We are glad you enjoyed the location, the convenience of the elevator, and the home's overall atmosphere. ​We have rented our home for 32 years, and over those decades, we have received consistently high ratings from guests who frequently comment on how very clean our home is. Out of hundreds of families hosted, we have only ever had a handful of complaints regarding cleaning, making your review by far the worst we have ever received. We have numerous repeat guests on a yearly basis who appreciate our home and our dedicated interest in providing our guests with the best service we can offer. We actively manage and periodically use our home ourselves, constantly working to prevent any problems like the ones you mentioned. ​When you reached out following your late check-in on Saturday evening, addressing the AC issue was my top priority. I had a technician on-site first thing Sunday morning to charge the unit with Freon, which resolved the cooling issue right away. Our maintenance man was on site within 30 minutes of notification to service the condensate line—where there was only a small amount of residual moisture, not gallons—and replace the air filter, which should have been handled during turnover. ​Regarding the cleanliness concerns, we strongly dispute the claims about the encasements, mattress covers, and rugs, as well as the assertion of dog hair in the coffee maker and refrigerator. Our home features laminate flooring with washable throw rugs that are regularly cleaned in our washing machine, and mattress covers protect the encasements. When our cleaner returned to address your concerns, they noted you had brought your own cleaning supplies and vacuum. Nevertheless, our cleaner was there in less than 30 minutes, performed all tasks as directed by your family, and walked through the house with your family before leaving, at which point your family confirmed that everything was fine with the re-cleaning. ​Because we resolved the maintenance issue immediately on Sunday morning and dispatched our cleaner to address every item to your satisfaction, we were unable to offer additional refunds or cover a hotel stay. ​We take great pride in our high standards and in taking care of our guests promptly, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

While I am glad you enjoyed the beachfront location, the views, the outdoor shower, and found me easy to work with, I am deeply sorry that the cleanliness upon your arrival fell so far below acceptable standards. ​Having to spend the first hours of your vacation cleaning is completely unacceptable. We have since replaced that cleaning crew for failing to provide acceptable service to ensure this level of oversight never happens again. ​I also want to clarify a few details regarding the home's layout and amenities: ​Layout: It is not required to walk through a bedroom to get to another. The bedroom with the elevator is directly accessible via the elevator, while the other bedrooms are accessible from the spiral staircase and hallway. There is simply a communicating door between one bedroom and the elevator room for added convenience. ​Door & Blinds Maintenance: The back door was newly replaced just within the past few months. The issue with the handle of which you notified us and the built-in blind operator which was damaged and has to be replaced of which you did notify us was unfortunately caused by excessive force, as the blind operator was ripped from the door due to a slamming force. While this door should not have required service without your abuse, I made it a priority to address the repair of the handle promptly during your stay. We only discovered the blind operator after you had checked out. ​We have many repeat guests and numerous reviews from visitors who are very satisfied with our home, but we hope you find what you are looking for in your future travels.
