It was a beautiful cottage and an overall great stay. The only thing that was a bit of a challenge for us was the stairs leading to the cottage itself. We have some mobility concerns in our group, and because of this the property was a bit difficulty to access. There is no photo of the stairs on the listing, but there is about 6 sets to make your way down. Other than this, everything was great. The host was extremely responsive, very sweet, and the property had everything we needed and was beautiful.

Nice Home Away from Home

Really nice little place to stay, right on the water. Great for morning walks as the area has low traffic, the stairs startvyoubof with a bitbof a workout.

Peaceful

My husband and I (plus our dog) enjoyed 5 nights at this beautiful spot. Had really good food options close by and it was a great spot to visit Halifax and Peggy’s Cove. Nice deck to sit out on and enjoy the area. Super peaceful. We had a lovely time.

Great spot!

Wonderful stay for a family with two young kids. Lots of play time in the lake, enough room inside for everything necessary. Host was quick & responsive. Would recommend!

This homey lakefront cottage was the perfect place to get a good rest and get ready for my wedding, communication with the property manager was fantastic. You can tell this is a well looked after cottage

Great view

Beautiful lake view, quiet private space, and comfortable bed. Be aware there are quite a few stairs down to the cabin so you will get your exercise carrying your luggage and supplies 😂

First time in Nova Scotia

We’ll stocked house. Quant , peaceful setting on small lake. Comfortable and private. Excellent communicators. Definitely would stay there again.

Slice of heaven

The serene atmosphere was incredible. A great piece of property to get away to and leave the world behind. The scenery is breathtaking, the peace and quiet is elevating. I recommend this property for anyone looking for the perfect getaway, it’s what Nova Scotia is all about

Nova Scotia Trip

Great place to stay for a couple, as it is only a one Bedroom. We are traveling with a small RV and needed a place to take a break and stretch out and shower. As other reviews mentioned, the stair case down to the house were a bit much , 53 steps ! 20 minutes to Peggy’s cove and 20 Min to Halifax.

Nice little getaway

My wife and I had a short but great little getaway at this cottage for the weekend. It is small but well laid out and well appointed so it was comfortable and had enough space for the two of us and our small dog. Great views of the lake. The stairs to the property are steep and plentiful but this was not an issue for us. This is a peacefully quiet place close to Halifax that was ideal for us.

Best part of staying here was the peace & QUIET, the cool breeze & serene lake view, and the proximity to both Halifax & Lunenburg.The cottage itself was cozy and sufficient, but disappointing in lots of small, easy-to-overlook ways that added up over 3 days. My biggest concern is how outdated (some, if not all) the posted photos are. The backyard has changed drastically since the photos were taken. There are no wooden docks at all, the bushes around the deck are grown up & block the lake view from half of it, the pictured firepit is now a garden, and the shed has what might be a stove-warmed, wooden hot tub structure attached to the shed which is unusable to guests. The laundry machines in the photos have been replaced w/ a 2-in-1 unit that gradually slides down the slightly sloped floor when in use and the dryer vent tubing detached from the wall & machine multiple times while in use. We identified 1 paddleboard & the 1 canoe. The paddleboat did not appear to be water-worthy. All of this is excusable & completely understandable for the age of the cottage. I'd simply appreciate & ask that the photos accurately reflect the state of things. The stairs were not pictured except in reviews; they are a must-see & should 100% be pictured.The interior was quite clean, pillows & linens were well stocked. Host was easy to communicate with.

Cozy, comfortable & quiet

This cabin is definitely so cozy and comfortable. We loved the neighborhood, view, and quiet neighbors! Like stated, the stairs could be a problem for some, but was fine for our family. The backyard was a wonderful retreat every afternoon. The one thing we missed was the dock (there was not one) and the pedal boat. Both are pictured in the listing, but not available, unfortunately.

two night stay

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful spot. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. It would be nice to have extra bedding for the couch. The commute was easy to Halifax and Peggy's Cove. The lights on the steps ( appeared plugged in and solar) were not on when we returned from Halifax the at night. Fortunately I had my flashlight with me as the steps are steep and dark.

Amazing place, amazing owner.

This place was amazing, so cute and perfect for a weekend away from home. My dog had a field day being on the water and the property. It was very clean, not too far from the city. Had a small conversation with the neighbour next door and he was extremely friendly. We had an issue with the wifi but she resolved it very fast and answered the texts within minutes, the communicate was amazing. I really recommend staying here as you won’t regret it.

Good stay but a few shortcomings

We enjoyed the location of the property. Stairs were a bit of a challenge for moving in and out. Next door neighbour was great and very helpful! Accommodations could have been a bit cleaner overall, there was only a single dishwasher tablet, no oven mitts that we could find, extra bedding was very messy in closet, not sure if clean/dirty, dirty cooking tray was left in oven which we cleaned after arriving.

Not great. Not the cleanest home, and rats came to the kitchen garbage the second night we were there. They made quite the mess, pulled bags of garbage completely out, chewed on everything. We were pretty disturbed so sent pictures to the owner and asked if we could leave for the 3rd night and get a refund. She assured us we could, but it has been over 10 days and no word on our refund yet.

Lake cabin, needs some TLC

Great locationgreat view, alot of stairs from vehicle to cabin but we were fine with the steps. Check in was OK as the lockbox was not even latched and was left open. We had to do a search of property to make sure we were only ones there. The majority of house was clean, however the area you want spotless is the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets had mice droppings throughout. There was alot old expired food left in cabinets that the mice had some meals from. Then there was an open bag of cannabis left in cabinet. Granted its legal, just was odd to find in a VRBO. The first 3 days we were unable to enjoy the yard and lake area as the grass was extremely long. When we arrived back from a day trip the grass was cut so we decided to take the canoe out. Which if i had to guess had not been flipped over or used in awhile. We we unable to use the canoe due to the metal support resting in the keel line was slid all the way to front making the canoe unsteerable. We could not use the charcoal grill as the grate was rusted and unusable. The pellet grill did wonderful, however had to clean out previous use of wet pellets. The neighbor on the left was great and friendly. The neighbor on right had a few kids that were extremely loud over the weekend and they were cutting through the property. The fishing from shore was awesome, alot of catch and release but made for a great time. My son enjoyed the kid toys. Overall the property needs some attention in the kitchen and maybe a change in listing

This is a lovely cottage on the water that is very well equipped. Comfortable in all aspects- great bed for sleeping.The only concern is the staircase down yo the cottage is steep and 50 stairs So unloading a car with coolers and gear is quite challenging Otherwise an amazing place to stay

Ideal cottage retreat close to Halifax

Ideal location it would’ve been better if there was more privacy from neighbours other wise great spot. Just a bit more greenery to give separation. Although it was fall and maybe in summer it was different. Would love to take my mom there for a girls weekend.
