We absolutely enjoyed our stay at The Pelican! Our point of contact Natalee was perfect on communication and even followed up during our stay. The house was clean so spacious. Only complaint was keeping the home at 78 degrees was a bit to high as hot as it was and the remote to the living room fan was missing. Also if you are not from the area and not aware anywhere on the gulf coast they have a bug called Noseeum's they will tear you up and the bites are more intense than mosquitoe bites please buy Repel 100 which has 98.11% Deet concentration. Other than that beds are so comfy and kitchen is equipped with everything you need if you decide to cook in home. Thank you the owner for letting us spend our time away from home in their beautiful home to spend time with family for our 24th Anniversary.

Great experience

The house was a very nice property. Our associate Aelita was very kind, and made sure that everything was in order. I would recommend this place again.

Very nice and beautiful home. Managing company didn't get back with us within 24 hours as they advertised. Would recommend!

Fabulous stay

This house was fabulous. The kitchen is outfitted with almost everything I have in my kitchen. The place was clean and the neighborhood was very quiet. The grocery store is about 1 mile away. We went to manatee park about 45 minutes away. We also went to ding darling refuge about 30 minutes away. We had a wonderful time with the family for the Christmas holiday I would so stay here again.

Review

House and location were great. Common household amenities were a bit sparse. Request for us to do laundry and left 2 laundry pods. No dish soap, no paper products not even a single roll of toilet paper. Only 2 extra garbage bags. One shower towel per person. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Nice house, must be a rule follower!

House was intact after storm, but outside wasn’t cleaned up yet - patio tv filthy with storm debris, ladder left in middle of patio, grill overturned (wish we knew that amenity wasn’t available as we brought marinated meats to grill for dinners). We rented different houses each week since Hurricane Ian. We nicknamed this one the “scary house” for the sole purpose that we were scared to do ANYTHING. Received SEVENTEEN emails total from booking through the 5 day stay. All regarding different rules that must be followed - for check in, during stay, & check out. All citing that we will be fined if any rule is broken. Aside from VRBO booking, required a LENGTHY contract to be initialed and signed in various places, I felt like I was buying the place. I get it, CYA… however since this stay, any property that says Roelens on it is a hard pass for me. We never fully relaxed as we constantly worried about what we may be doing wrong.

Great House/Bad Property Management

We really enjoyed staying at this house. The layout is fantastic and the master suite is spacious with a great tub and two showers. The pool area is nice except the lanai was ripped off when the hurricane came through and it was never disclosed to us on the listing by the property management company. Unfortunately, the hot tub was broken and instead of the property management company being honest and up front about it being broken they first said to fill it with water and press start, then when a picture was sent with no control panel present on the unit they said they would send someone out to fix it. Three days went by and no one came and no one bothered to call to follow up. There wasn’t even a refund of our money for the tub fee. The house is fantastic with a lot of the essential items in place. The kitchen is well stocked and there’s tupperware for storing your food in. The house was a bit dirty. When you walked around in socks they were visibly dirty and the kitchen counters had little ants on them so you couldn’t leave anything out on the counters. There was onsite laundry which was nice. The grill worked well and the neighborhood seemed quiet and safe.

Wonderful Property.

Nice clean house with a wonderful backyard pool area. We loved hanging out by the pool, fishing off the dock, and renting kayaks to explore the waterways. The pool area during the day had full sun if you wanted or shade if you preferred that instead. The house had everything we needed except beach items, wished they would have provided beach chairs, umbrella and beach toys. We did buy an umbrella and coolers and left it there. Otherwise, the house was a good fit for our family and we would stay again.
