

This cottage is wonderful. The property owners Greg and Linda were the perfect hosts! As a mom of 3 kiddos staying by ourselves, it was clean, comfortable, and in the perfect serene location. We felt safe and secure as well. They even provided some “extra” baby equipment knowing I was traveling with an infant without me asking! The cottage has everything you need to have a home away from home. We loved the fire pit and the veggie garden, and all of the beautiful flowers used in the landscaping. The beds were comfortable, and although it was cool outside, we were happy the cottage had AC… something that’s a must for this Florida momma. It was a reasonable walk to the beach. Overall we couldn’t have been more pleased. We would definitely recommend!

Excellent place to stay close to beach. Very, very clean and comfortable. We appreciated it had everything we needed to make our own meals. Beautiful yard and gardens. Lots of indoor and outdoor games available to play. We rented and used kayack and paddle board everyday, perfect in cold water. Highly recommend!
