Stilfuld Beachfront Estate på fransk forlader strand, gå til byen, ny privat pool

We are so sorry about the pool. The pool salt maker had run out and we were on chlorine. We will install the salt maker next week. The blender is new, and there are several pool toys usually stacked on the grass beside the bbq area. There are 6 beach chairs, all new. The cooler is under the water dispenser. Plates and other kitchenware are arriving next week.

We are glad you enjoyed the house! We apologize for the AC leak. This was a new issue and is being addressed by the electrician this week. New mattresses for the twin beds are already on order.

I'm the rental agent for this property, not the owner. I handle 100 other rentals on the island as well. Water pressure on the island in general is not what we are used to in the U.S., but the water pressure in this house is certainly adequate, typical for the island, and no other clients of mine have complained about it. The comment about the wind is also misleading. The best beaches on this island, the spectacular pink sand beaches for which it is famous, are on the Atlantic side. This side is actually prized for its pleasant ocean breeze. No one wears a windbreaker on the beach. We wear bathing suits. The exception would be the two or three times a year when temps drop for a few days due to weather events. But normally, you won't see anyone wearing a windbreaker on the beach : )

The water does work when the power goes out! It just needs to be switched from cistern to town water. All the kitchen appliances are working well. The refrigerator is new, so not the original unit shown in the ad. The road to the house is a typical island dirt road, so we recommend a vehicle with some ground clearance, but it certainly does not require a four wheel drive.

The beach in front of the property is protected by a barrier reef and is usually not rough. If it is, the deserted north end of French Leave Beach is just 50 yards away, and that is one of the best protected beaches on the island.

We are so sorry to hear this. We wish we had known about the bugs during your stay. We have never had that problem before or since, so we are guessing you left a window or door open at some point, which allowed the bugs to fly in. In any case, we have had the house sprayed as a precaution. New coverlets were ordered prior to your stay and are en route. We completely agree that you should not have had to drive to get the towels. That is unacceptable, and we wish we had known about it at the time. We have since hired a new caretaker.

We are so sorry that you experienced those frustrating water issues. Alfred House has both town water and a back-up water system with a cistern and pumps in case the town water goes out, as it occasionally does on the island. You had the misfortune to stay at the property at a time when there was a bad leak in the town water line. The leak has now been repaired. This has never happened before and we don’t expect it to happen again. Regarding the TV, we do wish you had reached out about this. Alfred House has reliable satellite TV via Starlink with 3800 channels. Occasionally a guest will unplug something interrupting service, but our TV/WIFI tech can quickly get it working over the phone, if you let us know. We have not had complaints about the cleaning service, but if you had let us know you found dust, we would have sent them back in.

The owner did in fact hire a new property manager last week, and we are pleased that the new property manager has replaced the three faulty AC systems and addressed other maintenance issues.
