Lake Placid Lodge is a perfectly nice property in the heart of Whistler's Creekside Village. The unit was clean, comfortable and mostly quiet, the only real noise coming from the people in the unit upstairs walking (running?) around. The internet service was fast, the smart TV worked well for streaming services and the furniture was comfortable and clean. I was able to prepare all my meals in the small kitchen, though keep in mind there are only basic dishes, pots, pans, etc. There was some salt and pepper, but beyond that no other spices, no cooking oils, plastic wrap, sandwich baggies, etc, so plan accordingly and bring some from home if needed. The underground parking spaces were comfortably large enough for my sports car. Keep in mind that if you are bringing an expensive bicycle, like I did, these are not permitted in the units. You will have to risk locking it up in the bike cage in the parking garage. I also appreciated the small patio outside my unit, though I didn't use it as much as expected. Creekside is a very quiet area compared to Whistler Village, and highly recommended with easy access just across the street to a well-stocked grocery store with deli, liquor store, and a few restaurants, plus a bike/ski rental shop. The only cons were that when I first arrived (after a poor night's sleep and subsequent 6-hour drive), I misread the code instructions for the front door. I first called security who was busy but otherwise friendly and helpful. I then called the main management number and the lady I spoke to was rather rude and seemed very bothered by my call, despite me being friendly and clearly confused. On the very last day, after getting in and out of the building with the code just fine, my front door code stopped working, even after entering it properly several times (my unit's door and the parking garage doors still worked). I called management again and got the same rude lady who insisted I was just entering the code wrong (I was not). Rating: A-
